I agree with all of the other commenters… This is absolutely the very best video I have watched on cleaning the Mockmill and how to set the stones properly. Thank you so much! I've been milling my grains for a little over a year and sure wish I had seen this when I started :-) Great job!!! I love how thorough you are in your teaching, and the sounds you make, make perfect sense to me 😊 I'm subscribing to your channel as soon as I hit send on this comment.

That’s by far the best cleaning demonstration of the Mockmill I have seen and I have watched a lot of videos about the Mockmill!

I am really enjoying your videos! I am learning right now about all things milled. My Mockmill 200 was ordered in early January, and I missed the first backorder “catchup.” Now it will be the end of March and I pray I make it into that batch shipment. Meanwhile I am making bread, maturing my sourdough, getting to know my Ank, and learning all I can. Your videos are just what I need. Thank you! (And greetings from a fellow Texan.)

Ps add a small pan of hot water think 1/4 inch inchin a pie plate before i bake allows your bread to rise a bit more

I just received my Mockmill 200, and I've made pancakes, a coffee cake and 4 loaves of whole wheat honey bread. The first grind for the pancakes had lots of sandy grit. After running about six cups of white rice through, the next batch was better but still some grit. I've readjusted the stones several times using a variety of tutorials. The four loaves of bread were greatly improved, bit still some grit in each slice. I'm going to do your cleaning now and try another bake of bread. Can you suggest anything else? I had such high hopes for this machine!

I'm so sorry you are having this trouble! Mockmills are a great machine. The white rice should have cleaned anything on it out. By grit, can you see it, or just feel a small crunch every now and again while chewing? Without knowing more, I can suggest making sure your stones are not touching too much while grinding, you just want to hear a slight "tic tic tic" sound when milling, too close and it could break off tiny pieces of stone. If you have wheat berries grown in a particularly dry year that could lend to crunchy bits in your bakes. I had that happen to me with a batch of soft white wheat berries. Really though, it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Mockmill has great customer service, if it is a defective stone or anything I'm sure they will replace it.

@@realfoodgoodfood thank you so much for replying! I feel that I have followed all the tutorials suggestions. It's just an occasional crunch that feels like a bit of sand. I tested it on my son and DIL, and they definitely noticed it too. I cleaned and adjusted the mill per your instructions, and I just did ANOTHER batch, about to put it in the oven. Will report back. 😁

@@realfoodgoodfood well, it SEEMS like this batch is grit free. Fingers crossed that it was just an adjustment issue with my new machine! Thank you again!!
