  • Dead Cells is one of the best Indie Games and roguelites on Steam, today I will be showing you the gameplay of my attempt at beating 0BC. Dead Cells is definetly one of the roguelikes with the best reviews out there, and I wanted to know what it was all about, I hope it brought you nostalgia of your first times playing it.

and yeah btw, when you get power scrolls, always focus it on same type of power, as it scales exponentially, rather than linearly, you will see a major difficulty change comparing to a run when you have a 1. all scrolls on 1 type of power(2 red, 18 purple, 6 green) 2. equally distributing scrolls to every power type (8 red, 9 purple, 9 green)

From someone who has beaten the true ending in 5BC (you get your first boss cell after defeating HotK), shields can near break the game if you get good enough at them. Definitely worth learning them early game

Doing 0BC is hard to imagine getting to 5BC, how many hours did it take?

I think the best tip I can give you is to take it slow and always. You get plenty of time to be fast and aggressive. Learn the enemy patterns, experiment with different weapons and most of all: I heavily urge you to check on Assist mode. Its there for a reason and without it I may never found the courage to try and do all the actually incredibly challenging things like a cursed sword run and the Flawless true ending. Many people are too much of an elitist to admit it, but its one of the best things you CAN do to learn the Game without being too depressed to continue. :D
Its really all about being comfortable with the controls and the enemies. Best of luck from a fellow dead cells videomaker. :D

An important strategy is to focus on only one scroll type and alternate between the other two if you can’t choose the one that you are focusing on to increase your maximum health by the largest number

Honestly I found alot of sense in actually having my third mutation being of a different scroll type, so it would serve a different purpose than just health. Works well for me, as someone who is almost at 100 percent of the game by now haha

wait what were those violet flames? i know the normal and blue oil ones but the violet ive never seen and they shredded the time keepers health too
I have like 70 or 80 runs with 2 sucesses, and I am just too skill issue for shields. my compensation was to always use the armadillopack mutation, with it your rolls will be able to parry too.

Inflammable oil on the ground mixed with fire should create the violet flames
