I’m grew up in Pensacola, loved watching them fly over the neighborhood as they did their maneuvers.
Well I live in Pensacola now and I worked on this base when I first moved down here from NY after 9/11 happen and seeing those planes fly put my mind and heart as ease
I’ve never been to a blue angels air show hopefully I will get to when they come back to Missouri because I’m a really huge fan of the blue angels

I have tremendous respect for the Blue Angels. I would love to see them. My family and I saw the Thunderbirds at Andrews AFB in my Maryland home state. This was back in the 90's. It was an awesome show. 🇺🇸

The blue angels definitely brought me into a new genre of music after they visited Hawaii back in September. When they played song including danger zone and back in black, I just changed, along with the numerous complex maneuvers they did over the song was amazing.
Seen them at Fort Mchenry (Baltimore, MD) performing absolutely amazing what these men do, and to be right under them was breath taking I loved it!!!!
When I was in the Fire Department we had a rollout tape with all kinds of fire and rescue related songs and this one WAS DEFINITELY ON IT! That has been on my bucket list of things to do before I die is to ride with these guys. I would also like to spend a day on board a Carrier and watch Flight Ops and Recovery.

the Blue Angels are not pilots, anyone can be a pilot, The Blue Angels are Navel Aviators. The air force cant say that. GO NAVY or Go Home

I'm a Brit so support the Red Arrows. Saw the Blue's while working in San Francisco during fleet week 20 years ago, never heard of them before that but my god they impressed! Now the Arrows display gentlemanly in antique aircraft, the Blues...THAT, gentlemen is how we do THAT!
One of the coolest things I ever seen in my life was the Blue Angels in person, this does no justice.

I'm Just Retired from RMAF F/A - 18 D Squadron its a great experience to work with excellent flying machine.. As AT (Avionic Technician) and an Instructor for the Avionic system for this bird its worth an experience and knowledge even though I'd never had a chance with it but the music video is just bring back my Dreams.

I met these guys - probably not in this current configuration - when I was a kid many moons ago in an era that time forgot. While I didn't see their airshow, knowing they do things like this puts a massive smile on my face.

Dad flew F4s in Vietnam as a Marine fighter Jock BUT he was USNA 64....FYI F4s were faster but not a maneuverable. DFC with 400+ combat missions and yet Agent Orange related brain cancer took him at age 52. Fly to live Live fly....Miss ya Poppa Bru

I just now realized that one of the planes in the last shot of the video that one of the planes of the Blue Angels when they were doing the fly by that one of them was upside down
While it's true these very special group of men are indeed the best, let us not forget, all the men and women who fly NAVY/ Marine are equally as good and they all perform these maneuvers as part of their training. Then of course there is landing their mounts on a pitching carrier at night in driving rain with heavy fog.

While US Naval aviators are the worlds best, it is the Blue Angles that are the elite. Fighter pilots do not fly some of these maneuvers, as they are for air shows for recruitment purposes and good will. These maneuvers are extremely dangerous.
If war breaks out these men return to their combat squadrons.
@@machia0705 You can take any NAVY / Marine Corps pilot and train them to be a Blue Angel. The basis of the team is indeed formation flying. A requirement for all pilots in the NAVY and Marine Corps. Mind you, I am speaking of those pilots who train to become combat certified pilots. Not transport or logistical pilots. While it's true that some of the maneuvers performed by the Blues are for show purposes, the genesis for each of those maneuvers comes from basic formation flying taught to every single Naval Aviator and Marine Corps pilot.
Not every pilot is cut out to be a Blues pilot. However, many combat pilots are equally adept to learning any one of those maneuvers in the Blues program of trained properly.
Elite? Perhaps. Any pilot who can land an aircraft on a pitching deck, at night, in driving rain with heavy fog, they're more then elite......

Naval pilots are Navy and Marine pilots. Those who carrier qualify are a cut above any pilot anywhere. To become a Blue Angle however you have to be OUTSTANDING.
I knew many Naval pilots, and they flew the
PBY-Catalina, F3F’s, F4U’s, K and N Blimps (ASW and Convoy patrols), USS Los Angelos, USS Macon, P-3 Orion, F-4, F-14 and the FA-18.
I got my private pilots license at age 16, went to a US Naval Academy prep school but failed the eye exam for pilot.
The guys I knew who flew were my instructors and friends. They all were in awe of the Blue Angles flight team.
I understand what you’re saying. But to become a Blue Angle in the estimation of many, including their peers in the Navy and Marines, is to become the best pilot in the world.

Let me put this another way so that you and others, may have a full understanding. As Naval/ Marine Aviators, we do not go around saying we are elite. Even those of us who have been so fortunate to be chosen to fly with the Blues. Each of us knows what it takes and many of us have friends, peers, acquaintances etc, who are still looking for the 3rd wire back on the boat. Just because we got selected to become a Blue Angel, doesn't mean we are any better or elite over those we serve with. It's simply not something we go around saying to ourselves or each other. For us, it's a job. A very important job, but a job none the less. We are a recruitment tool and to that end, that is what we do. Whether it's as a Blues pilot or a pilot looking for his/ her first trap.
I tell you this from direct experience as a former combat trained Marine Corps Aviator.

I never said Naval pilots go around saying they are elite. All the Navy and Marine pilots I knew never bragged but were in awe of guys who flew as Blue Angles. That’s all I’m saying from my personal experience. A Marine Lieutenant Colonel friend of mine who got his commission through Villanova
often lauded the Naval flight team, etc etc...The person who taught me to fly was a USAAF pilot in WW2 and American Airlines Captain who was partial to the Thunderbirds but he always thought they were a cut above the rest. To tell you the truth, I knew he thought Naval aviators in general were dam good but never admitted it out loud lol. He was my Uncle, I knew him well, what he was thinking lol. Great guy. Tough instructor, but made me a better pilot. He retired with over 33,000 hours.

There is a video from the early 80s of Tommy Lee hanging out with fighter pilots for a day. You could tell he was in awe of the whole thing.

In MWC @ TAFB this year we had some bad storms roll through. I'm glad we waited it out, with the crowd that couldn't quite fit in the hangar, because we were able to see the Blue Angels, who I haven't seen since I was little.

Sammy did a free concert in downtown Toledo, across the street from the Sports Arena. It was in a huge parking lot and this was after Van Halen. He rocked it was great. What made him do that I will never know

True story~ I was flying back from Colorado and we hit some serious turbulence and I just so happened to be sitting next to one of the Blue Angel pilots and he grabbed me close making sure I was okay... I wish I could thank him again, but we parted ways in Pensacola, Florida.
I have the utmost respect for our Men and women in uniform, past and present.

B1B Bomber Mach 1 low altitude pass @ Chicago Air and Water Show on the shore of Lake Michigan--all afterburners maxxed. The sand on the beach was vibrating. Even my t-shirt was shaking. I smiled for 3 days.......my wife thinks I am crazy.
Watching these guys in person single handedly made me want to join the navy.
A better camera with better resolution is required. The editing is superb. T-birds eat your heart out. How can you not want to join up after seeing this? The Best of The Best!
When I was a college freshman I went to a demo at DM and met everyone. I took a group picture, however one had to do something so was not in the picture... Shortly later in the year that pilot was KIA.
It is kind of weird to think that the one person I did not get in a picture is the one team member to know not long after the group photo.

1982 to 1988 AZ2 VS-41 and VS-33 two west pac one on the USS Ranger CV-61 Jul 83 to Feb 84 and the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 July 85 cruise and working the flight deck while in my 20's was nice and if you didn't watch what you were doing it would kill you .. this made me grow up very fast and I'd do it again but for 20 years.
The intensity on the pilot's face at 3:23 always gets me pumped up because it matches the music's intensity...f*cking bad ass!!
he's 'grunt breathing' to keep the blood up towards his brain under those high G's. it does look pretty kick ass though.

People dont realize the precision involved. planes dont just turn on a dime.....even these. there is alot of sliding and air displacement that happens. These guys are the absolute best at what they do!!!
