God I wish I had room in my water-closet of a bedroom for all these figures. I swear, Star Wars has all the best looking Hot Toys. I mean, lack of space won't stop me, but... yeah, it's becoming an issue to say the least. I wish I could afford to get my own place... -_-
I've noticed that the cloak from the Hot Toys Darth Maul fits perfectly on the Sideshow Naboo Darth Maul. Like it was made for him. Looks fantastic!!! Also the leather pieces in the gloves are completely useless. All you need to do is push up the gauntlets as close to the hands as possible and there's barely any gap. And it's not a pain in the ass to change out hands.
No led lighting saber on this video damnnn i was waiting for that function and closer look to the headschulpt how you twist the eyes and eye painting and i wish it where the small base figurestand and can you show in the next video the halogram on the obi deluxe table with darthsidious and anakin on the table to but i cant wait for this figure hoping for padme qui gonn jin 3cpo chewbacca mace windu keep it going dude

The Hot Toys head sculpt is far more accurate especially the paint apps on the face, eyes and tattoos are much more movie accurate. Do a screen shot of Darth Maul and you will see that the Sideshow version totally screwed up on Mauls tattoos which is unforgivable 👍🏻
The Hot Toys figure is a superior product, the likeness is more accurate to Ray Park, the actor who played Darth maul and not simply the idealised version of the character like what was done with sideshow
I’m definitely gonna get this for my shelf and will almost complete my dark vs light side setting as I have all the sith and general grevious then all the Jedi and characters from the light side as well and troopers on each side just wanting an Obi wan Kenobi to be released thanks for the review !!!
Best thing about this is that you can just buy another body and clothing. Now you have 2 darth maul figures, one for museum posing and another for dynamic posing. Or you could make a custom clonewars maul with the mechanical legs.

I love this figure, I recently got CW Ahsoka and it has been fun posing her with this guy, would you revisit this figure in the future? Since your style has changed over time I'd say Maul deserves it!
Nicely done again Justin. My biggest gripe is the two tiny parts to hook saber on hip. Should have been a magnet. Those parts will be lost by so many collectors and they do not hold weapon to hip securely at all. Hands constantly fall off with those covers on wrist pegs. Cloak will stay in box as it’s not impressive as you said. Love the sculpts though. New eye moving tool is ok but pretty tough to get eyes perfectly aligned.

I don’t understand why people keep saying the sideshow headsculpt is better. Yes, the Hot toys one is a little ‘wide’ and is not perfect but the overall detail and paint just outclasses Sideshow’s (in term of accuracy as well).
It's far better and its not too wide, take a look at Ray Park this is a spot on likeness to him. Sideshow is based on the idea of Maul not the actor himself.

I was wondering if anyone had some advice on taking out the hand pegs without breaking them? I've already broke three of Maul's hand pegs I'm always very careful taking the hands off. And I have two of Maul's hands that have the pegs stuck into them. Any help would be appreciated. I'm afraid to re-pose him now. I was also curious if Vaseline would help to put on the end of both sides of the pegs to help them not be so tight they break?

The average price on a used one these days is around 600 and around 800 for a new one. The chances to find one under 400 is extremely slim but I guess never give up hope in case someone with a good heart, or don't care about market prices, decides to sell. Good luck finding one my friend!

Maul does appear in hologram form but it doesn't make sense for the Maul fig to have it. When in the film is Maul ever holding a hologram of himself?

The paint apps and less seam lines on the Hot Toys version makes this figures headculpt far more appealing than Sideshows offering.

@@Punisher6654 I disagree,i think the likeness is better on the Hot Toys version, also the true type body they use on Hot Toys figures is superior to the Sideshow body they use plus you get a whole lot more accessories, extra head sculpt, articulated eyes, cloak,etc etc......making this version a lot better in almost every way but if you are happy with your Sideshow figure..... cool👍🏻
@@bobavader1862 I disagree the likeness is better on the Sideshow one and as for the body it looks all wrong because stupid Hot Toys put a FAT SUIT on this body which was not needed and it's making him look fat looking, I never knew Darth Maul to be a fat dude as the actor that played Darth Maul is skinny , the Sideshows version the body looks more accurate looking and that's because SIDESHOW did not use a stupid FAT SUIT unlike HOT TOYS .The only thing that I will agree with you on is that the HOT TOYS come with more stuff.
@@Punisher6654 A fat suit can be removed rather easily, but i was talking more about the actual quality of the body,STUPID SIDESHOW under body's are renowned for being poor quality. The dude who played Darth Maul is actually called Ray Park and he was far from skinny but very toned and athletic. Even the tailoring on the Hot Toys version is far superior. Sideshow keeps trying to charge Hot Toys prices but their quality and lack of accessories nearly always falls short.The version you have of Maul is the Naboo version right? What was one of the first things he done in Naboo before battling with Obi and Qui??? Thats right remove his cloak which your version didn't even come with! Be happy with your Sideshow version man.
