It is indeed a JPII at tier X, which is actually a good thing. We haven't had that in the game yet, and while it's not the best thing since sliced bread it's actually a very versatile triangle that could excel in any map (gun very accurate so it can snipe, not super mobile but very agile so can brawl and follow push, has some armor to bounce a few shots here and there, and alpha is juicy enough to trade)
360 AP penetration is actually high for a tank destroyer. AP has 5 degrees of normalization. It isnt 420 HEAT tier, but it is around 390 HEAT level (268 gold ammo)
It actually depends on the angle, for e.g. on e100 upperplate the 360 AP is more effective than the 420 HEAT, on flat surfaces like E100 Turret the 420 HEAT is more effective, on the FOCH frontal plate the are more or less the same

Ap has 5% APCR 2% and HEAT has 0. The main impact it has is how well the ammo type does against spaced, and to a lesser extent, angled armor. If anyone remembers the OG Object 263. You'll remember it as a sophisticated brute that could play the hammerhead as well as mid range support. It had in my opinion one of the best guns in the game. Excellent DPM. Reliable accuracy!! For a Russian! And super strong front armour. It was balanced by the open topped cabin being pretty much lined with live ammunition making arty ammo racks almost inevitable. Equally had some of the weakest fuel tanks of all tier 10 tanks. The Ho Ri 3 really does remind me of the old 263. Good alpha combined with a pretty fast reload. Good mobility and some useable armour. It's pretty much a JgPzE100 and Object 263 lovechild. Whilst I do enjoy it I do think they could have made the line more interesting. The ammo type for premium is Armour Piercing High Explosive. Standard is regular AP. This would suggest that one type has lower penetration, lower velocity but higher alpha damage. I think this could have made the line more interesting. Ho Ri could have shells stats like: DMG: 700/800/950 Penetration: 300/230/90 I think this would make the tank more unique as well as doing the same with the 9/8 tiers. Also (small rant) the Chi-To SP is borderline broken at tier 7. It's not fun at all against tier 5-6 and it's own tier. It's gotta get a nerf. Preferably larger cupola and weaker hull armour. Leave the cabin/superstructure as 254 so it can use it but pls. Give it penable weakspots!!
U gotta angle. U 1st line sniper. Take shot and get behind cover. The engine gets broken almost every time you get shot. Its a worse jagdtiger/jg pz E100.
For me, this tank has a really trollish gun. Even with upgraded bounty aiming device, reduced dispersion field mod and premium consumables, most shots don't go anywhere near where I am aiming. Had the same problem with the tier 9, but not nearly as bad.
true but what i meant is that its more punishing for newer players because it has no armor, so a skilled player can play around it and use its strenghts.

when the barrel shows through a wall (like the Obj 430U's barrel at 4:13), if the gun is fired will the shell magically go through the wall? or will it hit the wall closest to the tank that just fired? Or like where does the shell exit the tank from? the end of the barrel (normal real-life logic) or the gun mantlet (fake in-game logic)? Asking for a friend.
The shell wouldn't go through the wall, the only reason the gun pokes through is wargaming can't model the game to prevent the gun moving through solid walls.

Wargaming promoted this tank as a Jagdpanzer E 100 counterpart. But from what I've seen, it seems to be more like a fat Jagdpanther II at tier 10.

sorry but its just not, 390 heat shreds E3 cupola while 360 ap will not pen it reliably, also heat doesn't lose pen over distance

Lower pen on the prem round from the TD side, but it's AP pen, not HEAT. I'd rather play with 360 AP than 390 heat for example.

The premium shells are better than they look because AP has normalization which HEAT shells don't, meaning that it ignores some armor sloping.
I thought HEAT pens with 85% angle anyway
85 degrees of threshold for ricocheting. even if your caliber is x3 or more than that of the impacted armor, it wont auto pen@@dylanandmolly3739
