Dear Mitch,
if you were unaware...in terms of armor value im going to list some items...
Iron helmet = Chain helmet = Gold helmet
Iron boobplate > chain = gold
Iron legs > chain >gold
iron boots > chain = gold
helmets are all very similar in armor value. its the durability which differs. as for pants chain is actually slightly better than gold ^_^ hope this helped!
