Great instructional video. My model number is 43875 and the snap ring is a bit different, but same concept. Thanks for walking us through, and we could all use a bench vise
The "VS" means that it is a later USA made unit by Danaher. Most times, they don't need a kit. They need to be dismantled, cleaned of the old grease and reassembled. Only light grease or oil should be used (most instructions that come with the kit state SAE30). The Superlube you can buy at HF will work, but there is no need to go nuts with applying it. A little goes a long way. Heavy grease is a no-no. It will make it skip.
44808 repair kit 59.99 -120.$$ but a used working ratchet 15$$ i guess i will weld it up in some way to use as a combination wrench cheater bar, or beer bottle opener
Nine times out of ten they just need a good cleaning and relube prior to reassembly and they will be fine. Don't use heavy grease. Use lighter oil, SAE30 oil or Superlube from HF and you'll be fine. A little goes a long way.

How about taking it apart and cleaning it out.
