    Love seeing a different type of video! I just wanted to mention Farmers Insurance is not only for farmers (though it did begin that way about 100 years ago!) They mainly provide auto, home, and life insurance to everyone.

    Salaries vary a lot depending on how many people you end up managing

      Good point, Paul! It's hard to convey just how much salary can vary, but if you get into management, there can definitely be a big jump!

    Thanks you for this awesome content! And I have a question as well. i want to focus on casualty insurance in the future but i'm now starting to take examination of SOA from P and FM. Should i switch to taking exams of CAS now(there are still 2-3 years before i need to get a full-time job but I'm worried about whether it will affect my finding internship in casualty insurance company )

      Thanks for your kind words! I understand your concern. It's great that you're already thinking ahead. Since you have a few years before you need a full-time job, you might consider switching to CAS exams if you're sure about focusing on casualty insurance. Employers in this field often prefer candidates with CAS exams. But, completing SOA exams won't hurt your chances for internships either, as they demonstrate your strong actuarial foundation. Go with what aligns best with your long-term goals. Good luck with your studies!

    When should a student start learning python? After clearing how many papers?

    • @EtchedActuarial
      @EtchedActuarial  2 года назад +2

      Hi there! I'd recommend learning Excel and a programming language (Python is great) BEFORE you study for your first actuarial exam! I explain why here: ruclips.net/video/z10wT4qLa34/видео.html

    Where in the uk can I get work experience to better my chance into getting into ERM or like an internship at 16

    • @EtchedActuarial
      @EtchedActuarial  8 месяцев назад

      It's great that you're thinking about gaining work experience so early! In the UK, you can look for opportunities in financial firms, insurance companies, and consulting firms that offer internships or work experience programs. These places often have roles related to actuarial work. Also, consider reaching out to local businesses for shadowing opportunities.
      While my expertise is mainly in the USA and Canada, I recommend checking with your school’s career advisor or local job centers for specific opportunities in your area. Good luck on your journey to becoming an actuary!

    I appreciate your videos very much. Thank you! I’m just curious about one thing, the dozens of jump cuts. Are those intentional? They’re distracting and unnatural and make it a little more difficult to watch.
