As a drummer, I can confirm that learning a rush song feels like a true accomplishment

I concur! I've been playing drums for 56 years, and a band I played with a few years ago wanted to play Tom Sawyer, so I had to learn the drum line! It took me 3 months to get something "close" to Neil Pert's drum line! It wasn't perfect, but it was solid resemblance. And then I watched Avery play it like a champ, when he was 7 years old! Boy did that make me feel inadequate! LOL.
You should try "Cum on feel the Noise" by Quiet Riot and Spare Me The Details by the Offspring.
@@jamesrichardelli5682 There's absolutely NO comparison whatsoever! "Cum on Feel the Noize" is a simple 4/4 beat, which is "kindergarten" level drumming compared to anything that Neil Pert ever did!

Neil Peart had serious stamina his play had no room for error, I'm a good friend with a 25 yr RUSH concert rigger he would sit above Neil on the stage trusses during the concert and said Neil was the best he had ever seen Great Job!
Maybe RUSH should have a "Tribute to Neil" tour and recruit Avery to play in honor. You know this young man is passionate and would be great to cut his teeth professionally.?

To emulate any of them is a master accomplishment. You have achieved that Avery. Been following you since you was 3.

The Professor AND I are proud of you Avery! I've watched your progress from the very beginning.....You were barely taller than a drumstick. Your success is no accident: innate #talent and HARD work, practice, dedication. Good for you! It shows.
ps: I'm a retired (drummer)/dude and when I was in my teens my teacher had a method for me not losing my sticks. Duct tape. Sure, the rudiments were slower, but I never lost a stick ever again.

AAAAAGGGHHHH!!! 😤😫 I feel the frustration in that moment at the end, you did EVERYTHING perfectly in the song, which is what really counts, but I get it, I’m the same way, except YOU must be pretty steady mentally, because personally it would’ve driven me nuts to leave it at that, I would’ve HAD to do the whole dang thing over just to get that last trick right even though it really doesn’t matter LOL. My OCD is a pain! And the stupidest part about my OCD is the reason I would’ve had to do it over wouldn’t have been about it being cool, it would’ve been driven by a need to finish it the way I felt it had to be finished and done correctly.. perfectionism.. even though it’s an insignificant thing and doesn’t matter as far as the important part of the performance of the song. I will say though.. happily my OCD isn’t as bad as what some people go through, because after about 3 tries if I still didn’t get it just perfect, I could let it go after that, thankfully! 😅

Avery, I will always continue to watch you play, I've been watching you since you met Brad Paisley with the song hot for teacher and you had me hooked ever since. You are a very accomplished drummer, and a lot of fun to watch, I always will and continue to pick up and learn new things from you. I also have another favorite drummer that I watch and learn from as well he's the drummer from STYX Todd Sucherman. Avery, at some point I've got to get me a drum set and really start playing and practicing, and I will get there, it's just taking time to do it.
