Install - WD Drive Utilities - on the harvester with the bad drive. You should be able to find the SN for the sick drive then check the label on bottom of the enclosure to identify it. I have about 2000 OG plots solo but in the process of replotting with Chia 2.x CudaPlot. Im using a HP Z440 with 256gb ram and an old 1080ti for the gpu compression.. no need for swap drive with the 256g. I setup one harvester so far with ~100 C6 plots testing with an older Quadro M4000 for harvesting. I hope to gain 15-20% with existing storage and get before that elusive 1 month etw. Thanks for sharing.
How do you figure a 3 - 4 year ROI on 1% a month/12% a year. $270 a month * 12 months = $3,240 / year (assuming same price) $27,000 total / $270 a month = 100 months = 8 years 4 months. Is there a formula or an estimated chia forecast you're hopping to achieve to get that 3YR ROI? Thanks in advance!
I would have to rewatch the video and see exactly what I said but I was probably factoring in the compression plots which you can get an extra 50% Of your total hard drive space but easily through the main network you can only gain an extra 30% as of right now. It's also normal practice for me not to want to sell and bear markets And attempt to hold for better prices but again that's more speculation than anything.
@@mo3k Thanks that helped and I was talking about adding more drives to my existing set up which I was accounting for the existing drives to help pay for the new drive is how I came up with that math. So I was not referring to starting from scratch I should have been a bit more clear.
I don't really get this chia stuff It's not good profitability when you consider 2 x Jasminer X16-Q makes 320 a month at 1200 watts for 6000 bucks and takes like 20 seconds to set up and takes like 10% of the shelf space?? Am I missing something?
You're not wrong but with crypto it has a lot to do with your entry point. At least for me I'm not sure about others I got in fairly early and I'm getting much closer to Roi where if you were to buy now it would be very difficult to Roi In a very reasonable time frame and less something drastic where to change in the market. One other thing to keep in mind general purpose hardware Has a higher resel value and is easier to liquid then non general purpose hardware.
say for example.. You found the fault drive and replaced it... Or you wanted to add more hard drives to it.... Do you have to re-plot the ENTIRE amount of drives? Or can you just add drives individually and plot them on their own?
pick the drive up and feel to see if the hhd is spinning. if you move your hand around just a little bit you can feel the drive counter acting your movement. if its not doing it then most likely its your bad one. unplug it and see if your plots went down if not then thats your bad one
@@TheBitcoinMiner really just need enough room lift it off the shelf move one around just a little bit thats easy access and you will see what im talking about you have to remember the plates if they are spinning are going at least 5400 rpm you really only need about an inch space to be honest
Man, that's a pretty crazy investment, i'm just running 26TB, i did not buy anything and it was the best i could do since i did not want to invest anything and just reused HDDs i already owned. I made 5 XCH so far, the SOLO mining phase put me behind quite a lot, they should have came out with farming pool in since day one :( Have a great week ahead my brother 🔥🚀 P.S.: Do like the data-centers, label your drives in order to match the name on the OS :)
They really should have come out with pools that would help a lot of people. I thought about that but because I'm using Windows it seems like it reassigns names to the drive randomly when it restarts although I did not manually mount each drive and assign it a letter.

I watched your setup video and got really interested in USB setup, me also using USB setup for chia farming.🌱

@@TheBitcoinMiner Is cost of electricity counted in $270/month income?
That's a ton of external hard drives! Clean setup though.
你的这些硬盘耗电吗? 我买了64个16T 也是1PB 但只要两个机箱就全部放下了
You're drive is likely not dead. Windows USB has limitations on the number of USBs.

If you lose a drive you can just replot the replacement Drive.
I'm impressed with how well you are doing with a USB setup

That's a pretty good idea I have to get up there and try it and see if it'll work the wires are tight though.

Plug one USB in at a time to find th bad drive.
