Well liberators got splash damage and move faster than Vikings plus Vikings are meant to hit only one target at a time and only meant for large capital ships and corruptors and void rays. I lost too many Vikings to liberators to the point I was forced to build many liberators and a couple cruisers.
Fantastic video. SC2 noob here (Played SC1 back in secondary school, damn near 15 years ago), and I thought liberators were trash! I get it now. Cheers. Wicked voice you have there btw, Indigo. Gonna check out the rest of the unit guides in the playlist!
So true! I've seen some of the professionals set up Siege Tanks to hit something right on the very edge of their range. Being able to eyeball details like that in the heat of a battle is impressive.
@@IndigosGaming I have seen Maru's TvT all you see is vikings patrolling back and forth sige tanks moving up and down an sieging and marines just waiting for tanks to unsige in order to steam and rush to their death.
Cool side note for you Terran players out there. +2 attack Liberators 2 shot vice 3 shot Stalkers and Zealots, 1 shot High Templar. Once +2 and Range is out, they are amazing in TvP since they have the same range as a Tank and do so much DPS. In TvP late-game, they function as your artillery for which the only 2 practical Protoss counters are Tempest and Carriers.
Playing as Kerrigan and these things are a menace. My only anti air are Kerry herself, Hydras, Mutalisk, and Queens. Mass Queens feels memey unless I have a Stukov to supply safe creep everywhere. Mass muta die to the splash on liberators. Hydras can be good if I keep moving them outside the zone but it's impossible to take no losses against an AI that on brutal can trade 1 for 2 and still beat you. And Kerry doesn't do enough damage to them.
Ha! Love the into. If you were to second-guess your decision to visit Native American land, then would me you have a Reservation reservation reservation.
Just started, lvling vs AI, and so far liberator rush, gives me good eco harass, go for double ship spawn, another shipyard for Yamato Canon BCs, seige tanks are great too. (Mech gang go hard!)
To be honest, I'm not entirely convinced of the liberator's worth. It looks like a Jack-of-all-trades, master of none kind of unit. Siege tanks are better at ground combat and vikings are better at air combat. Plus, their freedom zone looks like it can be easily exploited by blink stalkers, stimmed marines, and vipers.
Okay, so only the battlecruiser is for something of the terran airships, you can't win a game with only air troops without having battlecruisers like you could do with Protos.
Battlecruiser is usually the air unit Terrans try to mass, if they wanted mass air units. Banshee + Viking could work well together, but it would take a lot more control / management than if you just made BCs.
Liberators are actually good against mutalisks, phoenixes and Vikings due to their splash damage to large numbers of light units.
I don't think good is the word that I'd go for.

7:10 "go wild with BC"
BC: shoot the main base
Another great video! You should make one of these for ghosts!
Thank you! Sure thing, Ghosts will be the next Terran unit to receive a guide.
TvT is a cat fight trying to figure out where does the enemy range ends and yours starts. Scanning every 2 seconds to see if the enemy moved 1mm .

Pretty much like trench warfare I. WW1, as Terran defensive capacity way outmatch their offensive capacity

Excellently said. Liberators can be supremely helpful, especially in TvP!

Do really note. +atk Liberators can take some large thresholds against Stalkers & Templars.
Use emp and the raven anti armour missile to counter interceptors
hydra and viper only answer as zerg or spores early curropters melt to mass liberator
