Indeed the event of ghadeer khum wasn’t about a political assigment (khalifah) but a heavenly matter. The Messenger has given God’s final advice and to the ummah to act accordingly. The rest is History.

I challenge any Salafi: convince me that the word Mawla, out of its 20 odd meanings, meant “friend” at Ghadir Khumm
U forget something brother. If allah appoints someone as a leader, then they will be the leader. If allah appointed ali (ra) then no way would abu bakr (ra) have been the first khalifa , which he was. Therefore we come to the conclusion that ali (ra) was never appointed by allah swt. If u claim the people appointed abu bakr against allahs command. Then my brother know that nobody can outdo allahs command. Also nahjul balagha sermon 92 the people came to ali (ra) after the death of uthman to give him bayyah to be their leader. Ali (ra) said leave me and seek someone else. These words from the imam (ra) destroy shia claims that he was appointed by allah as ali (ra) would never have disobeyed allah like that. Inshallah allah guide u to the truth. Salam

As Salaamu 'alaykum, is there a source text reference for the context of the Ghadir Khumm incident? The brother mentioned the context regarding the Ghaneema issue? If any of the brothers can point me towards where in our literature we have this context explained that would be very helpful (I have a person who is inclining towards the Shia methodology and I'm trying to guide them away from that, however this is pne of the evudemces they have specifically asked for this during our conversations).

And the Messenger is our beloved and our master. Why take one meaning and leave out the other when the Messenger is both ? He's more of our master than our friend, though. It makes more sense to give the word both meanings for it suits what the Messenger represents for us. A beloved master. If the Messenger is our beloved master, Ali also is.
If you have to leave out one meaning of the word, give your proof.

Abid Aoulad Ali the one who split from the ummah were the shia. Tell that to them, tell them to go back to the sunnah. Tell then to honor the sahabah. Tell them to honor the wives of the Prophet shallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Tell them not to pray to Ali rhadiyallahu anhu or Hussein or any other man.
Abid Aoulad Ali unite with deviated sects is of no importance in Islam...
