Russell agreed to do the show. Even if he didn't like it, he still agreed. There are ways you can avoid being on the show (and even talked about on the show) which Russell should have investigated further if he was so uncomfortable with it. Second, if you didn't like the show, and you had concerns about your portrayal on the show, the last thing you'd be doing is beating your wife. Clearly the reason he didn't like the show is because it put the spotlight on their marriage which was clearly strained and clearly under Russell's authority. I don't even like Taylor but I don't blame her for finding the show as somewhat of an aid to help her in her struggles. There's simply no defence for Russell here.
Safina Tee Are you being serious? How the fuck are we justifying his suicide? What we said is this, we understand why Taylor chose to do the damn show.
i have been abused and don't want to diminish anyone's story and i always believe what they have to say but this time its so different..taylor loves the spotlight and has said she would give anything not to go back to being poor so quite honestly i have to agree that taylor is exaggerating and making up stories to make him look bad and therefore people are taking his death with more of a "good riddance" attitude which is absolutely not okay. don't hate..im not about that, this is just what i have seen and it kinda seems like she took her stories from her abuse with her father (or mother's husband...idk for sure if it was a biological relative) and replaced him with Russell..for instance we never saw her jaw broken and no bruises anywhere and even the housewives said they never saw that from him so it really seems like she told stories about her early childhood abuse and claimed it was Russell..it's odd that the cameras didn't catch his "abuse" once not even a hint of it...being awkward or wanting to go home or wanting to work doesn't make you abusive. idk i just really think she's a little twisted and we shouldn't believe everything we hear.
This season hasn't aged well at all. The constant victim blaming of Taylor is heartbreaking and Bravo were so reckless with how they produced this. My heart broke for her... and for Kim... (like it does every season that she is pulled on and used for content). Both girls were not truly truly supported. I will credit LVP for calling it and believing Taylor. Even her polite way of saying that she could never connect with him and avoided throwing in sympathetic thoughts around his suicide. Well neither could I. He was an abuser. They should have called it as it was. He threatened Taylors life and could have killed her and his daughter. This meeting never should have been given the air time in the first place.
Uh blatantly left out in your little paragraph that he is actually dead bc the abuse was now on national television and realized and he could hide no more from who he really was . The first 3 seasons of RHOBH is legit the realest and most dramatic of any franchise. Possible of any reality television show. This was before glam squads and before it became necessary to create dramatic reactions and storylines. The natural real-life events surrounding these housewives was shown as it was and a lot was truly going on that happens across America and the world. It was relatable to an extent but also fascinating but in a sad and disturbing way at times. Today it’s all glamour and nonsense. Anything to not actually really talk about anyones personal business. The problem with the mostly bland drama on the franchises today is that many have become actual celebrities since the debut of the real housewives and the rise of social media and instant reaction after it airs. Many of todays housewives don’t want to bring their personal stuff onto the show because they don’t want to be judged on social media and swarmed with reactions instantly. When these shows first started social media was extremely minimal, almost like emailing - we got on the PC to use it. We were still using bar phones by the majority in 2007-2010.
Social media wasn’t big then, now it’s everything and I believe that’s what’s really ruined the Housewives.., lol I say ruined but I’m still watching 😂
@@RWRogers Nah, Jersey been top tier since season 1, thanks to Teresa and Danielle! NeNe got ATL jumped off! And season 6 was the highest rated Housewives season of all franchises. BH got good to me when Brandi joined. But the first two seasons of BH was about wealth and glam. And Camille was such a perfect villain!
This is facts bro. Camille divorce, russel being and abuser, Kim being addicted to pills. Pretty much covered all the basis for 2010’s real life struggles
That’s the different between rich people and wealthy people. Rich people are more desperate hold on to their status. Wealthy people have it, are comfortable and secure in it, and don’t let it define them.
This scene has been removed from streaming services completely. Its so confusing watching the show where Taylor said shes getting a divorce straight into the reunion where they talk about his suicide. Nothing is referenced in the show it was all cut on reruns.
HIS mental health? You don't get to physically abuse someone for years and then cry that they don't care about your mental health when they leave you and move on with their life smdh. This is absurd, why would his suicide stop her? Literally all objections are gone! (and good riddance, his suicide was probably the kindest thing he'd done in years).
There’s documented proof of the bruises he gave her, and the reconstruction surgery she had to undergo after one of his beatings. Friends have also come out and recounted times Russell was violent with Taylor in front of them. Bravo themselves even said they had to edit a lot of his controlling and threatening behavior out. Plenty of evidence to show the abuse was true
I think it was good that they continued the show. It would be unfair to pretend it just didn't happen. Suicide happens quite a lot unfortunately. I've lost four friends in the last two years, its a terrible thing to go through. But this reality show is about showing these peoples lives and this is something they went through. In saying that i would have wished that maybe they took a step back on showing him and taylor for most of the season. Especially showing so much about the violence.
Does anyone know what Episode and season this is ??? For some reason I feel it’s mentioned for a second at the end of season 1 and then not on the rest of the episodes on Hulu
I do too.. she was a good voice of reason and she got screwed over by everyone except Kyle and Camille... Adrienne was the best!!! The original cast is always the best
Thank you for posting this. I am watching season 2 on Amazon Prime and when I got to the last episode I was like, whaaaat?? Russell's death??? For some strange reason they deleted this scene from episode 1, so episode 20 made zero sense until I found this clip on RUclips.
Male outrage, Russell was an adult, he didn't have to be on the show. He had more problems than people knew, I feel sorry for his wife and child, but you can't blame them!
I wonder why they cut this from Hulu- I was so confused about what happened that I had to come to RUclips. I hope that Taylor & Kennedy are doing well now, and I hope they are safe and healing each day. 💘
I had to rewatch both episodes where the recap to this scene was played and I couldn't even find the damn thing till I googled it. I thought I'd go bananas!!!!
My dad killed himself two months ago and no one- NO ONE could tell me or convince me anything anyone else had done would have changed his choice. He made terrible decisions and betrayed the loyalty of everyone he knew and the family he created- then killed himself rather than face his image being tarnished and the facade being broken. This is something that SHOULD be brought awareness to.
Watching this in 2024 i remember how Camille got DRAGGED for exposing the abuse on tv. As someone else rightly commented here, abusers survive in the dark. I now believe that Camille may have saved Taylor's life with that one comment.
Why do they make it seem like she is lying. From someone who was in a very physically abusive relationship, people stay. That doesn't mean that the abuse isn't happening. It is so complex, and especially with children and finances. Luckily I eventually got out, but it takes time and opportunity to do so.
That is soooo true! I was also a victim of an abusive relationship, you just have to wait and see, unless you want to lose your own life. Many victims lost their lives because of not being "careful", you are living with an monster, that's all, they are not "normal", they don't act in a normal way.
That part upset me too. The fact that they portrayed her as a liar because she didn't leave right away. That is the most typical behaviour ever for an abused woman. ESPECIALLY one who grew up in a household where abuse was par for the course. I've stayed in abusive relationships before, sadly, especially in my early 20s, because I saw and felt that sort of thing as a tiny child, so my threshold for mistreatment isn't as low as it should be. It really hurt to experience the suspicion and the doubt the first time it happened when I confided in my friends. I'm glad my closest friends believed me or I might not have found the courage to leave when I did.
@@Benyikoko it's probably because Taylor loves Kennedy more than anything in the world and focusing on an elaborated birthday party gave her also some rest from thinking about how horrible her situation with her husband was. I work in Mental Health, as an RN with Psychiatric Doctors and I have been told by these Drs that at times suicide is a violent statement. Especially how they died, whom they planned to find them and what was written in the suicide note. Russell’s suicide note was that briefcase of his secrets, maybe saying “fuck you Taylor, look what I did behind your back.” Also when partners accuse you of something that’s untrue, it’s usually because they are doing it themselves. She was bashed for “perceived” secrets. I’m sorry but if he continued to be that violent towards her, he did her a favour, intentional or non-intensional. I do feel for people that are suicidal but this instance was guilt or trying to make Taylor feel like shit... and she doesn’t so GOOD FOR TAYLOR!!!!!! No one killed Russel but himself. 😘
Imagine calling all of your friends over to support each other after your others friends husband commits suicide, but you don’t invite the actual friend who it happened to?
This brought back so many sad memories for me. My father committed suicide when I was 18. He didnt leave a note either to say why. I was distraught and couldnt get past it until I was much older and had the life experiences that lead to such a place when I lost my son. It was those feelings that I remembered having that stopped me from going down into such a dark place. It is easy to be angry with someone when they kill themselves but they are in a very dark place and dont think rationally.
I just watched seasons 1 & 2 for the first time, on Netflix. This footage wasn’t included. Is this from something else that aired or was it cut from the series I wonder?
Taylor the entire season fed information to all of them so it was hard for them not to speak of it on camera. It could have been that Taylor’s only way out was for someone to expose it. Some of the ladies were frustrated because she would say one thing and then say another. Camille called her out perfectly, she needed out. Camille kinda saved her?
I'm watching rhobh for the first time and just finished season 2. They don't have this footage on the premiere at all nor do they mention it at all until the end of the finale 3 weeks after Pandora's wedding when Kyle says "This is the first time I've seen Taylor since Russell died", I had to rewind. Then in the reunion part 1 they talked about his suicide and the decision to "run the episode." Very confusing. I've watched VPR since season one and while it's on it's break figured I'd watch rhobh.
M&M 66 I’ve watched the show since season1. When season 2 was aired they showed this clip first having the Housewives talk about Taylor and they spoke about Russel taking his own life.
@@juanarambul6101 Yeah. Sometimes you can only see certain things in an episode if you watch it during the actual release date. I don’t know why but I’ve found that sometimes over time the producers might cut things out of an episode. It just happens sometimes I guess 🤷♀️

Because he died on August 15, 2011. They recorded that scene on August 29, 2011. If you pay attention to the beginning when they all show up to the house it says the date of this scene.
I only started the series during quarantine. Kyle drives me bananas she's such an instigator. But did they show this part on the series I must've missed it.
That's because she's close to the producers. She basically casted most of the crew and where most of the ladies were just partly scripted into the scenes, Kyle was sort of the instigator of the entire narrative. She thinks she'd being low key about it while in fact everyone can see how she's practically the writer of the show, otherwise the ladies would get along just fine. When brandi first got into the show, of course the drama had to be Kyle. Also, Mauricio is such a little girl for chatting with his wife and her girlfriends about high school girl stuff. What grown man does that!? 😂
@@Yourhighnessnona oh that makes sense no wonder she's so involved in all of the drama! I can't believe what she puts her sister thru in the show publicly it's very sad. I'm on Season 6 having trouble pushing thru with all the drama all the time geesh.
SusanBrooklyn anger is a normal part of grief, especially when dealing with a death by suicide. It’s hard to put ourselves in the position of someone who is so mentally gone, whereas being rational as Mauricio is, he’s thinking about his own family and feels it is “selfish” to leave them. Obviously suicide isn’t selfish and those people need help, but people who are grieving go through those emotions and have those feelings and it’s totally normal.
I work on suicide hot lines and one thing in all my years counseling, comforting and helping people who need psychological counseling, I can say, if a person is suicidal there is NEVER just one person, place or thing that can be blame for why suicide was a perfect option! So sad he couldnt get some objective perspective realise he needed help. Imo, no one person can MAKE another that depressed that they no longer see suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. I pray and reassure to everyone that has been touched by suicide one way or another, if you feel guilty or to blame....its just not necessary and you can drop that burden. Forgive yourselves....there was no stopping that growing that snowball that was in the works for a very long time! 💞
No he was an abuser. His was abusing his wife he could have switch to the kids. Good thing he doesn’t have the occasion to do that now ! How many suicide BECAUSE OF people abusing them. It’s the victims that you need to save not the predator. You would have help a monster feel good after what he did and then he would have do it all again. What’s the point? The girls needed to be saved. The show saved them. Who could see how fragile Taylor was. You know kids either become an abuser because of their father or the exact opposite. And theirs kids could have been abuser too by repeating his dad action etc. It’s a circle. They destroy families and people. Nothing good comes out.
This is a horrible situation to be in PERIOD. Rather you are being abused or the abuser on National Television! This subject was hinted at time and time again. No one wins here, ESPECIALLY their daughter. Nothing else matters.
ComancheBrat I respect the way you stated the plain facts without throwing in critical judgement on either side of the coin. You made the most mature comment on this page.
The series itself was filmed and released before his death but this short scene was filmed after. If you look at Kim and Adrienne's clothes in the little scenes where they talk to the camera they're wearing the same clothes.
The his choice is how I feel about people who commit suicide. To some people it may be selfish but to the person they just wanna stop hurting and they just can’t take it anymore.
You could tell by the way he always acted like he was better than everyone else that he had serious issues. Also then the fact that everyone knew he hit his wife etc. Some people are just prone to depressive episodes and I can image how it happened but it is wrong to do that to his daughter.
I remember seeing this before the release of the season, but, I hadn’t seen this on any re-airings (is that a word?) but I think that it’s great to be able to see how they, as a cast, came together to discuss a topic that is very taboo
That description (that’s a male for sure who described the summary of the video) written below the video clearly that person doesn’t know the abuse and self centered russell was before he hung himself. Taylor had to get re-construction surgery on her eye because of russell punching her. He was verbally and physical abusive towards Taylor. So who cares if for once Taylor decides to do what she wants. And if that’s to keep on filming, then that’s fine. And no one should make Taylor feel guilty for keeping up still with filming.
Taking your own life is not freaking selfish! It's theur own life. It's selfish for people to force people to live who are absolutely hopeless and miserable. Emotional, mental or physical pain affects people differently. Not everyone is strong enough to deal with it.

I agree. Taylor even said she jumped at the chance of appearing on the show, because at least the cameras would offer some protection.
What a sad and pathetic opinion. Someone has killed themselves and you pathetic people are justifying it.
Safina Tee Are you being serious? How the fuck are we justifying his suicide? What we said is this, we understand why Taylor chose to do the damn show.
i have been abused and don't want to diminish anyone's story and i always believe what they have to say but this time its so different..taylor loves the spotlight and has said she would give anything not to go back to being poor so quite honestly i have to agree that taylor is exaggerating and making up stories to make him look bad and therefore people are taking his death with more of a "good riddance" attitude which is absolutely not okay. don't hate..im not about that, this is just what i have seen and it kinda seems like she took her stories from her abuse with her father (or mother's husband...idk for sure if it was a biological relative) and replaced him with Russell..for instance we never saw her jaw broken and no bruises anywhere and even the housewives said they never saw that from him so it really seems like she told stories about her early childhood abuse and claimed it was Russell..it's odd that the cameras didn't catch his "abuse" once not even a hint of it...being awkward or wanting to go home or wanting to work doesn't make you abusive. idk i just really think she's a little twisted and we shouldn't believe everything we hear.
caesar brighton not a suicide ,things don't add up
This season hasn't aged well at all.
It was the most riveting season of all the housewife franchises.

the fact that your video description defends this guy is disgusting. I don’t care how old the video is, the man abused her and when Taylor was going to make this public, he went and took his own life. Suicide is an awful thing but you cannot blame the victim of the abuser for the abusers decisions

Legit, realest and more dramatic than RHOA and RHONJ in their early seasons? CHILE, SIT DOWN!
@@RWRogers Nah, Jersey been top tier since season 1, thanks to Teresa and Danielle! NeNe got ATL jumped off! And season 6 was the highest rated Housewives season of all franchises. This is facts bro. Camille divorce, russel being and abuser, Kim being addicted to pills. Pretty much covered all the basis for 2010’s real life struggles
Kyle says it all. I live through the same thing in NYC. It's important to be around ambitious people, but not people who LIVE for money and status.

This scene has been removed from streaming services completely. Its so confusing watching the show where Taylor said shes getting a divorce straight into the reunion where they talk about his suicide. Nothing is referenced in the show it was all cut on reruns.
Yeah. Because suicide is “triggering.”
THIS it’s definitely not on Hulu
Ok this makes sense. I thought I was going crazy ! Bravo shouldn't have removed it. It's real life. That's what they're portraying right?
HIS mental health? You don't get to physically abuse someone for years and then cry that they don't care about your mental health when they leave you and move on with their life smdh. This is absurd, why would his suicide stop her? Literally all objections are gone! (and good riddance, his suicide was probably the kindest thing he'd done in years).
Amber heard is all I’m going to say no1 knows if it’s true
There’s documented proof of the bruises he gave her, and the reconstruction surgery she had to undergo after one of his beatings. Friends have also come out and recounted times Russell was violent with Taylor in front of them. Bravo themselves even said they had to edit a lot of his controlling and threatening behavior out. Plenty of evidence to show the abuse was true
It’s an incel channel. What do you expect?
I think it was good that they continued the show. It would be unfair to pretend it just didn't happen. Suicide happens quite a lot unfortunately. I've lost four friends in the last two years, its a terrible thing to go through. But this reality show is about showing these peoples lives and this is something they went through. In saying that i would have wished that maybe they took a step back on showing him and taylor for most of the season. Especially showing so much about the violence.
RHOBRAVO he did every body a favor.. scumbag
They said they re-edited the season but if that's the case I wonder what they cut out cus there's still tons of awful footage of him in this season
Does anyone know what Episode and season this is ??? For some reason I feel it’s mentioned for a second at the end of season 1 and then not on the rest of the episodes on Hulu
I really miss Adrienne on the show

I had to rewatch both episodes where the recap to this scene was played and I couldn't even find the damn thing till I googled it. I thought I'd go bananas!!!!
Which episode is this??
They eliminated this scene but for why?
My dad killed himself two months ago and no one- NO ONE could tell me or convince me anything anyone else had done would have changed his choice. He made terrible decisions and betrayed the loyalty of everyone he knew and the family he created- then killed himself rather than face his image being tarnished and the facade being broken. This is something that SHOULD be brought awareness to.
How are you doing?
Adrienne was one of the best housewives ever. She's a massive miss
Watching this in 2024 i remember how Camille got DRAGGED for exposing the abuse on tv. As someone else rightly commented here, abusers survive in the dark. I now believe that Camille may have saved Taylor's life with that one comment.
I love Camille!!! She is a girl's girl
How did they make this about them?
Thats humans for you...the most vile creations

The fact they cut this out of the hulu version lol
I'm watching rhobh for the first time and just finished season 2. They don't have this footage on the premiere at all nor do they mention it at all until the end of the finale 3 weeks after Pandora's wedding when Kyle says "This is the first time I've seen Taylor since Russell died", I had to rewind. Then in the reunion part 1 they talked about his suicide and the decision to "run the episode." Very confusing. I've watched VPR since season one and while it's on it's break figured I'd watch rhobh.

Your assessment of Kyle is spot on and she only gets more annoying and vile as the seasons go on.

I don't agree with Mauricio. How can he judge the person taking their life as selfish?! People who commit suicide do it because living hurts too much.
Suicide doesn’t stop the hurt. It passes it on to everyone you’ve ever known instead.
He sucked tho
He had a wife n kids whom he left to fend for themselves without so much as a note...sounds kinda selfish

Nothing else matters.

im confused tho..the last scene is a disclaimer saying this was shot before his suicide...how is that possible when they're talking about his suicide?
The series itself was filmed and released before his death but this short scene was filmed after. If you look at Kim and Adrienne's clothes in the little scenes where they talk to the camera they're wearing the same clothes.
Yeah I was lost on that too lol glad I wasn’t the only one confused!
He was a pretty terrible man who beat the hell out of his wife . He did this shit to himself and he alone is responsible for his decision
Kyle always makes sure she has to be most sad, the most concerned, the most emotional.
"It was his choice" wasn't very sympathetic considering the state of mind a person has to reach to end their existence.
I think she’s just an emotional person. People can be naturally emotional you know.
