Grew up without my biological father. Didn’t meet him or know he existed till I was 16 and he left me again. Growing up I always vowed that if I ever had children I would do the exact opposite of what he did. Fast forward 4-5 years I’m gonna be 21 in August and I now have a daughter of my own who’s a year and a half old. And I will NEVER leave her side. My babygirl is my world
I recently met my biological mother and my biological "father" wasnt there an still isn't. I feel like my bio mother only came around bc the work is already done for her. But if I do have kids of my own I'm not letting their father b abscent I'll let him come over for a weekend an have a part of their lives I won't do then like my biological blood line did to me

I can relate to this. My bio-father left when I was a baby, my step dad stepped up and then my mom past away when I was 5 .. So, my step dad play both roles of a dad and mom. It was kinda awkward when he told me about periods and such lol. Now he's a good papa to my little. He's the real MVP.

And if I ever have kids I will never do to them what my dad did to me. Because it was horrible and I can't believe someone would ever do that. But I can't really blame him because he has BPD.

Same! My dad was a truck driver so he was gone a lot for work but, present in any way he could be. I can't imagine growing up without a dad at all, or like some kids I went to school with knowing your dad is in jail for a really long time.
Honestly, my dad wasn’t really in my life and this song is true for me when it says “they say dads are supposed to shape you in a way I guess mine did” because I grew up with a tougher exterior than other girls my age that did have a father and now I stand up for myself. Plus what you lack in a dad is normally made up for in a mom.
