I went to college there in 2016, I spent 12 weeks there, I used to see shadows sometimes in my room and in the hallway and in a couple of classrooms over in the hangars, one night a group of us asked for the squash court keys acting like we wanted to play squash but when we got in there we were getting pieces of gravel thrown at us in the left court from through the doorway and my mate got a picture of a man hanging in a noose in the viewing gallery above the court, and a chair somehow got from the top of the stairs to the bottom silently, the whole place is crawling with ghosts and wierd vibes over in the gym is wierd too, it's like your not alone in there
Having served in the RAF for 10 years and having worked on aircraft in hangers, I’m fairly confident I know what the unidentified sound at the 12:04 point is: It is the sound of a drip-tray being dragged over concrete. As a light piece of aluminium it makes a 'roaring' sound, especially amplified when within a hanger....
I have been searching for this recording for about 25 years! I first heard it on some discovery channel ghost documentary in the mid nineties when I was a lad and it scared the life out of me and I've been hoping to hear it again ever since lol. I have searched and searched and today I find this. Thank you. The bit where John sutton channels the ghost of Dusty Miller is creepy as hell and affected me deeply as a kid.....I've never forgotten it. I'm Norfolk born and bred also so this fascinates me.
I had an experience there, part way through my year long course in 1986/87, that resulted in me sleeping with the light on for the remainder of the time that I was at the college. One night, shortly after turning my light off and turning onto my front to go to sleep, I was physically pushed down into the bed by what felt like a hand place flat and firm between my shoulder blades and then released. It took me what seemed like an age for me to pluck up the courage to quickly turn over and fumble for the switch of my bedside lamp to find nothing at all was there!! The contact was as real as any normal physical experience one might normally expect to sense. I could tell you the exact room and location but I don't want to unduly spook any subsequent students to occupy it. I have long since attempted to rationalise what had happened that night and at times almost convinced my self that there must be a reasonable explanation, but without total success. I'm telling you now that what I have just described here definitely happened, as sure as eggs are eggs.
sunglassesjohn you have just sent shivers down my spine I stayed there in 1990 on a scaffolding course, the first few nights there I kept waking up thinking someone had come into my room, but being a heavy sleeper never quite woke up, then one night the same feeling woke me up, this time I got a strong feeling someone was standing over me at the side of the bed, when I tried to turn over I was pushed down into the bed by my head, I just fucking froze, I couldn't quite turn enough to see someone barring what just looked like a shadow in my peripheral vision, I went home for the weekend and nearly never went back, I did but slept with the light and TV in every night, I've always known I wasn't dreaming and reading about your experience has brought it all back.

This recording was made by the Enfield parapsychic research group which i was a member,i was not with them this night but i did visit at a later date and we recorded similar activity. Members of the group were The Ghost hunters Ron Russell, John Faye, and myself on other hunts we were accompanied by Maurice Grosse who investigated the Enfield poltergeist.

Thanks for sharing this, it's fascinating. My dad used to play squash on the courts in the 70s, whilst my brother and I played with toy cars in the viewing gallery. I remember being extremely uneasy in the right hand court gallery, and I was certain someone unseen was coming up the stairs. I knew nothing about the hauntings at the time, and it wasn't until I was an adult and read some of the stories on the internet that I could tie them to my experiences.
@@Pobotrol it is supposed to be haunted by a crew that used to play on the court they joked that if anything happened to them they would meat up there, they failed to return from a maritime reconnaissance flight. There is a museum on part of the old base now only opens about one day a month .

Wow - this takes me back. My mum and I listened to the Jack de Manio radio broadcast back in 1972, and I have never forgotten the recordings, although I had long since forgotten the details. Was reminded of the haunting after re-purchasing Andrew Green's 'Our Haunted Kingdom' book which includes Bircham Newton in the section on Norfolk.
I was there doing a Engineering surveyor training course 5 years long.I seen lights and sounds there at night,i even heard aircraft engines but it was the lights i couldnt get over,i would walk about pitch black and its one spooky place,my room which was the second dorm from the bottom picture,The doors would bang open i even had a loud bang on the door when i was thr only 1 in the dorm.100 % haunted but in a good way.
I started my carpentry apprenticeship here in the Summer of 77.Stayed in C block room 4 Loved it especially the drunken walk back from The King William in Docking in the pitch black !!!!!! Oh to be 16 again
Stayed there 1979-80. Experienced a few creepy things. The room on the floor above me in B block was only used for stores due to some previous happening in it. One fellow on the course left after some figure appeared in his room one night. Another time we left the bar and decided to spend the night in the squash courts - one of the gang fell asleep so we sneaked out and left him to his fate. LOL
Not sure what that proves, it could have been recorded anywhere. I work there and yes, there are rumours of the squash courts being haunted. An airman was said to have committed suicide there. The squash courts are close to a housing estate (which was there in the 60's), next to the Birches and not far from the main road. There are also other airfields close by. It is also said that an airman died when a plane crashed at the airfield. There have been no recent incidents. The officers mess is now a RAF museum and really worth a visit. I have never heard the story about the aircraft never returning.
I did the construction course for the year 74/75 in E block I knew nothing of this stuff and had no experiences whatsoever... other than a good time with a bunch of young lads I think the place has closed now
Very interesting.I can find no record of the USAAF ever using Bircham Newton for operations although RAF Swanton Morley just down the road was used for some of their earliest missions. I have found a record of an Avro Anson crash at Bircham on 9,May,1939-It belonged to 220 Squadron, its serial number was K6210 the crew of three were killed-their names were,Sgt.Riddell(23),Sgt. Peackock(26) and Cpl.Samson(38).The aircraft collided with Anson K6225 but all on board landed safely.
One aircraft crashed that took two girlfriends up with then. Their bodies were recovered and put in the squash courts. Could be one of those ladies that visits or could be just another WAAF but definitely females there.
used to rent a ww2 building on Parham airfield and i had a break in and then theft of fuel so i decided to sleep over ,inside the building catch sight of the thief . As i lay there on a camp bed i started to hear noises, probably a bird walking on the roof ,then a metallic noise , they went on and on.Another hour i had enough and ran out got in my vehicle and went home ! Same year a farmer had a gas bottle stolen from a bird scarer on the airfield, what was weird was there was bike tracks across the dirt someone had cycled over a newly seeded field to get it

A very interesting story but regretfully undermined by the claim that USAAF lost all 13 aircraft on one raid on France impossible as this was only coastal command base in ww2 and no USAAF squadron ever had a total loss
Certainly interesting, with a touch of the 'Most Haunted' and Derek about it. It's great entertainment but if the Enfield Poltergeist crew was involved, there's all the more reason for scepticism.
Very interesting video it had me captivated, however I’m not sure if I’m convinced it’s true so easily could be faked. Can anyone on here please tell me where I can buy one of these listening to dead people pieces of equipment?
