I know it's an iconic venue, and the arena bay is the perfect place for spectator and TV based bowling finals, but it's always tough watching the WSOB finals at Thunderbowl every year. The area pin carry is just so dead. Righties wrapping 10's and flat 10's every other frame, same with lefties and the 7. Ball roll's gotta be spot on perfect to get an off hit it seems. The worst it ever was was 2019, like Prather's pocket weak 4-10 comes to mind.
When I saw the way Jesper Svennson’s ball was hitting the pins, I thought he should’ve been throwing reactive resin because the urethane was just hitting the pocket weak, but then I saw Russo’s ball wasn’t really going through the pins any better and he was throwing reactive. I guess the lanes were just impossible for the lefties.
So, fellow commenters, what do you think Russo should have done? I would've thought move left, but maybe that would've brought the early hook into play.

In my opinion, his ball change was wrong. Instead of switching to an earlier ball, he should have taken another pearl with a weaker core.
