Uhoh, it's happening again. A multiple time world champion loses once and everyone starts saying his time is over. You got to lose to grow sometimes you know -_- . He's a 6 time world champion, he doesn't need to win worlds all the time. He'll probably win again sometime, but others need to win too O.O
In this performance, at some points, he misses some lands or tricks don't work the way he wants to which takes away from the points he could have earned, plus the restart of his yoyo was a -1 point reduction off his overall score. So he would have scored higher if he had landed all his tricks with no restart. It's pretty clear of you watch his 2014 performance and compare it to this, you can tell he was struggling a bit with his tricks.
+iRicksterrr You can get points for various things, rather than simply the yoyo. The overall performance can be scored aswell, how crowd pleasing you are. For example, if two competitors enter, and their yoyoing was equally as good, all their scores were equal, if one was more funny, or smiled more or something, they'd probably get more points. I think that's it anyway. But even if Takeshi did smile more, I think Jake would have still won. Takeshi is amazing, world champion material, but Jakes performance this year was just....god
But his wrist muscle definition is already so good... And look at his neck! I'm not even homosexual and that's attractive. Just kidding. But still, he's not unfit.
+Stephen G just because they're skinny doesn't mean they aren't muscular. He has nice definition and that's all he really needs. It's more than a lot of people have.
この時は凄く驚いた!再来年の世界大会、日本でやるから是非同じ曲でリベンジして欲しい!! I was really surprised at this time! I want you to reunite with the same song by all means since I will do it in the world competition of the year after year again! !
He actually could have won despite those mistakes if he just made one less mistake or as stated before, showed a bit more enthusiasm. His time to win definitely hasn't ended just yet. He just wasn't very fluent this time around compared to the last few years. He can still win next year for sure.
+thereezig23 I feel as Takeshi wasn't really trying. The whole time I saw him at Worlds he never even through a 5a Yoyo. If he polished up his freestyle he'd still be untouchable.
You could say that this was quite a... Turning Point... for Takeshi
I wonder if this gave him a... Palpitation?
(And I am aware he used the Leviathan)

+Jamoyo The badger the thing is , that he WANTED to win ...
A lot of people want to win
Not everyone gets the chance too, even though everyones capable, at least not all the time
Great, he actually did win in 2016
I now remember takeshi as the guy who would've won if it weren't for that one major deduction.
+Michael Pipinis Same in 2014JN hahaha
I think he might have won if he used a new song...
.03 points
Oh dear lord. Game changer.
What gloves does he using?
그래도 마지막까지 멘탈잡네. 한국출신 4a 플레이어 누구 같은경우 인사도 안하고 퇴장했는데
I can't believe he finally had a 5A championship taken from him
Jared Boghosian just because Yoyofactory sent Jake Eliot a bunch of prototype yo-yos and he took one of them
Well, a streak of winning must end at one point, and he is sill a great player....
can someone explain to me this, im new to watching these incredible videos, is 1a the highest ranking and 5a lower? or is it the other way around?
No its style of yoyoing 1a is string tricks 2 looping 3A 2 handed string tricks 4a offstring 5a counterweight or freehand
thank you for answering my question
Does anyone know what string he uses?
ヨーヨーの回転停止のミス無ければ優勝だったんだよな。でもジャックエリオットの方が独創的だったと思う。
what this song ?
hmm could someone tell me why he lost?
it seems to me that he made fewer mistakes, or does droping actually counts towards a higher point deductions?
He snap started and lost a point as a result.

!!!!!
He made quite a few obvious mistakes which might've been a reason for him to get second, otherwise his performance was good
if he smiled 2 times more
he would have one
+Ian really?
yep
how tho

agreed
wow!
just a couple of miss and slips. otherwise this title again would have been his to take. nice work though
time will prove he lost the first just because of drop the ball
What yoyo 👀
Jacob Church Leviathan6 from turning point
bye bye champ
Kyle Neri A few minor misses, and one drop. Not gonna win first this year, but everybody has a bad day.
Kyle Neri he loses Jake only 0.3 point
yes but next year can be his year again :)
Vũ Hải It's 0.03 :)
ohh yes :3
0:46 he fail.
this guy needs to lift some weights
But his wrist muscle definition is already so good... And look at his neck! I'm not even homosexual and that's attractive. Just kidding. But still, he's not unfit.
+Imthegreenbean are you kidding me? his arms are skinner than a 10 yr old girl
+Stephen G just because they're skinny doesn't mean they aren't muscular. He has nice definition and that's all he really needs. It's more than a lot of people have.
Imthegreenbean im not talking about definition I'm talking about size. This dude probably weighs 90 pounds
+Stephen G oh. Then yeah I guess. I'm almost thinner but I weigh 125. He's probably somewhere around there.
I was really surprised at this time! I want you to reunite with the same song by all means since I will do it in the world competition of the year after year again! !
he's losing it. he really needs to be doing other competitions to help practice for worlds, instead of just winging it
iRicksterrr lol he has all of the practice he needs. No matter how much you practice the tricks, you can still screw it up on stage.
iRicksterrr i dont think he needs to practice more... he only lost by 0.03 points
but usually he was winning by 10-20 points!!!
+iRicksterrr 3rd place lost by a lot, Jake was above his game
they weren't even in the 90 point range...
Where is the yoyo? its all so blurry.
Bet next year he'll win 1a and 5a
Song?

민수노래
1A good....5A good....good good good
3A good good too :))
I feel like Takeshi's 5A days have ended :( I was super inspired by him, but he's done though...
+NostarOFTO you do realize he was way ahead of everybody's game for the longest time, look at his 2012 freestyle he had more passion back then.
+thereezig23 Dude look at the other contests he's won and the margin that he won by
+thereezig23 I feel as Takeshi wasn't really trying. The whole time I saw him at Worlds he never even through a 5a Yoyo. If he polished up his freestyle he'd still be untouchable.
what kind of yo yo is this dude shredding on??
+Thomas Lee pretty sure its a turning point leviathan not sure which one tho
+iRicksterrr
Leviathan 6
+Connor Seals actually I think it's a palpation
