- (December 2024) This is an incredible vintage Dover elevator at Oak Park Tower in Oak Park, IL. When I first saw this, I would have assumed it was traction, but I was wrong. This is a 7 floor HYDRAULIC elevator! I also found out there is a floor in-between G and 1, so really, this travels 8 floors. There is a service elevator here, but it was modernized and is not anything interesting. This was installed in 1966, so I'm assuming it would have been installed by Gallaher & Speck.

Wow, I love these.
So odd and rare to see a hydraulic elevator that runs on many floors. I absolutely luv luv this
I assumed this would be traction and was surprised when it wasn’t.
A 7-floor HIGHdraulic for a vintage Dover.
Nice elevator, I really love the motor!
Same here.
Nice Elevator lovr the Motor
I love this
Amazing and Epic elevator! Epic motor too!
What do you mean there's a floor in between ground and 1 Jason?
So on the service elevator there’s a level “M” which isn’t on this one. That’s between G and 1.
@stlelevators interesting!
Being a 7 floor hydraulic elevator chances are good that it's telescopic hydraulic. Please correct me if I might be wrong.
It would depend on the spacing between each floor as I have been on a 6 floor hydraulic glass elevator with a normal ram
@asphaltandtacos Thank you.
Is the service elevator traction, or is it hydraulic just like this one? It’s hard to tell.
how did you find the extra floor?
On the service elevator there’s an “M” floor.
What is oak park tower
Look it up
