If you want to use a Hair Material to Render the Splines, you need to do a workaround: Add a MoSpline Object, set it to "Spline" mode, and drag the "Network" in the "Spline" Tab, Source Spline. Then put the Hair material on the MoSpline. With Redshift it should work without this workaround...
It is not just a network plugin; it is written clean, and I can learn a lot from it. I was messing with scene nodes to recreate the same effect, mainly using the closest point function, but this is the one-click solution! Versatile plugin! Have a wonderful day!
I searched for a possibility to connect objects with splines based on the distance for some time since the tracer is just able to connect them all by count, this is perfect! Thank you very much!!
I was just looking for a tutorial on how to achieve exactly this effect. And I found this video PLUS your amazing channel! Can't wait to binge watch all of your videos, thanks a lot!
This plugin is sooo nice, thank you so much! It really brings a lot of new possibilities to the table ;) Is there a way to render the Network with a Hair Shader - as it works for Splines? What's the easiest way to render the lines, that the Network effect produces? Thank you sooo much!
If you're trying to create a network joining null objects together, it won't work. Rather, create a single point spline object, and it works exactly as expected.
This is so cool. Thanks for the awesome free plugins! I am turning into a spline nerd these days. It's such a fundamental thing in 3D. I also really enjoyed your introduction into spline in C4D. It helped my to understand some of the different spline settings that are actually really important to understand when modeling with splines. Have you checked out Slicer and Mesh to Spline by Rocketlasso? They are quite amazing.
oohh what a great tutorial and great plug in. since you developed it I wonder what an even more perfect plug-in it could be if I could control the thickness of the lines in relation to their distance (maybe use sweep/hair/mospline), so they would slowly fade out when they get a part from each other and not just disappear from in a snap. similar behavior with the plexus plugin of after effect. I would be a better man if you manage to do it 🙏🙏
Well I had an egg this morning and it was a good egg, very much like this plug-in. Had it with toast , it was very nice (the egg not the plug-in) Thanks Athanasios!
@@noseman Thanks so much Noseman. About " for alembics " method that you did say to me on inbox, Can you tell the detail about technique side to explain why "Connect" can discover " Network + rectangle" as a geometry, but Cannot discover " Network alone" as geometry ? I write here because want people also see this, too. Thanks a lot!
another great plugin! the only thing that bothers is that points outside the path / convex shape connect, for example in a star. i will try to find something like a mask or a kill switch
Great plug-in and even greater tutorial, stayed til the end fyi! Had a question tho.. when using sweep with the network splines they draw on in chunks and not smoothly, wondering if there's a way to make it smoother. Maybe more points? Perhaps I should subdivide it once converting it to an object? Just curious. Great stuff, definitely a fan and now following!!
The Network Plugin creates a single unconnected segment for each connection. The problem is that most of the times, there's no logical way to connect these into a single spline as many segments can stem from the same point. You could use a MoSpline in "Spline" mode to resample them but there's no way to connect them in a reasonable fashion...
go to the Cinema 4D root folder (where the application is) and create a "plugins" folder. Copy it in there. Also check out all the other free Plugins I have on my channel...
just like all C4D plugins, copy it either in the Application root folder, inside the "plugins" (create it if it's not there), or the Preferences folder inside the "plugins"
J'ai peur que cela fonctionne après R20. Il utilise des "Fields". Ils n'existent pas dans R19. (Veuillez excuser toute erreur. C'est Google Traduction)

One of my tiny regrets in life is not discovering Noseman earlier in my C4D Journey.
Forgot to mention, this plugin should be compatible with any version after (and including R20) because it uses Fields which where introduced then.

Indeed he is...
This just saved me sooooo much work. Thank you so much! Is there any Patreon link or anywhere I can buy you a coffee?
The best thing you can do is "pay it forward". Help or mentor someone else... and tell them to pay it forward themselves!

Great tutorial and thanks for the plugin🙏🏽❤️, do you have any idea to give it material with octane?

Fantastic. Thank you kindly.
Edit: And I always watch to the end and always give you a thumbs up. Thanks for your work.
You get so much more than an awesome plugin.. the info in this video is just as fantastic.
Extremely cool. Is it possible to bake a complex setup to editable/alembic to save resources and/or reuse the animations/models?
Too much things discovered in this tutorial thank you sir✨

sice ray connector is discontinued, i was looking for a long time for such a plugin
Been waiting for you Noseman! :-)
The maze.. 😂 Thanks again for your cool plugins!
HOLY COW!!!! Excellent
Hi Noseman, hair material does not work with Network...
That is a limitation you can solve by using a MoSpline in Spline Mode. Drag the Network in the "Source Spline"...

Something that prevent the connection which I marked red, outside of the star ⭐️
@@markusg3588 The only control we have besides distance and max connections, are the Fields. Any points outside 50% Field influence will be ignored...

Awesome! Does it work with r2023?
great tutorial! thank you so much. very informative.
Just a question :) - is it possible to make in settings not only "Max Distance" but for example, generate splines between max and min distance?
it is possible, but someone needs to do it in the Python Code...
You are awesome! Thanx, man!!!😄
Much appreciated, thanks for the great work!!
i`m not an egg, you good sir 👍
thank you Noseman
Hi Athanasios thanks for this great plugin, How do you install the plugin in S24?
go to the Cinema 4D root folder (where the application is) and create a "plugins" folder. Copy it in there. Also check out all the other free Plugins I have on my channel...
SOLID stuff!
Thank you so much for this!

dude you are fantastic
Oh that's excellent - nice one :)
thank you for this!

how to install the extensions?
just like all C4D plugins, copy it either in the Application root folder, inside the "plugins" (create it if it's not there), or the Preferences folder inside the "plugins"
one thing i realized is, that it doesnt render as hair like normal splines would do
