Good afternoon screwdriver: Excellent video sir. Thanks for the transparency. What you most probably didn't realize is what an honest & honorable company you have. The spectrum analyzer clearly demonstrated there was additional harmonics that could not be removed even when you took extraordinary measures in an attempt to remove them. A more dishonest shop would never have shown the analyzer at all & called it good. Way to go sir & thank you for an excellent video, have a great 👍 weekend & 73's. TMP from N.J ❤.

I’ve been messing with radios since the middle 80s & I can’t hardly understand this dudes readings & this video isn’t making any damn sense. Go check out the tune up video on the Rooster CB shop channel - those are the #s you should be seeing. These radios will do 800 PEP watts all day long easily & sound clear as a bell. I’ve got (2) of them- both are 800w PEP. But yeah go check out the Rooster CB shop video on this radio. 👍🏻📻👍🏻
I’ve asked this as well , if you’re a sidebander at heart like me , let me share my costly opinion with you . Don’t buy this radio for sideband , they’re not much better than a Galaxy , that we all know is a drift monster . If you want a stable SSB radio , and you want several hundred watts ,, buy a tuned up converted Stryker 955 or an Anytone 6666 , (or Icom 7300 if it’s in your budget) and have one of the reputable amp builders , build you a 4 pill HD to run with it . It will be stable , and sound great over the air in DX land . This is my personal and financially learned lesson that I encourage other SSB enthusiasts to adhere to 👍. But In the end , it’s your choice and your money .
I just bought a 69 ffb4 I will never buy another big Ranger. The thing broke within a month. Besides that I’m getting better range on am with a little Grant 2 and rm Italy 300 p amp. I didn’t get the Ranger from Bells but I did get a good Connex 46 n turbo from Bells in which the 46 n turbo kicks ass I still use the Connex also

After watching this video I’ve come to the conclusion you don’t have a clue how to work this radio, it’s a 6 pill man you know it’s going to do more than 400 watts, like I said before mine does 625 watts. I don’t know what you did by tuning it up, looks like you messed it up.
I was specifically asked to Tune the radios circuits ONLY and NOT repair it, as he said it needed no repair. I made sure the radio was putting out it's maximum clean output at 14vdc on the power plug. I agree with you that 6x ERF9530's should be able to do roughly 600w. Maybe more like 500 if it were perfectly clean with no over-mod. I don't argue that. It is the first of these radios I have seen and I assumed it was working 100% and that the output was normal for this model. I could be wrong but it's ok....relax, you don't need to lose any sleep over it. It's happened before. It may happen again one day. ✌️

Mine does 135 watts on low side and 625 watts on high side with the amp on, your video didn’t impress me at all. And you’re still mumbling and not loud enough to hear everything you’re saying.
Sounds like your radio is producing way more harmonics than in this video just because you see high numbers on a watt meter doesn't mean its actual power the watt meter doesn't no the difference between power and harmonics not to mention the more harmonics it produces the more heat and more splatter on other channels and kills the radio can even get so hot to melt the soder and slide the parts off the bord its definitely not a good thing
