I grew up on Golden Earring. I am saddened by the news of George Kooyman's illness. I've loved their music since hearing Moontan as a very young boy. They have such a distinct sound. This set is a great combination of their newer and older material.
So this just popped up in my RUclips autoplay and... the only Golden Earring I'd heard was Radar Love and Twilight Zone and apparently I've been missing out on some great music all these years.

Ik speel nog steeds in een rockband als drummer/zanger op inmiddels mijn 62 ste, en ook Earring nummers, hoe mooi is dat ! Vind het vreselijk hoe deze superband gedwongen moest stoppen, erg triest, en ik wens de gehele band het beste voor de toekomst en in het bijzonder George, sterkte en bedankt voor je/ jullie grandioze erfenis aan muziek ! ❤
A totally Unbelievably Great Band since the first time I ever heard them. I saw them many many years age at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago at a concert that didn’t sell out and the five of us got in for like $6 or $8 bucks apiece. It’s one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. I was so caught up in the show and the mesmerizing music that they were laying down that by the end of the show somehow the crowd Agfa managed to have smashed about the front 50 to 60 chairs flat to the floor as everyone was going so crazy at how Great a show these guys had put on. And it seems as though I didn’t even notice it all going on until the show was over and I’m looking at my buddies and going WTF did we just see. These guys were fantastic and why in the hell didn’t this show sell out. We had gone to it at the last minute as we only heard about it that day, and am I ever glad that we all choose to go see this concert. It’s got to be in the top three concerts that I’ve ever seen and have never forgotten it.
They are number one on my list of bands I've always wanted to see, but never was able to. Great deep catalog of tunes. And George is a great guitarist, highly under-rated.
Saw them at the Aragon too around 1977. One of the best band of all time. Also saw them at tge Park West in Chicago during their Twilight Zone days around 1983. Wish I could have seen them more.
