@goldenmoviepalace I posted this video to GAOH ages ago and after several months with no viewings I deleted it. I always seem to get a better response here on RUclips, so glad you found it! BAZ
She co-stars with Rex Bell in a Matinee Western here on RUclips. Look for Broadway to Cheyenne. You should look for George Hayes in the pic. She doen't appear until 21:48.
One of the many casualties of the coming of sound. But she had a good voice for the new process and had high hopes that she would be be a successful star with important roles. But the studios gave her more and more trivial work , her name slipped down the cast list, the public gradually forgot her and she retired in the early 1930s. For the rest of her life she never talked about her bitter defeat and never ever gave an interview despite many requests.
@@curbozerboomer1773 Well she divorced one husband and survived a second one had no children with either of them. As she seldom spoke of her Hollywood years and never, after her retirement, granted an interview, one can only surmise that she was a very down to earth character. Her older sister, Alice, was also a successful actress so no doubt Marceline picked up a lot of survival tips along the way. She lived an unpretentious life even in her success years so one can only guess that she invested her income wisely. Also she was married to her second husband until his death in 1980. Marceline Day died in 2000 aged 92.
What happened to her, is still common!...A beautiful woman in Hollywood is considered "over the hill" by the age of 30...so I do not think that the talkies eliminated her. Just age discrimination, and maybe not so willing to go "couch surfing" with those nasty producers, in order to get roles.
Beautiful. Thanks.
She was in 65 movies starting in 1923 ending in 1933! She was a big star and what a Lovely one!!!!!
Marceline Day is beautiful looking! I have read about her before but have never seen any of her films.
Beautiful. She was so endearing in The Camera Man.

How did she survive, on her own for most of her life?
