Within and behind that thought is a powerful and spiritual sense of humility, something that is outlined specifically in Micah 6:8, which says: "What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God." I just don't think we heed that Rx for life near enough nowadays. Quite the opposite really. What with "selfies" and instant communication tools that can send our thoughts and images truly worldwide, et al, we have become a very self-absorbed people. Our sense of humility has atrophied. Our sense of "the work IS the reward" is quite absent in our thinking. It's a "what have you done for me lately?" mentality. Just keep doing what you're doing, Coach!
