Y’all make me wanna move to Japan. As a young American expat’s kid, I have a special place in my heart for Asia as we lived in Singapore for 3 years. I was very young but it’s always had a bit of a grip on me ever since.

Man, I thought watching this would satiate my wanderlust... Nope, it just makes me want to go back even more now! On the bright side, by the time things finally open I'll have enough airline miles to take home a wing or something.

@@getosuguru999 Definitely go if you can, and save up for a longer (2-3 week) trip if you can. Last year we snowboarded in Yuzawa, did a night in Osaka, and spent the majority of the trip in Nihombashi & Ikebukuro (Tokyo). I've got family there, but I'm not a citizen, so we're locked out until they decide to take visitors again... Oh, and while it may be tempting to stay your while trip in one area, _force_ yourself to get out there and see whatever you can. And for souvenirs, hit up a department store and buy normal, everyday items you'll use back home. You'll see them every day and smile long after you've returned.

I sure do miss my years living there. From 2014 to late 2016. And I still find it surprising over how I can say I lived in such an eastern country. Considering not everyone goes out of their way to live in Japan.

Tokyo at night is beautiful in nice weather, but the rain just makes all that color bleed together so nicely. It's like the city was made for HDR. If you wanna know what a camera's capable of handling, just take it out at night in Tokyo in the rain...
