I can’t tell you how beautiful and helpful this video is…I am a first time grower of this passion fruit and had no idea how the bud looks like and I search to no vail. Luckily I found yours. Thank you a million times
Great video! Thank you for sharing. It's attracting to see the leafs surrounding the fruit falling down when it got fully ripe. As if the tree was hiding the fruit from our sight with the surrounding leafs to protect it, but once ripen, those leafs surrounding the fruit fell down to exhibit the fruit and make it prominent to the sight. As if it is telling: here it is! Now, you can harvest it! Just wonderful!
Love this little tree i just find a little plant in my front yard from seed I plant in spring i can’t wait to make cheese cakes and cookies and jello from passion fruit and sweet water
Awesome! I grow this exact variety of passionfruit in a 20-gallón container but I have had to allow my vine to clamber up to the canopy of my 20-feet tall mango tree. I wish I was able to prune mine and keep it low like yours, but I don't have the ideal location for it to get sufficient sunlight throughout the day if I kept it low.
I just love picking this flower when I was young on my way back home from school. I didn't know that this is passion fruit as no one knew as well in our province.
Thank you, this vid is perfect, I had a plant come up in a storm water ditch, it had one leaf on it that I thought I recognised as passion fruit but was unsure as I had never grown one. It thrived and growing profusely but here in tropical Queensland there are a few pretenders that can fool you. Now its covered in all these small leaf like protrusions as shown in your vid. Yayy I'm going to get passion fruit.
What zone are you? Love this video showing the time it takes to develop the fruit! In Ct, zone 6 I grew several passion plants from seed I got in fresh fruit. The one I put in a pot, compared to the ones in the ground, grew much taller and flowered. But then before our first frost in Oct I brought the potted one into my slightly heated sunroom to possibly grow fruit but no luck so far. I couldn’t bare to see it die, although I understand the roots may live through the winter. Still have flowers....waiting for fruit. Any tips?
Thanks for this video. I got a seedling about 3 weeks ago and finally see a tiny root at the bottom. It seems ready to be transplanted into a bigger pot but I'm scared and hope that it remains healthy. :D

As a kid we use to feel the fruit and pluck them. If they were harden they aren't ripe. If they turn softer after turning its color we would know its ripe and pluck them. Opening them up was another adventure, we would put them between our palms and press. The fruit will break evenly.
I am definitely NOT an expert, but have you tried to pollinate the flowers with a paint brush? They are not open for long, maybe a day or 2. So, I got out there with a paint brush and moved some pollen onto the top 3 bits and they set for me. The ones that I did not do that to, just fell off without forming. Here where I live starts winter in a couple of weeks so I don't know how that will affect things. Good luck with your plant
@@auroreboreale9163 sorry, I am just a clumsy gardener who grows a few passionfruit plants in pots on the verandah because there are too many brown snakes around to grown anything in a proper garden.I am not sure where you are but Your name hints at maybe Sthn Hemisphere. We are already getting almost 30C days and it's still 2 more weeks of winter. SO I am hoping that my passionfruits will come back after being pretty stagnant over winter. My suggestions would be, 1) check the pH try to get it ro acid (less than 7 maybe say 6. Then, if in the ground, since we are coming into warmer weather, keep them watered. If they are like mine and in pots, it is a balancing act between giving them wet feet and drying them out. So, my method there is the pointer method. I stick my pointer into the pot soil at about midday (that gives it time to not give a fals reading due to a cool night. If it is damp, I leave it, If it is dry, I add water. I was told that adding I think epsome salts was good for leaf growth but didn't help the flowers. SO I guess a trip to a gardening centre or even a hardware store to have a look at a few fertilizers might help. But for some reason, my thoughts keep coming back to water. Also, if you do manage to get a few flowers, and if you DO use a paintbrush, it seems to work. BUT!!!! they take an age to form and grow to a decent size. I read not to pick them, so I just let mine last year, fall off. I said sorry to them for letting them fall (just before I sliced them in half and had them on ice cream )))) One last point, if the flowers actually form and are big, it might be worthwhile prizing open one of them and letting the petals realise that thay also have a job to do. Then, they might open up for you or just remove the sepals and give the petals a chance to spead out. DOnt do it to all of them...... experiment and see what happens.
