Yeah, they're awesome! Typically, they will hit anything if you find the right depth, but once in a while they'll humble you when you think you've got them dialed in.
11 inch flasher and a hoochie (squid) 25-35 inches behind it is tough to beat for Bull Trout. Yeah, you can catch them trolling spoons too I am told, but I never have. We use Lyman plugs, Apex (Hockey Sticks), and Flasher/Hoochie
