I have been binge watching your Melt and Pour videos and have learned more from you in the last few days than any of the many books I’ve read. Didn’t realise how creative you can be with Melt and Pour, you have fired up my interest in making soap again. You explain everything so clearly, lots of detail without being boring. BTW you have a great voice and love the accent 😉. Many thanks for taking the time to make these tutorials.
This soap turned out beautifully, but is no one going to mention how awesome his mold box is? HAHA. I have little ones and they have legos they don't play with anymore. I may have to put them to good use and save money on more boxes. Well done.
You did a fabulous job, designing and creating the soap. You made the hole punch very easy. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great job on designing your soaps
Hi Dean how are you? For you long life because on Saturday I made my MP swirls and told my family that I learned from Dean channel, 😃😀. I loved the legos😄😂 You are an experimental guy on soap swirls and I love it.... keep posting beautiful techniques..
Plus, if the rope is too long, the purchaser can always tie them closee! Impossible to make the loop longer, but you(as a purchaser) can always make 'em shorter! Thanks, fabulous experience to watch and learn from!🙃👏👏👏😘
First time watching your channel. I have to say I was shocked when you began talking! I expected a woman’s voice just because I’ve never seen a male soaper before. I’m so happy I found you! I love that your mold is made from legos! What a cool idea, I may have to try it! The soap looks lovely! Hope you have a great day!
U are melt n pours bad ass! I wish I could cut like that. I stopped making melt n our 3 years ago and went only cold process because I can’t cut to save my life. I learned from you how to swirl melt n pour and I made beautiful swirls but then it came time to cut them no matter what I did I couldn’t cut them straight. At all not that they were a little off but the top would be an inch and the bottom 2 inches. And then I got the melt n pour cutter and the top was always significantly smaller then the bottom. I don’t know why I couldn’t do it. I did do single mound bars but there not coast effective to sell even though they were beautiful. I love glycerin soap’s for the face if u have dry skin I like glycerin at night n my CP facial soap for the morning. But I don’t know for some reason I can’t cut straight. It took me a long time to bevel the CP soap’s straight and every so often I mess up. I need them to be fully cured before I can bevel them or I’ll mess up. It will be totally off noticeably off. When my husband surprised me with a cutter he made me he named the cutter Save the Soap lol 😂 so I watch ur melt n pour completely captivated when u start cutting. Awesome 👏🏻
I am not that great at cutting soap other. The other day while packing an order I had to cut 2mm off the bottom of a soap because it didnt fit into a box. So I feel your pain.
Hi Dean As its a smallish batch why not make your own box its quite easy to figure out the dimensions and maybe have a taller box and the rope can fit on top of the soap instead of the side which can be seen through the aperture. Its a beautiful colour like like a nebula Nebula soap on a rope 😃 All the best 🌻
Is there a way to put the dowel into the soap after it slightly hardens (so it doesn't seep below?) in other words, put the dowel in while soap is hardening (your soap comes out so soft, mine does not... it has the bases I am using..ugh
Just wondering why you didnt place the rope in the soap while it cured? Be curious to know if theres a difference. Loved the video btw. Simple and easy to understand. Thank you 😊
Hi Dean beautiful soap! Loved how you used Legos as your mold casing, what a great use of Legos! Question: you score and cut your soap on a white table top surface- it must be very sturdy as I don’t see any cut marks! Can I ask what type of material it is? Thanks for sharing as always. -Momo
Hi, thanks so much. The table was a stainless steel table 1.5m long, 90cm wide. I has the exact same size cut in HMR High Moisture Resistant White particle board so I could protect the metal surface. When it got damaged, I just turned the board over.
I wanted to keep all the base as suspending base so the swirls keep their shape. I think with normal goats milk or clear base these swirls would have merged.
Sooo I had a thought regarding the rope and the boxes. Instead of putting the hole in the center, could you maybe do a diagonal cut meaning from the top right corner the whole would be drilled at an angle to poke out the side and then the extra space you had on the side of the bar in the box would be were the rope would fit and there would be no bulge. 🤷🏻♀️ Lol I hope that made sense lol love love love your videos! 🙃
Yes, Maybe that Could work. The reason why I went from front to back was because over time using the soap the curd will start to push though the soap as it gets soft. If it was though from side to top then it might pull thought and the soap will fall to the floor. Im really not 100% it was a good design, but thats how it worked out. Customer loved it anyway :D
Beautiful soap, thanks for sharing!! Love the layers and feeling inspired to try my first funnel pour MP project!! To avoid the box bulging outward from the rope, did you consider leaving it loose alongside the bar inside the box for the recipient to tie (also allows for their preferred length)?
Love watching your video and creativity but tell me why is it you can't get the holes right? Lol. Did you plan on putting the three funnels in then pouring across all three somewhat simultaneously? Love, love what you do.
When you remove the soap, wouldnt the rope just slide out with it? I can see it in my head but maybe I'm not conveying it right (or maybe lockdown has sent me completely nuts)
The soap turned out lovely. I especially loved the one with the eye!! I was wondering if there's a specific reason you use this string? Wouldn't a thinner jute string be better? Might fit in the box with the soap.
I dont think I have made an activated charcoal melt and pour soap yet. Use the activated charcoal like you would a mica and it should be fine. White soaps will turn grey, while clear soaps will turn solid black.
The base I use here is just melt and pour, its pre-made soap which you cut up, melt down in the microwave and add fragrance and color. No recipe needed. If you wanted a full cold process recipe you can check out my video here. ruclips.net/video/sS1QPWDeG2w/видео.html
Some bases will be sticky. Some others will be solid but melt and pour by itself is a glycerine based soap so it will have a bit of stickiness. Also fragrances and other things can make it sticker too.
Hi there! Love your soaps. When i do my soaps ,once dry and after a few days, the colours just start to mix and join to each other . And they look horrible. Any tip? Is it because i am using colour base dye and i should be using mica. No idea.. Im new... Thanks a lot!!!!
I hope you don't mind me asking. I use melt and pour and I usually use shrink wrap to prevent sweating, but I had a customer ask if I could use something more eco friendly and no plastic. What eco friendly packaging could I use, as I want to prevent glycerin sweat? Thank you
I think someone told me about waterproof packaging once but I had to order 10,000 of them. Personally I normally wrap my melt and pour soaps in a plastic bag 150mm x 100mm then seal it and put it into a box.
Hellow sir I've messaged u earlier & ur tips were very useful thanks for that I have a problem sir I'm not getting silicon moulds for bulk like not even 1 kg moulds only thing available is 100 gms per piece type mould plz help how can I make patters for them in c.p soap
Not sure how you would do that in small 100 gram molds. The reason the loafs (1kg) work so well is they are in between the swirls hence the pattern, But if its just sitting on the bottom or top of the 100 gram mold it might not show a good pattern.
Absolutely amazing!! It sure didn’t take you long to master that pour! 👏🏼👏🏼 I was wondering what kind of rope you are using? Do you know if I can get it in the US?? Thank you for the great video. I’m on video 26 on my channel. I haven’t gotten famous yet, but I’m working on it! 🤣😂
Not 100% sure of the size of the mold now, it was over a year ago and I gave it to another soap maker when I closed my business. However I think its 24cm long, 20cm wide.
What about if I’m the future, you put the hole in it and instead of attaching the rope, place the rope in the space on the side. Then you can box it up. I’m sure the customer won’t mind tying the rope because they’ll be getting a bit more soap and you’d have a nice boxed soap.
I love how your funnel pour soaps come out, absolutely beautiful! I want to this but with orange, brown, and white for fall. Will this swirl technique work with the stephensons ultra clear soap base?

Your skills with M&P is astounding! It looks so amazing.
Thanks so much, glad you like it.
You know what looks nice? tying a knot close to the soap then another knot at the top as you did.. COOL
That Lego box is such a smart idea. Great job. Thanks.
Glad you liked it! Thanks

Thanks, there is a full video on my channel how I made the mold. :)
Those came out very nice. An added bonus for me is that it’s my favorite color and one of my favorite scents.
My favorite color too! 😍😍😍

Beautiful color of soap
So glad you kept the "eye"

I really would, I agree, use different shades of brown.. lovely
Just perfect Mr. Perfection just fabulous I love it
Beautiful! Great job! I also love your soap mold holder👍 very creative! Thank you 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Those are so nice. I’m digging the rope also. Be safe and have an awesome day
the sides are so interesting. I would love to see this kind of pour in a taller mold to show off that wood grain effect even more!

I enjoyed that video. Very impressed Dean.
Glad you enjoyed it
Who the heck would dislike this video?! I love all your videos, thank you for sharing!

Gorgeous swirls! 🥰🥰🥰
Fantastic 😍 and amazing! Love them!!
Very nice and easy for you
Woow i love it Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
That looks like an amethyst. It is gorgeous 💜
Love the lego soap box- great idea I hope I come across a yardsale where they are getting rid of legos!!!
Legos with soap all over them. Not sure they would sell. :)
It's so lovely..
Nice. Dont have to worry about dropping the soap lol
Beautiful soap!

You have so many brilliant idea, this works much better with cp soap but that you tried to recreate with melt and pour is hard work! Congrats💜💜💜💜
Thanks so much :)
Lovely ❤️👏 I think this technique would be possible with melt & pour but you have done it beautifully! Thank you for sharing!!
Cool swirls
lovely thank you for sharing Dean!!!!

I didnt know where the soaps were going to be cut. A little hard to do that with 12 strings.

I wanted to keep all the base as suspending base so the swirls keep their shape. I think with normal goats milk or clear base these swirls would have merged.

So pretty!
Question, How much fragrance to use for 2 pounds of the goats milk melt n pour?
2 pounds is about 900 grams.
at 2% fragrance it would be 18 grams
9 grams of fragrance would be 1%
Beautiful soap, thanks for sharing!! Love the layers and feeling inspired to try my first funnel pour MP project!! To avoid the box bulging outward from the rope, did you consider leaving it loose alongside the bar inside the box for the recipient to tie (also allows for their preferred length)?
You could always make a place in the top for the rope to come out the top?
There might be a few ways to use it in the future. For me this was a once off.
Dean Wilson well you did a fabulous job as always :)
Love watching your video and creativity but tell me why is it you can't get the holes right? Lol. Did you plan on putting the three funnels in then pouring across all three somewhat simultaneously? Love, love what you do.
I thought it would be easy to find these funnels but I just couldn't get 2 more and the drill size fits the first funnel but not the new ones.
Purple wood lol cool
Could you potentially poke a hole in the back of tge box and have the rope threaded through if that makes sense?? 🤔
I dont think that would work, how would the soap come out?
When you remove the soap, wouldnt the rope just slide out with it?
I can see it in my head but maybe I'm not conveying it right (or maybe lockdown has sent me completely nuts)
It goes though front and back. I cant see it. Sorry :(
Very kool! Could you use ribbon i wonder 🤔
I think the ribbon might cut into the soap. Remembering this is melt and pour and its easley cut.
@@DeanWilson oh ok what about cold process soap? Thanks for the fast reply!!!!
Yes, Once the cold process soap cure that would be fine as long as the water doesn't degrade the ribbon.
@@DeanWilson Thanks again!!
The soap turned out lovely. I especially loved the one with the eye!! I was wondering if there's a specific reason you use this string? Wouldn't a thinner jute string be better? Might fit in the box with the soap.
Because its melt and pour base, it becomes soft after using, specially if its hanging, so thats why I used a thicker cord.
Have you tried the funneling technique in a normal single loaf mold?
Yes, you can find it here.
ruclips.net/video/DAmT9XFCrzk/видео.html
Do you happen to have a recipe for melt and pour for activated charcoal that is good for rosacea?
I dont think I have made an activated charcoal melt and pour soap yet. Use the activated charcoal like you would a mica and it should be fine. White soaps will turn grey, while clear soaps will turn solid black.
@@DeanWilson , I was looking for a recipe. I am not real experienced at doing this on my own.

@@wendysweesuds5936 , thank you very much @Wendy's Wee Suds
Dean how do you stop melt an pour from being sticky? Nice swirl, that big one is awesome..
Some bases will be sticky. Some others will be solid but melt and pour by itself is a glycerine based soap so it will have a bit of stickiness. Also fragrances and other things can make it sticker too.
Love this, must give it a try. Your Titanium Oxide, do you buy pre mixed? thanks. Oh I love your Lego box!👍
Yes, it comes as a liquid for my melt and pour soaps.
Hi there! Love your soaps. When i do my soaps ,once dry and after a few days, the colours just start to mix and join to each other .

Its a bit of hit and miss on that subject. I experience this too sometimes. I keep hearing if you score the soap (scratch) then it has something to grip into. Maybe give that a try.
@@DeanWilson Thankyou, I'll definitely try that.
Also if you tried cutting them horizontally rather than vertically you'd get more dramatic swirls
Hi Dean, does the mica need to be dissolved in alcohol before using?
Its best to do so otherwise you end up with clumps of mica in the soap. The mica is where to color the soap.
