in the novel during that part its written that hua cheng is happy or smiling or something and i remember thinking "why" so i reread it and i realized he joined their names so of course hua cheng will be happy lol
"Me seconds later" is also hua Cheng when he learned that-
So I'm not the only one who realized it too now 😀
the only reason his hair is on the side to such a drastic degree is because that sweet dumb boy "fixed" it to put it like that and he never changed it for the rest of the show
he actually wanted to fix it, in the novel he was about to ask if he should try again but they got interrupted by someone, i think it was the villagers who came to pray to Xie Lian after hearing that he is a god

there was a scene that wasn’t included in the donghua where Hua Chen just.. stared at Xie Lian in amusement when he finished brushing his hair but made the ponytail even more lopsided- the novel specifically said that Xie Lian hadn’t felt that embarrassed in centuries at that moment :’)
he was going to fix it for him but got interrupted, and by the time they finished it stated that Hua Cheng didn’t seem to care anymore haha

If none of those are accessible, the manhua is free on the BiliBili Comics app/web reader! You can also probably find English translations of the novel free online. And the donghua is on Netflix and Funimation/Crunchyroll with subscription. Hope that helps!

hahaha I love these four together...i love how hua cheng constantly provokes and annoy Mu Qing and Feng Xin and vis a versa..and how constantly Xie Lian have to come between them to break it apart...especially i love how Feng Xin and Mu Qing bicker and that Xie lian came up with a game called training idioms to distract their quarrels...wish there were more scenes of these guys all together on an adventure in the book...but unfortunately Mu qing and Feng Xing only accompany Xie Lian in the begging of Book one and then they towards end of the book their final adventure on Mount Tonglu they come together.
Yeah, I wish they had more time to reconcile their friendship. Really work through their issues and at repairing their broken relationships together. The trio really have a complicated but interesting dynamic.

And i want the actors will be xiao zhan and wang yibo they look so awesome together they are great actors
