My best friend and I were helping my dad's friend move like 15 years ago and he 'paid' us by ordering KFC and we ate and he hooked up tv and put on a dvd or something of a concert of theirs and they were doing With or Without and Bono pulled a girl up on stage and they just laid down next to each on stage while he sang and it made me fall in love with the song so much and it's still my fav of theirs to this day)
U2 is one of my favorite bands. I prefer their older stuff like New Year's Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride (In the Name of Love) but my Favorite is All I Want is You. Love that one!
Yes can I hit the like button a 1000 times to get the most. I prefer U2 when they were more political and had an opinion. Love all i want is you. But Pride is my favourite.
You say you'll give me diamonds and ring of gold your story to remain untold but all the promises we made from the cradle to the grave when all i want is you 😊
Totally agree old songs were good but the 90s songs were their ultimate peak which has failed to be repeated there are occasional songs of joy but they sound too much like 80s simple minds now.
u2 played once great songs... later only rubbish.. under a blood red sky was for example one of the best live lps ever (1983)... but latest since 1990 only mainstream sht...
@@seelenwinter6662 yes and no, while the quality started to dip during the 90s, there’s still plenty of great songs in there. I’d argue the real decline started on “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”, which was really only saved by one standout classic track.
@@shmick6079 Miracle Drug from that album was also lovely, but yeah I wouldn't put it among their best. I fully believe Every Breaking Wave from Songs of Innocence (ESPECIALLY the stripped version), and and Ordinary Love from the Mandela movie soundtrack are career GREATS though!
Paul David Hewson (born 10 May 1960), known by his stage name Bono, is an Irish singer, songwriter, philanthropist, activist, venture capitalist, businessman, and actor. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of rock band U2. He's just amazing. Check out U2 - Bad from Live Aid 1985.
Being a 40 year fan of U2, it is so much fun to see such a happy, genuine, passionate young guy show some love for the greatest rock band AND rock crooner of all time~ There is a live version of One where Bono includes some love for his wife Ali as the band was wrapping up (Ith ink the 360 tour or earlier) and instead of Hallelujah, he screams "Ali-lujah, I'm coming home Ali, Ali-lujah, I am coming home!" Echoing others, All I Want Is You, Streets, but also obscure tunes like Drowning Man, Tomorrow or even Miss Sarajevo (you might enjoy Pavarotti).
My favorite part is when he reaches the lyric "love is a temple" and so on. That's when I'm already on Cloud Nine. And yeah, EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. For years and years now.
Great reaction to one of my favourite U2 songs. This song actually saved the band as they had hit several dead ends whilst recording Achtung Baby. The album was a big change in style and direction and was described by the band as "four men chopping down The Joshua Tree", which was the name of their biggest album. Apparently The Edge was just in the studio playing the chords and Bono started singing words to fit in with the tune. They managed to get something going then both Adam and Larry came in and started to suss out their parts and played along. That gave them something to build on and a renewed hope that they make an album. Bono's vocals and lyrics on this sing were spot on. The one line that sticks out for me is "We get to carry each other" as it sounds more of a privilege than a chore.
Ok... so now.. you need to go look up the "one" cover by Chris Cornell.(Dark grey tshirt video) Chris sings the lyrics to Metallica's One, by the melody of U2's One. Trust me on this... chills chills chills, powerful powerful powerful. Makes me tear up everytime i hear it. Also, ive been a U2 fan since Joshua Tree was released. My older sister got me listening to them when i was a teenager. Im 42 now. Alex, if you are looking for a good wedding song, (Congrats btw) U2's "All I Want is You" off the Rattle and Hum album is a primo choice. Other good U2 songs: (too many) Bad (studio or Live Aid version) So Cruel (emotional song & lyrics) Numb (Edge actually sings that song and its weird, but a cool weird)
The song gets better and better each time. They have an official video that has insight to the message - Bono looks u right in the eye and opens the window
Anything from the Joshua Tree album is great. I wore the friggin grooves off that album. However I think you check out "Bad" from the Unforgettable Fire album. It's an amazing track.
I totally second this, but would recommend the live version off "Wide Awake In America." It's my favorite - hearing that version is like hearing live for me, and feeling all of that energy. :)
This is off of one of the two best U2 Albums ever. The Joshua Tree was a cover to cover album so good they went and did a 40th year anniversary tour where the concert consisted of them playing the album straight through every night. This is off of Achtung Baby... Where the band reinvented themselves from straight rock to a dance club groove... Rock... You can't go wrong listening to anything off of either of those albums. Then you have newer (20 year olds) songs like Beautiful Day that just fn floor you.
some u2 songs to consider... 1. so cruel 2. lemon 3. who's gonna ride your wild horses 4. trying to throw your arms around the world 5. until the end of the world
Where the Streets Have no Name by U2. They filmed it on top of a liquor store in downtown L.A. despite the cops trying to shut them down. Free concert for tens of thousands of people. It's insane.
The sweetest thing.. Desire.. Pride (in the name of love).. Hold me,thrill me, kiss me,kill me.. Staring at the sun, who's gonna ride your wild horses,i still haven't found what I'm looking for.. Where the streets have no name..
Their songs from the 80's are outstanding, but you should check Achtung Baby as well, the album containing One. The world tour, ZooTv, was something out of this world and is still considered one of the most influencial in the history of rock
Yeah man, saw the Zoo tv show in Leeds’s Roundhay park. As far as big rock shows with all the bells and whistles, that one set standards which are still templates today.
How did I miss that you reacted to this?! This has always been one of my most favorite songs. I used to think if I was ever going to start singing karaoke, it would be my go to song.

Was lucky enough to be at the Joshua tree anniversary tour in Barcelona. It was one of the best experiences of my life. it's an incredible album that's definitely worth a reaction
Do " One Tree Hill " it was written for one of his roadies that died in a motorcycle accident. He was a New Zealander and One Tree Hill is a famous volcanic peak in Auckland, NZ. It was named that because there was ( obviously ) one tree on it, but it got attacked and taken down, so now theres a monument up there. Very, very good song.
I grew up as a teen in 90's listening to these guys, went to POP concert in 98 at roundhay park uk, was awesome. I still have my ticket, covered in sellotape because it rained, thundered and lightened
You're just scratching the surface of U2. So much good music! Songs with a similar vibe would be sometimes you can't make it on your own and with or without you

Highly recommend listening to "Bad" by U2 its such a powerful song. Also "Sunday bloody sunday", "Pride", and "Where the streets have no name" are all amazing songs
The story behind this song is the clincher. Coming off the Joshua Tree they couldn't vibe. Sitting in the studio one night, almost ready to split, one of them stands up and just starts that intro. Cant recall if it was Bono or Edge. Immediately jammed out and it became this song. Then we got Achtung Baby. Amazing history to this band.

they played the very first Live Aid concert back in the day, and you really need to react to "U2 - Bad (live at Live Aid)." it's one of their best performances ever.
One double shot of U2 that i think goes together and also gives perspective of how gigantic their live show is would be All I Need Is You into Where the Streets Have No Name. Live from Slane Castle or Boston...both are readily available as a package on RUclips.
MANY of their "deeper" cuts are still golden: "Gloria" "Two Hearts Beat As One" "A Sort Of Homecoming" "The Unforgettable Fire" "Running To Stand Still" "Red Hill Mining Town" "In God's Country" "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" "Vertigo" "City Of Blinding Lights" etc.
My U2 story....'86.... in Las Vegas....came out of the Freemont in downtown Vegas with my Uncle Jimmy (we're Italian)....anyway, lotsa commotion going on and Metro (Vegas police) were everywhere....it was then we noticed some dude jumping on the hood of a car....U2 was making their "Where The Streets Have No Name" unbeknownst to us....so we started laughing at the dude on the car hood in traffic. It was Bono who was 20 feet from us, looked at us, walked over and said "you think that looked funny?" .... Jimmy and I looked at one another and at the same time said "hell no".... he laughed and said "are you guys twins?".... we all laughed.... U2 is an Institution and is without question top 20 band of ALL TIME..... check out "Bad" the live performance.... and the entire Joshua Tree album is considered by many to be perhaps one of the greatest albums ever.
Hey dude! Man, your reaction to this was veeery genuine. One is a very special song. Very special. Other U2 songs? Here's the thing... U2's sound changes with almost every record. To be short, they went from punk, to post punk, to experimental rock, to rock/college rock, alternative rock, more alternative, techno rock. A song like One? If God Will Send His Angles is great. With or Without You is obviously up there. But there are so many unique sounds, and unique songs. Like an ungodly amount. Cheers!
Check out anything from their magnificent album Achtung Baby. It's a masterpiece, by far their best album. Zoo Station is a great opening track and The Fly is a brilliant single. The album is very industrial rock influenced and was a big departure for them at the time. They really branched out and experimented with new sounds and styles in the 90's. It's my favourite decade of theirs.
My mother says that when I was a baby I had a lot of difficulty eating. And the only way my parents could get me to eat was by putting their U2 CDs and DVDs to play on the TV.
U2 are LEGENDS. They are known for their deep catalog and for their live performances-which sound just as good, if not better, than the studio tracks. Consider reacting to some U2 live performances: 1. “U2 - ALL I WANT IS YOU / WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME” Live at Slane Castle Epic transition & concert was just days after Bono’s dad, Bob, died & Bono was grieving but the band decided together to perform anyway. 2. “U2 - BAD (Live Aid 1985)“ Must be the Live Aid concert version; Iconic performance that changed the course of the band and was genuinely unplanned/off-the-cuff from halfway onward. 3. “[1983] U2 - SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY (live Rattle and Hum, 1988)“ Bold, political + musicianship & Bono in sublime voice.
Honestly bro any song from their “Joshua Tree” album is beautiful. Give em a listen.

SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY by U2 is amazing! 🤘🏻❤️
That is my favorite!
Cheers!
“One” was born on accident. The band almost ended around the time Achtung Baby/One was created.
Beautiful Day by them is my favorite!!
Oh man you already like it . LOL. Alex.
The entire Achtung Baby album is GOLD! It's a work of art!
My mother says that when I was a baby I had a lot of difficulty eating. And the only way my parents could get me to eat was by putting their U2 CDs and DVDs to play on the TV.
Chris Cornell has a version where he sings the lyrics of Metallica's One to U2's One music. Its incredible. Just him and his acoustic guitar.
U2 are LEGENDS.
They are known for their deep catalog and for their live performances-which sound just as good, if not better, than the studio tracks. Consider reacting to some U2 live performances:
1. “U2 - ALL I WANT IS YOU / WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME” Live at Slane Castle
Epic transition & concert was just days after Bono’s dad, Bob, died & Bono was grieving but the band decided together to perform anyway.
2. “U2 - BAD (Live Aid 1985)“
Must be the Live Aid concert version; Iconic performance that changed the course of the band and was genuinely unplanned/off-the-cuff from halfway onward.
3. “[1983] U2 - SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY (live Rattle and Hum, 1988)“
Bold, political + musicianship & Bono in sublime voice.
U2 songs:
