always get sad knowing that some of brian's best work is hiding either in the form of a low quality -- albeit beautiful -- piano demo or some overproduced attempt missing the soul you hear here.
I've always discounted this song (the version on 'Getting' In Over My Head' leaves me cold). This is a revelation, much preferable for all its failings. It's a strong melody.
This was recorded in the '80s right? It blows my mind because it sounds just like Brian of old (anything with his voice from the early '70s and before). Maybe it's just because of the lower quality.
I think it's because the much maligned Dr.Landy got Brian in decent physical and mental shape for a brief period of time. Then it got weird again- money, family, control, the business of music. Brian was the golden goose.

Sweet Insanity version is fantastic
This sounds like a classic song, he's voice is convincing, the recorded version is a disappointment.
Actually a decent song. Too bad the album production is god awful.
A softer production of the one on Sweet Insanity would be nice.
It's super 80s for sure hahah but I actually don't mind the album version at all
I remember first hearing rhis demo in '99. Such a classic Brian Wilson song.

I believe this is pet sounds quality writing. Compare to early pet sounds demos

It’s so beautiful. What a moment
Brian was prolific, to say the least.
