I think I developed a tic where I needed to scratch my chin a few months ago (I have TS). It was weird because I never had a tic like that before and at first I thought it was related to a skin issue or OCD behavior, but then I realized it felt exactly like a premonitory urge, just much more intense for some reason (I think it's because the urge and the natural itchy sensation combined). I'm so sorry you are going through this, I hope these won't last long for you
no i have TS and i have the exact same issue. i used to think i just had random itchiness all the time but i’ve come to the conclusion that it has something to do with tics!
I dont tic, but I have a disability that affects my nerves and my skin gets impacted by it. I can have flares where rashes appear on my skin and sometimes they itch. Sometimes I can get itchy for no reason and end up with scratch marks. I don't have urges, but I have involuntary spasms where parts of my body just decide to do stuff or not do stuff. Like I drop things often bc my hands decide to stop holding things. Or I drop utensils because my fingers curl and get stuck and I just have to wait for them to not be stiff anymore. I also get bruises on my knees often because for whatever reason my leg likes to just smack itself up on a table.
Carly i think you are incredibly brave. Unfortunately due to people like emerald 😏 resulted in you at one point having to explain your illness. Thats very unfair and must have been alot of pressure. We your fans know you are genuine and anyone with a brain cell can tell you are genuine. I think the awareness you do for tourettes sufferers is absolutely amazing. You got a heart of gold ❤ much love from the u.k xx
This makes so much sense to me, because when I suppress my tics I notice I also suppress itches as well. It made me think they come from the same place in our brains- maybe premonitory urges are the same signals as itches but misplaced? Anyway, I don’t have this exact problem but it makes total sense to me because I’ve noticed a connection between tics and itches for a while now. I even use an itch as a way to describe tics to others!
I'm diagnosed with tourettes-syndrome. But it lessened a lot after puberty. Still I can relate a lot. I'm always scratchin some itches, but I learned how to not harm my skin doing that. And I think my scratching is related to ticks as well. I get you completely.
Carley I did that and scratched until my skin was raw. Mr Dr prescribed a drug called hydroxyzine hydrochloride. I have not itched since. I take 3 at night and it also helps me sleep. I do not have TS. Not sure you can take it with TS but it's worth a call to your Dr.
I don't have TS/any tics but I do have ADHD and I tend to stim. I usually find myself hitting a spot that is itchy, which leads to it being more itchy, and it's a repetitive cycle. I also have Psoriasis so when I itch myself I tend to break out into more itchiness because of Psoriasis.
I often will pinch huge welts where the tic sensation emanates🙄I end up creating a map on my body where my tic zones are that day…. I also punch the areas that my Myoclonic tics are present…
I have this extreme itchyness on my feet ive been to several doctors and they dont know why its happening the only thing that made it stop was the mood stabilizer ive been put on also the only way i could stop it before this med was to scratch it till there was a deep deep whole in my foot horrifying actually also i recently developed an aggressive tic where i scratch my arms and face and i have several scars from this now 😮😮😮😢
1:56 IM SORRY BUT THAT WAS WAY TO FUNNY 🤣 And at 10:30 Plus, I hate ticcs and I’m glad I don’t have them cuz people would think I’m crazy and people probably look at you and think your crazy 😂 I wouldn’t be friends with you. BUT AT 10:30 WHY DID YOU DO THAT??? 😂 🤣 😆 I can’t stop laughing omg that was so stupid
Anxiety will also cause itching please don’t be asking random strangers on the internet like you because people lie all the damn time!!! Please seek professional advice from someone who knows you and you know them or at least an urgent care mental health is dangerous to be self diagnosing. I personally know because I have mentally diagnosed myself for way too many years until I found out I am bipolar 1 with high anxiety disorder and agoraphobia
Hay Carley. I don’t know if I can claim to have turrets but I have neuropathy and at times I have uncontrollable jabs hand flicks as well as punches. Not much face twichimg and moans rather than fu or f your mom shouts. My legs are in constant pain they jerk due to pains as well as fantom pain where my right foot was amputated e
As far as itching I dig everything to the point of being raw. Bleeding and I also continue this in May sleep. I’m 68 and feel like I might be crazy and at times get so annoyed then start digging more. WTH How do you deal wait hit all
@michele_michele OK thankyou, like I said, genuine question, I know one creator was and I lost track, I recognised this person and didn't want to waste my time watching her content if she was " the fake" but she obviously was just one of the people I stumbled across during the period where the other person was outed. Thanks for your response :) xx
Me too. To the point of bleeding. It hurts.... But for me it's stimming when I'm anxious
same

General tic disorder, but I scratch specifically behind my ear a lot and sometimes my legs, it’s sort of an impulse/stimming I guess 🤷🏼
I have the same itch tick that ur talking about
My daughter and I both have tics and one of hers is where she scratched and picks at her skin, so her arms have scars from it.
super relatable!
