  • Today, I took my friend fossil hunting for the first time at one of my favorite creeks. We found over 20 teeth, but only a couple good ones. A huge tooth from an extinct relative of the mako shark, and a nicely colored angustidens shark's tooth. The Otodus angustidens shark lived 33 to 22 million years ago during the oligocene and miocene epochs, and it eventually evolved into the megalodon.
