Welcome to the Man Cave world! My work shed 'aka guitar engineering centre', has just about enough space to work in, once I squeeze past the Honda VFR 750 just inside the door. CD player and a secret stash of beer/wine often means the 'I won't be long' quote to the wife ends up as a 5 hour session! Stay safe Ben and thanks for the videos.
Timed builds are good, but I really enjoy the full process. I'd probably watch a real time 500 hour build. Especially in moments like this where I just woke up and am not alert enough to head out into the woodshop for the day.
I agree!!! I'd prefer to watch 1000 hours and see and hear AND learn every single aspect of the build than to watch a time lapse only highlighting the main parts! I want to know every idea, every thought and every decision. I mean... you can speed through routing, bandsaw, sanding, but nothing else. The long detailed videos are entertaining AND educational. Definitely build it!! I would vote for a medium length series. People have plenty of time to watch the series right now and also gives you plenty of time to excel the quality of the guitar instead of building it under a time crunch. Good luck and stay safe.
Ben, biuld it from the heart with your handa and your brain . How long it takes is not the issue. True Art takes time and right now we have a lot of it...blessings to you and all..:-)
I'm digging the lil' workshop. As for the twin neck...I think I would vote for a non-timed build. Seems like one that you would want to spend a lot of time on and not be rushed.
Thanks for continuing to share your talents Ben!! Here’s one I don’t think anyone has tried... Use “Micarta” for the body of an electric guitar 🎸 With your advanced skills, I’m sure you could easily build a press and make the rough micarta blank from scratch. You would be able to use any combination of layered colors you choose, then cut out and custom shape it any way you please! Hope you and your family stay healthy during these difficult times!!
I've been watching and enjoying Crimson Guitars for about 5 months now and from the brief time I've been getting to know you through you channel, I'd say the one thing missing from your shed is a Coffee Machine! What's missing from my workspace is... a workspace and a correctly functioning set of eyes. I have dyslexia and amongst all the challenges that brings is my hand-eye coordination, which is mostly significant through its absence. I have a creative mind and can design mentally but as to bringing those ideas to physical forms, I have yet to find a medium, forgiving enough, to accommodate my shortcomings, but one never knows... Looking forward to the new build. I'm sure a subject like Star Wars is bound to be smooth sailing and controversy free!

Hello Ben. Here in the States we been in lock down for Four weeks and thanks for the videos. On your wood shop all I can see you need a Air System or a Dust vac.on the outside with inlet inside. You need to build that awesome design Guitar , to put it over the edge at the end of the guitar make exhaust cut outs with Red LED light come on when you play it loud. Please keep the videos coming. It sucks in home lock down and can’t see my Mother in Law that is in a Nursing Home. Peace Be With You and family Greg
Well done Ben! Thanks for keeping us all entertained and educated whilst we are all locked down. Soooo excited to see this build. Starwars: Tick Twin neck: Tick Bass: Tick Set for a fantastic project! Design wise how about some lightsabre inlays? Or a really cool storm trooper helmet and Darth helmet inlay? Can't wait to see what you come up with.
The Star Wars double neck concept is very cool buuuuttt... since we are all sequestered to our homes and you will be working out of your homework shop, I think a more rustic, antique style/vibed guitar would be fantastic to watch you make with hand tools and fit the current circumstances. Perhaps even give building an acoustic guitar in said style a chance?? Whatever you end up doing, I'll be fascinated to watch as always! Stay safe and well!
I wish I was safe these days. I'm a paramedic, in a large American city none the less. I'll be in the middle of this until it ends or it ends me. Stay safe, and keep up the good work my dude. Love your videos.
This should be interesting to see how the guitar build comes along. I think it could very well encourage those of us whose shops don't have every tool in the universe at their disposal.
You’re going to need a Triton planer/thicknesser and a mini band saw for sure! Couldn’t survive this without mine. Hope you are all well and can’t wait for lockdown to end so I can come back and work at Crimson on fridays. Cheers, Kevan
Nice little shop. Needs a coffee tap piped in from the kitchen. Looking forward to the double neck build. Here's a silly suggestion regarding the build. Make the head stocks a single, unseparated half-moon arc with the tuners on the top and bottom of the arc. Told ya it was silly. Best to you and yours, Ben! Cheers....
Looks cozy and most important of all there is a lot of natural light. I am thinking of building a (easily) movable workbench with some storage which I could take out as needed and build completely outside in the nature. Cows are the coolest!
I really hope you have a decent security system! There's lots of scallys out there, chancing their arm! My mother in law had her shed broken into on Saturday and her clapped out mower nicked!! Stay safe! Looking forward to some awesome teeny shed big guitar builds!
I want to see an old school challenge or long form build - my kids have been raised on your commentary and enthusiasm! (my toddler has just watched this video once and immediately demanded we watch "guitar build a workshop again")
I love the design and I'd love to see it coming alive. As Tom said: Make it the best build possible rather than overstretching the "challenge" idea. But I guess you're way better in judging what's possible than me ;-) Stay safe and well, and your family.
Loving this, massively inspiring. As for the Star Wars theme, it would be awesome to see light sabres integrated into the design somewhere. Ever done inlays in the back of the neck? Either that or light beams sticking out of the end of the headstocks, now that would be some next level stuff. Keep it up, your keeping us entertained and sane!
Seeing as you asked, I much prefer the challenge being reflected in the complexity of the build versus the race against a timer. Also, you absolutely need to make the knobs for both guitar and bass look like satellite dishes and turrets. Great "limited" workshop.
I tend to agree.. I will do more race against the clock builds, I'm sure, but I prefer a more relaxed time frame. Dishes etc will certainly happen, no doubt. B
@@CrimsonCustomGuitars The world's got enough anxiety right now. We don't need another ticking clock. ;) Good luck with the build. Can't wait to see what you do with it. (Don't forget to add scoring (blaster) marks!)

Challenge for you Ben - select a subscriber, one who has at least some experience woodworking, and get them to show you every tool they own. From there, use only those tools to build a guitar. Nothing fancy, but a functional guitar. You may use up to $250 worth of specialty tools that you have in the tiny workshop. I'd enjoy watching that video series. Cheers, and best to you and yours. Be safe.
I built two electric guitars to a custom design in a shed which was smaller than that with less tools than you have. It can be done it just takes longer. I must admit to enjoying the videos that you put out whenever I get a chance to see them. I did email Crimson some time ago to see whether you would be interested in seeing some pics of my guitars but I guess it never made it through. Stay safe and enjoy the time at home.
Bravo Ben! It' as if you have come full circle! Home to shop, to bigger shop, to home again! You will prove you don't require a hugh area to build in! Looking forward to this more personal journey of guitar building. Thanxz
Hey Ben this is awesome! A build not in the fully equipped workshop but back in the shed! You should do an updated step by step instructional guitar building series from here, full process. It would be fun to watch and a reference point to go back to. Looking forward to the next video amigo!
I don't play bass or guitar but I really enjoy watching you craft stuff. I think this would be a cool build to incorporate that baritone scale guitar you have been promising as the guitar part. Otherwise a standard 4 string bass on one side and 5/6 string or fretless on the other would be nice fan service for all those bassists out there that waited for the first bass.
After moving home from uni due to Coronavirus I now have the time and resources to finally build a guitar mainly inspired by your channel. I've got a jigsaw, a router, a few rasps and a handheld sander and it's coming along nicely!
I just fell in love with your tiny workshop! And discovered we have nothing similar here on Brazil to be bought! So sad! As for the twin neck, it look amazing already. I would suggest to make both headless though! It would look more like a ship. But it is only my opinion, of course. As for a suggestion, I would like to see more videos of antique tools being restored. I just found an old spokeshave at my parent's house that belonged to my grandfather and started a restoration on it because of your videos. Also started making a guitar, which is much more complex! Thank you so much for the inspiration. Your videos and products are great.
Hah! I was just thinking to ask whether you looked back fondly to your days building guitars in a shed-and here you are. :) Looking forward more than ever to the no-power-tools build.
I love the idea of a twin neck (guitar and bass) Star Wars theme build; do it!! Your mini work shop is great; similar, although a bit smaller, to mine. Good job.
That twin-neck looks great! I'd love to see you build it. I would vote against a timed build, though. They're fun once in a while but I like videos when you aren't rushed. The shop looks good. But it's missing a coffee maker.
It really touched me and I think it might could interest you too. You and your family, stay healthy, greetings from a big fan of you and your work, Sascha Berlin 🎸
Love to see you build the twin neck. I speculate that you will get another one of those shed workshops to be a finishing room!? That would be pretty awesome!
Hi Ben, you are correct my own workshop is one wall in my bedroom. I have made a bed, workbench, tables etc. Alas no room for power tools. Regards Jim.
Ben although Im not a starwars fan At All.. I think the design is Awesome You are Truly a Mad Genius**** I hope You & your family & staff are all well, I cannot wait fir this pandemic too be over
Great that your lad is getting into turning, it's the most versatile tool in a workshop. Talking of workshops, I've got one half that size so I'm getting workshop envy.
Ben. I didn't see the inlay Jig that you would normally clamp into your vice. but DAMN that is my dream shed! Even when lockdown is over you would never get me out of it!
Pretty good. Coffee bay, kettle, small fridge. Not sure what tools are missing but they are probably in one of the boxes. No vote on a twin neck but OK on bass and guitar along the Star Wars theme. Just cut plan down middle, add a few bits.
I can remember the times when ben was doing it all in his shed. I learned so much about building from you, kinda feels nostalgic to see you go back in a tiny shed
It's great to see the kids helping out on the shed build, I'm looking forward to the day when I can make things with my offspring that don't involve glitter
It is so incredible being able to interact with them on this level.. I honestly don't need a workshop at home, virus notwithstanding, but the chance to have all three work with me on projects that interest them make it a necessity. Already had my 9 year old turning the other day and my daughter has booked the workshop for an hour later today.. I have said it before, but I love my life right now! B
Hi Ben, this is going to be awesome. you've also inspired me to tidy up my garage and hang my tools up, I've been tripping over tools and cords all day, I think the falcon would be cool and you could make it pretty comfortable to play with that shape, Take your time so we can watch you change your mind 50 times, have fun!
Glad to see you have found a way to keep doing what you love during this difficult time. I also love watching you do it, so win win. The guitar will be fun to watch. Still waiting to see you build the case for the 2020 build too ;)
I love this build idea. Please do it. Don't worry about "Challenge". The top must include plastic and metal finishes. Maybe a sleek grey paint. Red pin stripe? x- wing style..? wood grain just will not do on the top. Age the piece also. Make it look battle worn. IMHO
Stay safe Ben and everyone watching from home. I, however, am an "essential employee" here in Maryland. I am fortunate enough to still be able to earn a paycheck but I do have to deal with the public in a daily basis. I am NOT a medical worker. I do not deal with the sick at all. My job is classified as Agriculture so I am allowed to be out on the road. Anyway.... Can't wait to see this thing get built it looks amazing as all of the builds do. Wash your hands often. Mask your face. Social distance. Be kind.
Awesome as usual. Would you ever consider making a resonator guitar? That would be truly awesome as nowhere in england seems to do them.???? Love your content.
Good to see you happy and healthy man. My fondest memory of my grandfather was building a shed as a kid. You children will remember this for life. Good on you . Much love from Melbourne au
Well done Triton tools for supplying Ben with a selection of tools. Just the job for setting up a cool home workshop. Now, I'm just wondering if Crimson Guitars will send me a selection of their guitar measuring tools to complete my workshop. 😉🎸 Nice shed, what stunning stain you going to coat it in? Next guitar - 12 string would be good.
I so wish I had a workshop. Coming up to week six for me now. If things keep going longer, I might order a kit off ebay, and stains and finishing oils from you guys.
I didn't see a coffee mug... Thought that would be essential.

Be safe.
Great idea
I am so here for the Star Wars theme. Also, Ginger Cat Crowe is gorgeous.
He and his brother are lovely, about 9 months old and I love them inordinately. B
@@CrimsonCustomGuitars as you should.
oh yeah baby let's this awesone guitar !!
Beautiful! Have fun.. and don't think about the real world you have to go back to eventually. B
If you make them headless necks, it'll be stylistically similar to my old Casio DG-20
You don't mention having some sort of coffee-making device in the shed. That is surely as essential as any other luthiery tool. 🙂
Hah! I was just thinking to ask whether you looked back fondly to your days building guitars in a shed-and here you are. :)
Looking forward more than ever to the no-power-tools build.
Small workshop calls for a small instrument! I'd love to see you do an electric mandolin, see what sort of creative madness you can bring to it.
Thanks 👍
The kitties made this 1000% better! ❤️
Don't get me wrong.... I love everything you do. But I was actually looking forward to the building a guitar case video.
Hi Ben, this is going to be awesome. you've also inspired me to tidy up my garage and hang my tools up, I've been tripping over tools and cords all day, I think the falcon would be cool and you could make it pretty comfortable to play with that shape,
Take your time so we can watch you change your mind 50 times, have fun!
Not sure how it would work but you are the master, I’d love to see you build it as well as you can and not as a challenge.
Stay safe Ben! Keep inspiring! Thank you.
Thank you! Will do!
I’ve been wanting to build a twin neck bass/6 string (based around a Warlock style) for some time so this is perfect viewing for me - bring it on 🙂
Ben, it's like the old days! Back to building in the shed like your old videos. Love it. Stay safe and well all.
Glad to see you have found a way to keep doing what you love during this difficult time. I also love watching you do it, so win win. The guitar will be fun to watch. Still waiting to see you build the case for the 2020 build too ;)
Thank you so much! The case build will happen, just waiting on the parts
I love this build idea. Please do it. Don't worry about "Challenge". The top must include plastic and metal finishes. Maybe a sleek grey paint. Red pin stripe? x- wing style..? wood grain just will not do on the top. Age the piece also. Make it look battle worn. IMHO
BEN hope you are keeping safe love the videos you need to build this Star Wars twin neck guitar the plan’s that you designed look amazing
Thank you.. I do fully intend to build this one day. It will be great fun! B
I can't wait for next video. That will be amazing adventure, keep on build.
Very excited to see a hand tool build. I guess I still have a lot of tools to buy then.
I wish you health and well-being. We support you from St. Petersburg (Russia)🤝
Love your content.
chefshredder this, this*10^loads
Oh yes.
If we want Ben to build this, we need to somehow incorporate FIRE into the resonator theme!
I'd love to see that!
Good to see you happy and healthy man. My fondest memory of my grandfather was building a shed as a kid. You children will remember this for life. Good on you . Much love from Melbourne au
Those plans are insane... love it.
Well done Triton tools for supplying Ben with a selection of tools. Just the job for setting up a cool home workshop. Now, I'm just wondering if Crimson Guitars will send me a selection of their guitar measuring tools to complete my workshop. 😉🎸
Nice shed, what stunning stain you going to coat it in?
Next guitar - 12 string would be good.
Hello from Australia Ben ,please keep making video content as it is keeping me sane (or insane)mate ,good on you ,cheers Brad
More to come! Stay safe!
Best tool in your tiny workshop, the little honey bee eraser.
Good job, im'excited to see you build twin neck without bandsaw, stay safe, see you soon
The sketch reminds me of a Casio dg10/dg20, can't wait to see it finished!
I so wish I had a workshop. Coming up to week six for me now. If things keep going longer, I might order a kit off ebay, and stains and finishing oils from you guys.
BakerGlare do it, I put my order in week one here in Aus...
