The older games' character presentation through winning screens worked so much better than the recent games like Xiv and Xiii. But overall it's true that arcade fg's handled these kind of details much more efficiently than console fg's, because of the bigger concern about time in an arcade. Both Capcom and Snk managed to master that craft by the late 90s.
