Transports me back to 1985... listening to Beauty Stab on my Walkman whilst travelling around Italy on the train network. I played that cassette to death. I got hooked on ABC after buying Lexicon of Love in 1982. Still a fan nearly 40 years later.
Classic underrated '80s song. Hit from the cool parties in 1987. The rap part is a welcome addition and a wonderful (and fun) 'response' to the single track. I also recommend 'When Smokey Sings' and 'The Look of Love'. Excellent.

Direi un nuovo brano che suona dentro il brano già in esecuzione, in una fusione nell'insieme azzeccata che arricchisce ulteriormente il tutto! E poi il finale a sorpresa, secondo me emozionante della cantante rap che torna alla chiusura salutando con: bye, bye Mr Brown, come a chiudere una fantastica storia!! Pezzo a mio avviso ancora attualissimo malgrado siano passati oltre trent'anni! Complimenti ABC!!!
Their best album after the Lexicon of Love---I always thought ABC were massively under rated in their influence on 80 s music--this track sounds fresh today !!
Listen more carefully...the rap blended in perfectly and made the typical ABC-sound fit for a new era...a brilliant popsong and one of the many examples of the former century, of how to make a 12" differ from the radio version.. chapeau :)

Lady Contessa V was credited for the rap - beautiful is'nt it! This version was an additional track on the original cassette on the '87 release, classed as the extended mix of the single. It's certainly the Rolls Royce version... dated but classic ; D
@carabaopowers NOPE! The actual 12" 45 rpm disc - as are ALL of the tracks on this channel. Bit scratchy, this one - as someone pointed out - but not heard often these days. Some 12" mixes were lame - just the 7" mix, with a few extra repeated riffs. But this and all others here are MORE than their 7" mixes.
Saw them last night in London, this was opening tune. Martins voice is still spot on.
