Hey Gab! I was just sitting here thinking about your stomach issues, and I remembered you said something about having breast implants. I then remembered my Aunt Linda… she had breast implants too and a ton of stomach issues… she found her implants were leaking into her body…. She had silicon implants. I just wanted to tell you and see if any doctor has checked on that? My Aunt passed away, all her issues were from the leaking implants. They figured it out too late… they couldn’t help her. ( not trying to scare you ) and I’m sure it’s not what’s happening, but worth a check! We love you and want you to be here a long time! Stay healthy my friend!
So glad you've mentioned this even if it's not her case, I've heard so many people with a very similar story or other issues they thought we're immune and mental health issues that ended up being implant caused. Very important and interesting! 💗
I would 100% do an integrated fridge freezer, and if you make it floor to ceiling you can fit a cupboard above and below to house your oven baking trays etc 😊 x
YESS home designer gabby is back. I love seeing your vision come to life. Cant wait to see how it turns out. I live in an apartment so I can’t do anything. So I’ll live through you. This seems like so much fun. I like the wiggly handle - it’s so fun! 😍😍😍😍
Love the kitchen idea! I would go for the layered pulls since they’re more timeless. And don’t you want an integrated fridge? I think that looks so sleek but I know the preference is different in other countries. Love from Amsterdam ❤
What about an intergrated fridge? Would look a lot more sleek and less in your face. Would probably be a plus point for buyers when you come to sell the flat too
Consider doing only one drawer front on your cupboards, and then do the hidden, inner drawers instead. It's a much cleaner look, with less lines, and makes more sense with the washer/drier and dishwasher too. Plus, you'll save money on the drawer pulls, which, if you're renovating on a budget, is an added bonus :)
I know how you feel about not wanting to cook in your kitchen because of how it looks/feels/functions! I'm currently in the middle of renovating my kitchen (hoping to be finished before Christmas) and even though I love to cook and bake, i dreaded it as all of my things were not stored how I wanted them and I couldn't find anything. I hope our new kitchens will give us happiness 😊
Do NOT do knobs. They'll be so inconvenient when your hands are wet or anything. You want a handle that you can hook your clean and dry pinky behind and pull open when needed :D
I’m excited to see how this turns out, I bloody love renovating my houses 😂 a couple of things I’d recommend, firstly is to get an integrated fridge freezer. I can’t tell you how much of an improvement it makes to the look and flow of the kitchen. I also had a larger housing unit installed for my fridge freezer than the actual appliance itself, so I’ve ended up with essentially an extra storage cupboard which is completely hidden to the naked eye, but is so flipping useful! For the handles I’d go with the more classic three layer ones as the wavy ones are gorgeous, but will date really quickly. Also a final tip for the drawers under the sink, just check that there’s enough height to take the sort of cleaning products you have. I made this mistake and have ended up having to store my cleaning products elsewhere because there wasn’t enough height in the unit and clearance under the sink itself to stand them up.
What a thrill, can't wait to watch the reno!! One thing to keep in mind also, is the placement of the fridge; since the door will swing towards the wall, be sure it'll open properly. That becomes annoying when trying to access it. I adore your flat, and the fact you have a great view as well. Kitchen of your dreams coming up! 🙌 💗
I can't believe it's been 5 years either! Everything looks lovely, although I'm sad for no cupboard chats :( My vote is for the 3 layered handles because I like the look AND those would not catch in pockets or belt loops
Loving your kitchen plans, I agree as much as I love a green kitchen it is probably smart to do something more neutral especially if you do not see this as your forever home. I love the galley style kitchen, I agree in a small space this is probably a wonderful layout. I love the Ikea kitchens and I agree that drawers as so smart. It is easier to see what is in a drawer and easier to put away or take out stuff in the drawers. Ikea's drawer cabinets work wonderfully! The brass is a wonderful idea and excited to see how it all turns out. I love your pantry idea as well, great ideas all around, and I think because you have lived in this kitchen you know exactly what it needs. Also you might be able to easily switch out the hardware to brass in the bathroom, I know in America switching the hardware is some of the easiest upgrades without doing a full reno or something more consuming for a quick change.
Need to leave some room between the wall and the fridge so you can open the door of the fridge a bit more than 90°, otherwise removing shelves or access will be hard.
ooo!! very exciting!! can't wait to follow along and see the final result! also, you'll 100% enjoy cooking and being in your kitchen more once you redo it!
Love the look of this. Only thing is…white induction hob will be hard to keep clean. I had one in a flat I rented and the scratch marks show and dirt. Just an idea xx
So excited, finally! I've been there for so long and feels like you bought this apartment yesterday 🥺 And we've all been waiting for the kitchen reno! There's one suggestion I'd do tho, the wiggly handles look really cute and fun but just like the green kitchens, I feel the wiggly trend will go out of style pretty quickly and a more classic choice would'nt bore you too soon... But you said this wasn't going to be your forever kitchen so you can actually have fun with everything! Can't wait for the reno content there are my favourite!!!
Love the new kitchen idea! my advice would be to think twice about the squiggly handles. When we had our kitchen done our builder told us that these types catch on clothes, belt loops etc. I like the layer ones. Just a thought.
My suggestion is an integrated fridge where it basically just looks like the cabinets. You can get cabinet panels for the outside of the fridge. If you don’t plan on staying here, you gotta think about resale. Are the majority of buyers going to want a pink fridge?!? Probably not. And integrated fridges just look so much more upscale, in my opinion. I would also go with the layered pulls, more timeless and once again… resale. The squiggly ones are cute but wouldn’t appeal to as many buyers because they’re super trendy and will probably be out of style in the next week, haha.
In my opinion, not the squiggles and DEF not the knob! Stick with the second one you showed. And as other comments mentioned, perhaps think about an integrated fridge to make it look much more sleek and streamlined.
I would just warn about AO, we had nightmares with them and our fridge they delivered a broken fridge and then left us with no fridge and said the one we wanted was now out of stock (suspiciously when it was on sale) so we could either pick another fridge or get a refund. We ended up having to get it from Curry’s last minute. My friends had a similar story with their fridge and my other friends had their washing machine fitted by AO and it flooded their kitchen. I would also say a fridge is something you’d take if you moved so I’d get the one you love because you can take it to your next home 🩷
The ridges on the options two and three for the hardware are pretty but I feel dirt could get stuck in them easily, making them more difficult to clean.
Not sure if i missed it but is there a spot for your trash can? My mom just redid the kitchen and has hers out while my sister has hers built into a cabinet
I’ll never get a handle again where there is an end section like option 1. My clothes, dressing gown etc just always caught on them! I’ll only get handles which fit at the end so can’t hook myself onto them 😂😂
Marble is pretty but it’s so not practical for a kitchen it stains so easy, quartz is so much easier to keep it’s really hard to stain!. I wouldn’t do knobs on drawers as it’ll be too fiddly to pull! I think the squiggles are cute! I know you said it’s not your forever home but you can always take the fridge with you!!! Live for the now 😜
This is so nice! I got a Samsung fridge freezer which is great- it’s not vintage looking but I was able to go navy and they have the pink panels as well. For tiles I can see the small square tiles working really well - I don’t know if you’re still friends with Lucy wood but hee kitchen tiles are what I thought of. I think the long tiles don’t match the vibe. They say the smeg doesn’t really have space to put anything anyway - I’m all about freezer food 😂 I also like option 2 of your drawer pulls - I can’t imagine touching squiggles every day and it feels very ikea mirror. Check me giving advice when I got my whole kitchen including appliances for £200 off Facebook market place 😂😂
Drawers in cupboards for a seamless look isn’t practical. Not being able to open the drawers without opening a door first takes time. More things to contaminate while cooking and you need something quick from the drawer. They don’t work for corners as doors will be bumping into each other. And if someone’s directly behind they have to move out the way for you to fully open cupboard to open a drawer.
Best thing we did having no upper cupboards and just drawers, just got a couple of wall shelves instead, love everything you’ve picked, those squiggle handles are beaut!❤
Good call on the induction hob. Natural gas is toxic and terrible for the environment. It’s equivalent to having someone smoking in your home. I’m desperate to get rid of mine and run an air purifying any time I’m using it.

thank you for letting me know about this. i'm so sorry to hear about your Aunt Linda. sending love 💕

yes i'm looking into that as a option too! 💕

I second that! Brilliant! 👏
yessssss!

Love this idea! All the lines of the cabinets can look a bit much. One drawer front would look much more streamlined.
I know how you feel about not wanting to cook in your kitchen because of how it looks/feels/functions! The new layout is great! I’m excited for your February content :)
aww thank you 💕
I can't believe it's been 5 years either! Everything looks lovely, although I'm sad for no cupboard chats :( My vote is for the 3 layered handles because I like the look AND those would not catch in pockets or belt loops
Your airfryer will be a god send when you have your kitchen done
don't go with the squiggle handle. it's too trendy and honeslty i see it being out of style tomorrow. Id suggest the three layered one

Obsessed with your eye for interior design, I wish I was creative like that! Also super cute illustrations, gonna be so fun to see it progress
Need to leave some room between the wall and the fridge so you can open the door of the fridge a bit more than 90°, otherwise removing shelves or access will be hard.
I would do an integrated fridge. The smeg looking fridge doors are thick and cant open towards the wall.
You have such an eye for design! It’s gonna look so good!
i loveeee the second handle option omg. also what if you kept your current fridge and see if you can do a cabinet panel over it so it just blends in?
ooo!! very exciting!! can't wait to follow along and see the final result! also, you'll 100% enjoy cooking and being in your kitchen more once you redo it!
ohh i'm excited! i remodeled my kitchen two years ago and went with ikea too. no complaints there so good choice on your part haha
I looooove when the counters and backsplash is the same. Easier to clean than tiles as well! Squiggly handles have my vote!
So excited for the new kitchen! Looking forward to the final result
💕💕💕
This excites me so much as I’ve love your moving and reno videos
I like the second ones you have mention (handles for the kitchen 😂) loove this video by that way ❤ and your new kitchen is going to be fabulous 😍
Love the look of this. Only thing is…white induction hob will be hard to keep clean. I had one in a flat I rented and the scratch marks show and dirt. Just an idea xx

The squiggle handles made me think of crinkle cut chips haha I like them

This is so exciting! Love a reno moment!! Also, I think you can make polls in the community posts on RUclips 💗💗
How exciting!! You’ve picked great stuff!! ❤
💕 thank you!
Eeeeek!! Looooove your kitchen idea and can’t wait for the content! How about an integrated fridge, would be super sleek! Xx
Your kitchen is going to be awesome!!!
This is so exciting 😍 i love the new layout!
Think about the baseboards under the cupboards. People use that space as long drawers
How exciting...I can not wait. I just love then you do these type of videos 😃🩷.
aww thank you! 💕
In my opinion, not the squiggles and DEF not the knob! Stick with the second one you showed. And as other comments mentioned, perhaps think about an integrated fridge to make it look much more sleek and streamlined.
If you love the Smeg Fridge have a look at swan brand retro fridge it’s very similar and a lot cheaper xx
Omg I’m so excited for you!
love the new kitchen design, cant wait to see it
thank you 💕

YES i was thinking that!
Not sure if i missed it but is there a spot for your trash can? My mom just redid the kitchen and has hers out while my sister has hers built into a cabinet
I mostly have drawers in my kitchen. One specifically for alllll my mug collection!
awesome!! 💕
Love the wavy handles!
Best way to start my Sunday!!
💕💕💕
Great video, how exciting 🥰
-- I love your flat! It’s like my dream home! 😊♥️
thank you so much 💕

ooh very true!! 💕
Ohh I cannot wait to start seeing this process! Did you say the name of the ikea pantry? I love it!!
it's just a tall set of cupboards that i'm having more wood around to build in, idk how to word that better! 💕
How did you get the specs to work on your kitchen on ikea? Did you just measure your kitchen?
For the tiles I would go neutral especially if you’re going to be selling.
They say the smeg doesn’t really have space to put anything anyway - I’m all about freezer food 😂
I also like option 2 of your drawer pulls - I can’t imagine touching squiggles every day and it feels very ikea mirror.

ooh yes lucys kitchen is lovely! i have a samsung fridge atm, it's great 💕 NOT THE IKEA MIRROR LOL
😍❤️ hello from australia!! 🇦🇺
hello!
in the words of our mother Taylor Swift... it's been a long time coming!! 👏
AMEN!
Have all the handles. Mix and match handles is cute!
This is not your forever home? Why? It looks so nice 😊
Real marble is not great for kitchens- they stain and can be ruined easily. Quartz looks similar and I way more durable.
very true! 💕

Hello Beautiful 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
Pleeease get a pretty coloured fridge! Not a white one! Pretty pretty pretty appliances 😍
Good call on the induction hob. Natural gas is toxic and terrible for the environment. It’s equivalent to having someone smoking in your home. I’m desperate to get rid of mine and run an air purifying any time I’m using it.
Hilarious
When are you getting it done? 🩷
