thanks for reviewing my hair color! :D I know you mentioned some of the Purple Rain looking like it has pink streaks in it, I noticed this is a warmer looking Purple near your roots, where you lightened your hair. (I'm assuming you lightened it?) This could be because it was diluted, and wasn't dark enough to color the golden hair, or it wasn't left on long enough. For the splotchy bits, you really do have to saturate the fuck out of your hair with our color, also like you mentioned, if certain parts of your hair are more porous than others, it will wash out faster. So I would leave it on overall LONGER. I think that would help!
+Kristen Leanne Holy crap! thank you so much for responding to my video! I will give it another go (it smells so good) and see if it helps, though I had left it on for 5 hours in this video! How long would you suggest leaving it in? Btw I legit love the crap out of your videos, and very much appreciate that you took the time to respond.
I personally like splat....I died my hair at the beginning of the school year and it has faded but it is very pretty....I've had it in for over 6 months
I agree with her soo much! I putchased a shampoo specially 'for coloured hair with colour-sealing properties' have spend on it twice as much as on my normal shampoo (I have done a lot of reasearch for it) just to discover it smells odd, makes my colour bleed more and is full of SLS. So now I am happy with Palmer's coconut shampoo and conditioner. My hair smells lovely, no knots, its moisturised and when used with not hot water but lukewarm it works the treat even for my coloured hair (purple at all times:))
How does it look now? I'm hesitant to stray away from Special Effects because I love how long it lasts, but I love these Arctic Fox colors. I'm just afraid it will fade too quickly, based on reviews where people are used to using Manic Panic and only wash their hair once or twice a week (I wash every other day).
kbtoys356 I died mine a week ago, and am so super sad to say that ArcticFox fades super quickly. It breaks my heart because it smells so good and i love that some of the proceeds help fight animal cruelty. I would say that your best bet is to stick with special effects, I have never found anything that lasts as long.
kbtoys356 if you use color safe sulfate-free shampoo and only wash your hair once a week using Color safe dry shampoo in between your hair color will last a lot longer
I had an issue with Poseidon as well, I couldn't get the color show up properly on my hair. So it really didn't take long to finish up a 4oz bottle, since it just didn't dye that pigmented - and washed out quickly. Since then I've purchased Iris Blue, which is a Completely different story. I had it in - diluted about half/half with conditioner - for an hour. And it's stayed for over a month, still semi bright (going from a screaming turquoise) ... So I guess it just depends from color to color
I really found it depends on the colour because lately ive just about only been using the purples and have had no issues. So I think it depends on the colour, and it also varies person to person
my hair is blonde with a tad bit of purple now. I can definitely make an updated hair care video. My hair care is quite different now but i can include some tips about bright hair.Below is a link to a bright hair care video I made several months ago. ruclips.net/video/qa9ZYqqxMjo/видео.html
himlover4ever if you use color safe sulfate free shampoo and wash your hair maybe once a week and use dry shampoo in between it makes a huge difference in the color last a lot longer I mean I can't speak for Arctic fox because I haven't used it yet but any of the other brands of ever used that makes a huge difference
I would really like to see a video on your suggestions for how to take care of bright hair and how to keep it in without fading; I'm about to use Arctic Fox's Poison on my hair and I've only ever used Manic Panic (which literally faded the next day even though that was the first time I've ever died my hair) and I was wondering what I could do to make it last longer because I'm not sure if I did something wrong with the Manic Panic
+Hali Walker I can definetly do that =) I cant say when, mostly because i am in college and that takes up a lot of my time, but i will keep this in mind, for a future video!
I've heard really good things about Arctic Fox but I used literally half of a 2 oz ion tube to dye my entire head silver so I really wish there was a smaller size or samples, especially since I want to do color melts next.
the great thing is, since they are relatively cheap you can get a few different colours and continuously switch between and have dye that lasts you a long time instead of having to buy dye all the time.
+831Samshine My fave turquoise brand is Punky Colour Hair Dye... if you have a chance, try it! 3 months to fade it, just like Special Effects atomic pink, deep purple, velvet.... more than 15 years i've being dying my hair... and I love it!!!
+The Awakened Vegan Thanks! I miss it so much. it had been a while since i had seen a more natural colour in my hair so i went back to brown for the fall, i left purple in it (just gotta redye it cause it faded)
I'm not sure where you are located so it's hard to say. In ottawa, Canada the ONLY store you can get it at is Trivium. I believe it can be found on Amazon as well. I would suggest doing a google search. I hope that helps!
Its weird i have use manic panic and ion hair color brillance..i have use their pinks purples and blues mostly and i have also tried their red.. recently i got this new brand of dye that i have never heard of because it has argan oil in ..it was meh it didnt do anything special for me but the color sticks..i got it in teal..this dye is suppose to wash out in 6-8 washes the box said. NOPe it is still in my hair..and when i use manic panic it stays in my hair for months and takes forever to fade..i dont know why but hair dye just sticks to me..Now recently i got Pravana Silver and just did it for my roots (which i prebleached) and it took just fine but after one wash it faded so quickly..
+Nerdy Unicorn Also i wash my hair in super hot water( i cant stand the cold). and only wash once a week.. for shampoo and conditioner i use what i can afford .up until now i was using OGX brand..two days ago i switched to herbal essence so we will see if that does anything
+831Samshine yea me too. even pre-bleached it just wont hold very well. pravana was worse than manic panic for me. have not tried arctic fox, but i plan on ordering some in the next few weeks.
+Labiba Rahim Pravana hair dyes are usually used in salon. Unfortunately, I can't afford to get my hair dyed professionally . If I could I would so that I could make the comparison
I'm honestly surprised to hear that. Though I dont mind doing reviews, I'm at a point where I know the brand that work for me and I dont want to venture too much if at all. SFX hair dye is my holy grail but out of my budget so Arctic fox is my good middle ground .
yeah I find myself touching up artic fox every weekend.. ..going to be brave and attempting mermaid hair with it.. special effects is awesome.. have you tried joico

People say to leave the color on for about 2 hours right? im about to do my whole head purple rain after bleaching
I personally like splat....I died my hair at the beginning of the school year and it has faded but it is very pretty....I've had it in for over 6 months
Hot Topic now sells Arctic Fox! I'm very excited to try it!
they've had it for a while which makes me super happy
It's cheaper on the artic fox website.
Have you ever tried lunar tides?
I agree with her soo much! I putchased a shampoo specially 'for coloured hair with colour-sealing properties' have spend on it twice as much as on my normal shampoo (I have done a lot of reasearch for it) just to discover it smells odd, makes my colour bleed more and is full of SLS.

Manic panic has NEVER worked for me either !!
The Bina, Setar, Tabla and flute combo as background was soooo soothing
For me splat worked great.. 1.last on hair for 2 months 2. Bled very little
I think that is the first time I've ever heard of splat working great =O goes to show how much different people's hair reacts differently
It lasts about 4 months for me, but I was my hair every other day :) I also took cold showers
It was my first time dyeing my hair with manic panic omg it work it stayed on my hair for 7months
really? maybe its just me then, ive tried using manic panic several times and every time the colour is virtually entirely gone within 1-2 days
I got manic panic violet dye and I'm really not sure if it was supposed to turn out pink but it came out a very light pink.

thank you for the review, it's very good and i appreciate your honesty as well
I love the music you've got going on in the background!!! XD
You remind me so much of Kat Dennings.
Also, thank you so much for all these reviews. Very helpful.
Also I’m trying to do blue with green highlights did you use tin foil to separate the pink and blue from the purple?
Yes please make hair maintenance video, I would like to try new shampoos and conditioners that help keep colored hair :3
my hair is blonde with a tad bit of purple now. I can definitely make an updated hair care video. My hair care is quite different now but i can include some tips about bright hair.Below is a link to a bright hair care video I made several months ago.

+Hali Walker awe haha, you are too sweet!
Hali Walker use color safe sulfate free shampoo and only wash your hair about once a week using dry shampoo for colored hair in between
What is the best shampoo to use? I use biolage but I’ve yet to find a shampoo that doesn’t make the color run.
I hear arctic fox actally holds better in non virgin hair.
I use artic fox and yes it did bleed but It never stained my towels nor my pillows. My hair is purple
carmen B of course it bleeds in the shower you're washing it out it's not gonna dissapear in the air
You can get it on amazon.ca for 27.00 without paying crazy shipping (8oz). Free shipping if you're on Prime.
multiple bottles or one bottle for 27? seems expensive!
One, but you don't have to pay 30.00 shipping....so....
Robin A just buy it from artic fox website. It's so much cheaper plus shipping.

Thx for the review. I love Special Effects too!!!!

Ill have to give it a try if i can find it, thanks !
+831Samshine you can find punky colours in shoppers drug mart
cool, thanks !
I don't like Splat either lol I use Virgin Pink from Arctic Fox on my hair with my blonde and love it. Btw,your hair looks great :)
Can you upload a video of dying your hair half red and half black
Like your review. I've been looking for a good, vegan hair dye. Thanks for this :)
no problem, thank you for watching! =)
your hair is so pretty! rainbow hair ftw :)
+The Awakened Vegan Thanks! I miss it so much. it had been a while since i had seen a more natural colour in my hair so i went back to brown for the fall, i left purple in it (just gotta redye it cause it faded)
where can I buy special effects

Ebay for about $12 free shipping
I love yr hair colour Do u have any hair colour videos ?

+Nerdy Unicorn Hair dye seems to do differently for everyone. Manic Panic fades in 1 to 2 washes for me.
+831Samshine yea me too. even pre-bleached it just wont hold very well. pravana was worse than manic panic for me. have not tried arctic fox, but i plan on ordering some in the next few weeks.
My #1 is special effects hair dye, I do like arctic fox though =)
I like the red pink on you it so pretty
thank you =)
How long did this end up lasting?
about a month or so for the darker colours, the lighter ones fade pretty quickly and did not take to my hair as well
With me, 3 washes and my blonde is already peeking through
How long does it last?
do you have to bleach for this product. I have naturally dark hair. Does it wash out too.
+Cecilia Vu Yes I did have to bleach. I did a follow up video talking about how it last. Here is the link : ruclips.net/video/ZuAG1nc1tyY/видео.html
Cecilia Vu glad you asked this question! Sorry I accidentally hit thumbs down...lol I corrected that. Thx for asking this!!
what shampoo do you prefer?
+Amy Chace Hi Amy! =) I actually just made a video about that, here's the link to that video: ruclips.net/video/qa9ZYqqxMjo/видео.html
make a vedio ...parvana vivids vs arctic fox!!!
+Labiba Rahim Pravana hair dyes are usually used in salon. Unfortunately, I can't afford to get my hair dyed professionally . If I could I would so that I could make the comparison
+831Samshine you can get pravana on amazon or ebay and sites like that :p
My personal experience with pravana vivids: Crap! They washed out in a week, it was totally insane and I was not expecting it from a high end brand.
I'm honestly surprised to hear that. Though I dont mind doing reviews, I'm at a point where I know the brand that work for me and I dont want to venture too much if at all. SFX hair dye is my holy grail but out of my budget so Arctic fox is my good middle ground .
would u review sparks dye i saw it out at hot topic and am curious about it ive heard its a dupe to pravana and easier to buy
what kind of shampoo do you use?
Live clean shampoo, its a pink bottle
manic panic cotton candy and their new creamtone collection is awful, obviously their pastels but its like putting just conditionner on your hair
okay...thanks
dn make a comparison....if u cant make dn tell me n here:) ty...
did you have to bleach???
+Monique Alfonso Yes I did have to bleach.
aryyyttt THankyy :))
The bleach I used is a brand called "ice cream" and Since I have naturally dark hair i used a 30 vol bleach!
yeah I find myself touching up artic fox every weekend.. ..going to be brave and attempting mermaid hair with it.. special effects is awesome.. have you tried joico
