Understanding Rectifier with C-filter

Sir i made a rectifier 140 v 40 Amp but when we connect capacitors 250 v 10000 microfaraday it take 1.5 times more rms current at input side why and how to reduce it

During 18:00 you say that time constant of C will be only by series Resistance and inductance etc. of the path......shouldnt it be also dependent on R0 (the load ) , Shouldn't time constant be actually be dependent on (R0||Rseries of diodes)
