I tried Whilhem Shimmel last week at the store as well, I immediately love it after one song. The tone is warm with a very nice bloom. Totally agree with you. Thank you for the video!
This is one of the best pieces of advice I have seen. I've done endless research online looking at different pianos, researching their history, origin, nuances, quirks, mechanism, build quality, etc. etc. etc. Then I went to a piano store and found that NONE of that was relevant. You HAVE to play the different instruments. "The Wand chooses the Wizard Mr. Potter". It's the exact same with pianos, and exactly like you said "I could tell within the first few seconds if it was the instrument for me".
I'm glad I could be of some help. I'd love to know what piano you choose (or chooses you) in the end, so just pop a reply with it if you don't mind of course.
Hi, it is a powerful piano for its size, but it wouldn’t be too loud for your room. It is currently in a room that is 5 square metres and sounds great. The tone of this piano is the best I’ve heard from any piano in the same price range.
@@jacobowen2933 Agreed. I actually ordered one yesterday, after I’ve played the competitors in the same price range. I seem to prefer the warm and mellow tones of german pianos. The w114 is surprisingly powerful for its size and I really like the action. I stumbled upon your video, while I was looking for the Schimmel sound on yt. Can’t seem to get enough from it 😄

The muffler rail is locked down that's why it sounds different

@@jacobowen2933 A 5' 9" Schimmel Grand Piano. Unfortunately, I ended up not being able to upgrade from my old yamaha console
@@FryChicken You chose a 5'9" Schimmel Grand recently, or was that your pre-existing piano?
@@jacobowen2933 My current piano for the past two decades has been a Yamaha M500. The 5'9" Schimmel spoke to me when I was recently shopping

How is this piano tone? Do you think is to loud for small room (about 8 square meters)?

Is this a w114, w118 or w123?
The sound is beautiful
Hello, Thank you! It is a w114.
I love the sound of it. It is the best by far within this price range. Nothing else comes close in my opinion.
