Dear PJ, thank you so much for your tutorials. At around 8.20 min in the film I encounter a problem. The 6 elements have been snapped to the ring circle, quadrant to quadrant. But then when I rotate them (Front view) one by one they don't stay anchored on the ring circle... I have tried again and again and can't find why they are off the curve. Kind regards, Wendy

claudio gruhn Luz the resolution on this video is 1920x1080. It should be clear for most of screen. Sometimes internet speed does affect the resolution tho.
Great tutorial! I am a little stumped on how you came up with the 40 degree rotation. Would be nice to know how you came to that number so that I can apply this technique when more twists are needed. Thank you so much for all your hard work!
because there are 6 point on the circle. so there are 60 degree between each point. 60/3=20. so 20 degree each side of the point turn into 40 degree total
Thank you, i am watching each of your videos. There are amazing but in this one its hard to place the thorns on the ring. Is there a better way to navigate?
Love this PJ Chen. I'm considering strongly to sign up for your courses, especially DubD. May I ask if this particular design can accomodate a boolean!? Like for example, if you want to break up the top and add a collet?
Hello Thank you for this course ,very useful. I have a question: When I want to use" sweep 1 Rail" ,it doesn't work? I mean it can't hide the object. what is the problem?
Hi PJ. I tried to draw the vine-like ring shank by using the sweep 1 rail command, but then i noticed that the object was an open polysurface (i also notice that yours is also an open one too). Will it cause any problems during the printing process and are there any ways to fix it? Thank you.
Hi, If the cross session for the sweep 1 is a close curve. You should have a close polysurface after you cap it. Sometime, it appears naked edges on where there join edges, that may caused by the alignment. If it still cause the model problem, you can send the model to my email at pj@pjchendesign.com I can take a look for you.
Hi Julien, what type of 3D printer do you use? Each printer has different shinkage on resin or wax. You need to do some test first. You can measure your model and resin to compare the difference.
Hola. Luego de utilizar el sweep 1 y generar el anillo, al intentar agrandar o mover los circulos que dan forma al anillo, estos se mueven independiente a la forma creada :c
The rotation of the sweep edges is a very useful technique

any SubD object can convert to regular Rhinio Nurbs surfaces, and you can use boolean commands on them
@@PJChenJewelryDesign great, and what about the design in this video? I've created this ring as per your instructions but found out it won't boolean?
Thanks a lot.

Hello
Thank you for this course ,very useful.
I have a question:
When I want to use" sweep 1 Rail" ,it doesn't work? I mean it can't hide the object.
what is the problem?
I won't know till see the model. You can send the model to pj@pjchendesign.com and write me a short description. I can take a look for you.

Hi PJ! Great video! Thanks for sharing it. Is there a way to add wood grain to this technique in place of the vine texture?
yes, you may need to spend some time to find a woodgrain image. black and white usually work better. make sure the texture depth is subtle.
i would love to see a tsplines Tutorial From you !!!
gnaaa14 thank you. I will put that in my tutorial creating list.
by the way, Just want to let you know. Starting from Rhino 6. T-spline is no longer a plug- in for Rhino.
Hi PJ ! Thanks for the video. Question, how do you know its accurate for 3d printing?
Hi Julien, what type of 3D printer do you use? Each printer has different shinkage on resin or wax. You need to do some test first.
You can measure your model and resin to compare the difference.
Nice video pj ... I need your help for something .. can you do?
You can email me at pj@pjchendesign.com
thank u so much i learn a lot from this tutorial u r great bro.
You are welcome. Don't forget to check out my other Rhino 3D tutorials. You will find a lot of useful tips on them!!
hey PJ,my ring is not puffy! what am i doing wrong? ;(
not sure without seeing the model. I am guess when you sweep, your cross section is not 90 degree toward to the rail direction?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign thanks PJ!

not sure I undersand it right. but you can try to record history so when you move any curve. the shape will follow as well.
how do you rotate it and it still stays on the curvy edge?
what min:second on video are you referring to?
obrigado pj tava com dificuldade pra fazer !
que tipo de troble você teve neste tutorial?
was using another method
yours worked!
can you explain how to create gumball tools
Hi! how you rendering real time diferent materials gold and metal?
I was in Rhino 6 and in render mode. You can assign different materials first.
what finger size?
You can build on any ring sizes.
How to use record history...
Before you click on any commend, click "record history" button first. It is located at the bottom, next to gumball button.
Hello! I always have a problem with the boolean operations. Even now. all the polysurfaces are closed, but still boolean isn't working... why is so?
