      If you never been to Cali to Knotts Berry farm you wouldn't know. But if you do go eat the fried chicken at the restaurant most of the time the line goes out the door.

    I made this exactly the way you said, and I got to say, it needs more Thyme to be Knotts chicken... It turned out good but was too light on that main flavor that smells up the whole surroundings of Knotts, wasn't able to taste the thyme enough like the original.

    Did u Deep Fry the Chicken 2 times ? Cause that's How Cordelia Did it ! Before the Cooking Machines, Cordelia Knott Deep Fried here Chicken in 2 Giant Pots according to what Pam said, I have Works at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant now for 9 years !

    • @pjlygu

      I don't know how they fry chicken at Knott's now, but Mrs. Knott didn't fry the chicken twice, she put the chicken in a pressure steamer for a few minutes before she fried it. I know because my grandmother worked in the CDR with Mrs. Knott from 1949 to 1969 and I remember as a kid going back into the kitchen with my grandma when Mrs. Knott was there standing on sort of a pedestal, supervising on the operation of the kitchen.

    Shouldn't you rinse the chicken after opening it from the packaging?

    • @cookingwithjackshow
      @cookingwithjackshow  10 лет назад +2

      nope. They now says never rinse your poultry. You're cooking process will ensure you have nothing to worry about.

    • @nisekin
      @nisekin 10 лет назад +1

      Cooking With Jack Show I see.. So even if it has a pool of blood on the tray it was contained in, rinsing it is also unnecessary?

    • @homeopt
      @homeopt 10 лет назад +1

      Do whatever works for you. If you feel better having rinsed it, fine. Studies have shown that 'cleaning' chicken can actually spread samonella around kitchen, and if cooking chicken in 400 degree frying oil doesn't kill samonella, holding under running cold water surely won't do anything beneficial.

    • @nisekin
      @nisekin 10 лет назад

      homeopt Well. The more i know! Thanks for explaining :D Never really knew about this.

    I've made fried chicken at work, and skillet fried at home, but never did the refrigerator step. What does it do between dredging and frying?

    • @cookingwithjackshow
      @cookingwithjackshow  10 лет назад +1

      it adheres better to the chicken by drying it out with the batter attached.

      Knott's Berry Farm is the first amusement park in America. It's here in my hometown of Buena Park, CA just 5 minutes from Disneyland. Mrs. Knott's has a chicken house that started the whole farm. They are also famous for their Knott's Berry Farm Jelly, especially boysenberry. Mr Knott and Mr. Boysen invented that berry by cross breeding. It's a great story. Here is another video I did that shows you the place. Mrs. Knott's Chicken House - WING WARS #1
