I understand your frustration with mislabeling this as VAWT but come on about the solar producing higher energy! A lot of people live further north that don’t get solar 98% of the sunny days those in the south do. Plus we have winter where there is less sun light hours and more snowy days both of which diminish the amount of power we would get from solar systems. Also no matter who you are or where you live your solar system is getting no power generation at night! This is why a wind turbine system makes sense for those of us in the great white north. Wind blows at night as well as the day creating power whether the sun shines or not meaning we may get more total power creation in 24hrs than your 5.6kW solar. To me and many of us up north buying 2 silentwind pro turbines makes better sense than buying a 5.6kW solar system that in all honesty is only going to be making power about 5-6 hours each day during the winter months. So keep your solar and the larger area needed to have enough panels to create 5.6kW, I’ll take the much more compact area it will require to put in 2 wind turbines to create my 3kW of wind power!

You may know a lot more than me about wind generators. I have only looked into it a little bit here. There are some important facts about wind generators that hit you up front. 1) you really do need quite a bit of power generated to even affect a battery bank. The bigger the battery bank the more power you need to make any effective charge. Batteries have an inherent resistance. You have to overcome that resistance before they charge. The bigger the battery bank the more power you need simply to begin charging the batteries. 2) the claims manufacturers make regarding how much power they produce are always massively over stated. The claimed power out by the manufacturers requires extremely high and SUSTAINED wind. Typically the power out is.much, much less than the manufacturer claims. 3) Resiliance: these things wear out really, really quickly unless you get an extremely high quality unit. Marine turbines built to sustain ocean environment are going to last a whole lot longer. The type of magnet will influence longevity. Chinese manufactured units will typically perform poorly and wear quickly. However, there are some good ones. If you want to go with a chinese brand there is a terrific RUclips channel that does an amazing job reviewing Chinese made turbines. It's called: Toys For Watts 4) The pole has to be really strong or else it will come crashing down. It is highly recommended you have a pole built that allows you to fold it over. This lets you lower the unit to the ground during times of maintenance or hurricane. 5) like any other power source, you do need lots of investment and equipment to convert the turbine energy to usable charging current. That's the brief overview. My feeling is to learn much more about it. There are types (vertical and horizontal - horizontal performs better however a vertical unit allows you to have two on a pole running in such a way to double energy). The type of blades is important. There is a unit called the "Liam" which makes sense (a screw like blade design). There are some designs that make very little noise. In the final analysis, it might be best to use a combo: solar and wind. Having access to water would be absolutely the best option: micro hydroelectric.

How does this work when it has a rudder for wind direction on the casing? 🤔🤥

@@Infinityfields 0.7kwh is what the video states; I say that the largest I've seen is only 0.46kwh...is it clear now? Never said solar panels are the cure for anything. You don't consider solar as an option, that's ok. Wind might be better for you, and that's ok too. Your point is?
Batteries are absolutely needed for any wind turbine. They ensure voltage remains stable so your lights and TV don't shut off dozens of times per hour.
the website shows them as DC power (12,24,48v) suppose that needs to be paired with dc->ac conversion the same way as solar panels. They look to be primarily focused on marine applications, not home.
I went to their website, and nowhere did I find 1.5 kw output. Everyone of those things put out 500 or less. They have a 12v, a 24v and a 48v.. nothing even close to 1.5kw
Misleading title. You are not confused. This is NOT what a Vertical Axis device looks like in operation. You don't need a schematic to clarify. It is a small version of those big windfarm HAWT devices, so has to swing around to point into the wind. A VAWT does not do that! The voiceover is ill-informed puffery lacking in performance details. You would need a bunch of these, plus a battery, to run a home. Contrary to the narrative, 1.5 kW is barely enough to run a kettle or a heater and not enough for both at the same time.
@@EdMorbius46 That is exactly why if you want to go off grid and use renewable energy you should not have electric heaters and stoves. 1.5kW is enough to power my home unless I use a microwave but that is also why any use of renewable energy should be connected to a battery storage system. With a battery storage system you may not need multiple wind turbines, but as someone who prepares for problems, having 2 or more always makes sense for redundancy in case one breaks down or has to be repaired or have maintenance done.
Very interested!!! One question: We are sometimes hit with ice storms. Clear ice being an issue that can cover everything with a half inch or better. The blades of the turbine would no doubt be affected. Are the blades heated, or can they be cleared of ice somewhat easily?
I think that part is just poorly explained it’s still a HAWT but the HAWT is acting similar to a VAWT by spinning around to follow the wind. But the actual charging part is definitely HAWT. I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt
@@shanonedser1Yeah, they do. Check again for the axis the blades are actually rotating on. It is a HAWT. The vertical rod is so the blades can catch the most wind.
Total bull-crap. This is rated to produce 420 watts of power with a 29 knot wind. At 19 knots it only generates 100 watts worth of output. To get that kind of windspeed, on a consistent basis, you have to put up a sizable tower, ensuring this HAWT is well above existing rooflines and treelines. By the time you pay for the turbine, the tower to get up to usable wind speeds, and then the cable to run the power down to your controller, you could have purchased enough solar to triple the total output. The only place turbines like this make ANY sense at all, are in extreme latitudes, where solar potential is limited and the wind is relentless.
Perhaps advertising standards would consider this video as being illegal as it describes a wind generator that is certain not a vertical axis generator; that can power a house - not on 1.5kwh output; and is silent in operation. Just who do you think you are kidding?
the more dependable , system is to use multiple systems , wind solar and in rare instances a generator to use only when necessary!!!!!! batteries to store excess power to use when generation is low. also conservation always
@@michaelfitzpatrick6264 Horizontal refers to the generator, not the blades, and at 2:06 where he compares it to the standard wind farm, they are identical, if a bit smaller
The blades are unbreakable because of carbon fibre. I tested it with a big bird on the way from New Caledonia to Australia... Newer blades are painted in two colours for better visibility.
What did you do for the birds ? How about instead of the bird mutilating fans you try the fans that use the wind going into the holes on a round object - kinda like a water wheel. Try that so birds are safe please - or maybe its a noise issue?. God bless you.
The output of a solar panel is Watts (power) or Watt-hours (energy). KW per hour is meaningless! Also you compare one turbine with one solar panel. This is nonsense. A typical home may have from 4 to 50 solar panels - would you install that number of turbines on your home? Everything you are showing is an horizontal axis (HAWT), so please fix this video!
Can we use it's generation voltage to solar inverter (48 voltage system )and how ? We have 6kw solar system connected with 4 tubular batteries 230Ah already
It's possible but you need to find a MPPT controller that handles wind turbines, mine can be used just wind or wind and solar together, the higher it can handle in amps the more watts it can handle
Way too expensive Way overexaggerated performance And wow, sure looks like and constructed like a HAWT. Nothing vertical about it except the pole it would be mounted on and the "rudder" to change direction
If it takes 3 years to pay for this wind turbine how can it be affordable there's no such thing as low wind speed without some sort of modification to the charge controller
When you use verbage like 570%, offend me because it seems to violate the laws of physics. Normally, these % refer to how much energy you get OUT versus how much went IN. You can not exceed 100%. PV tops out at about 20% but is getting better. What you're really saying is that it gets 570% more than PV, but how much PV? It's just so wrong and misleading, on top of all the other problems other than what others are pointing out
Click Bait. Solar does not change. But wind does. I live in northeast. 10 years ago when I did wind. It was windy most of the time with gusts to 50 mph most times when windy. Now it is just the opposite. 0 wind in the summer and not much in the spring and winter. But my solar cranks day after day. 750 watts produces more in 2 months than my two 1200 watt turbines at 25 MPH all year now.
Actually solar does change. You being in the northeast must see this in the winter! The more north you are the less daylight you get in the winter which means you will get less power and let’s not even discuss the cloudy snowy days where your solar is even less effective. By the way how much power does your solar crank out at night? Yeah thats what I thought 0% once the sun is down so is your solar power system. Most people who want wind turbines will do their research and base their purchase on what they find out during their research investigation.
video states 1.5kw power, while the website says 420w for the 12v a huge difference the 48v is only 500w so the whole video is based on false information

I’m not calling you a liar but your facts or opinions seem to be not matching which in turn makes you look like you don’t really know what you are talking about.
Most panels I have seen create 400w not to say there aren’t ones that create 750w but solar is not an absolute cure all for us in the north where sunlight is not abundant in the winter months. This is why wind power makes more sense in this area.
@@Infinityfields
Fact: your solar panels will create no power at night! WE AGREE ON THAT.
Fact: even during the day you can have cloudy rainy days where your solar creates less power than you expect it to. HERE COME THE BATTERIES TO THE RESCUE, ALTHOUGH 6 X 0.4 KWH SOLAR PANELS CAN GIVE YOU AN AVERAGE OF 0.5KWH NO PROBLEM ON A CRAPPY DAY.
Fact: the wind often blows at ALL times of the day creating power whenever the wind is blowing! THE WIND DOESN'T BLOW ALWAYS, UNLESS YOU LIVE IN MOUNT WASHINGTON. SILENTWIND WEBPAGE STATES THAT, FOR ITS PEAK 420W OF POWER, YOU NEED TO PAY ABOUT 3200 USD (TURBINE + MAST HARDWARE). IN THIS VIDEO, THEY STATE 1.5KWH WHICH I PRESUME ITS WHAT YOU GET ON AVERAGE FOR THE DAY, WHICH IS NOT ENOUGH. FOR 3000 USD YOU CAN GET A BLUETTI AC300 INVERTER WITH TWO MPPT's + 3072W BATTERY + ONE 0.4KWH SOLAR PANEL THAT'LL AT LEAST TOP UP THE BATTERY MOST OF THE DAYS.
Fact: your solar panels need a lot more area to create power than this very small wind turbine does! FYI, YOU NEED AT LEAST 2 SQM TO POSITION THE PEGS FOR THE MAST, WICH IS LESS THAN A SOLAR PANEL. NOT TO MENTION THE HEIGHT AND THE 40 db NOISE.
Fact: you also need an inverter and batteries to create and store your solar power to use at night when your solar is not creating any power! YEAP, NO NEED TO RELY ON HOW THE WIND IS BLOWING, OR IF IT'S BLOWING ENOUGH.
Fact: CO2 is the enemy when it is created at a higher rate than normal due to human industry. WHAT'S NORMAL? THE MORE CO2, THE GREENER THE PLANET GROWS. EVEN FARMERS HAVE BEEN USING CO2 BLOWERS FOR A VERY LONG TIME TO GROW GREENS QUICKER. TOO MUCH CNN AND MSNBC.
Fact: the increase of CO2 has caused temperatures to rise in areas where normally it is cold (mainly permafrost areas and the arctic), this increase in temperature (since you didn’t want to say it) is melting permafrost and releasing large quantities of methane gas! OF COURSE, CLIMATE CHANGE ONLY HAPPENS BECAUSE OF HUMANS; LIKE IT HASN'T BEEN HAPPENING SINCE...FOREVER. BTW, CO2 IS A COOLANT GAS; LOOK IT UP. TOO MUCH WIKIPEDIA.
Fact: methane is 100 times more dangerous than CO2 because it causes temperatures to rise higher and quicker than CO2, the only bright spot is methane lasts a fraction of the time CO2 does but it will boost the speed of global warming faster than the CO2 will. AND THAT'S WHY YOU WOULD AGREE TO BUTCHER ALL THE CATTLE ON THE PLANET, TO SAVE THE PLANET, BECAUSE THEIR FARTS ARE PURE CH4 GAS, RIGHT?
Not Fake: this turbine will create power for more hours of a 24hour day than your solar will including at night when solar is useless. ARE THERE DAYS, OTHER THAN 24 HOUR DAYS?
@@Infinityfields
0.7kwh is what the video states; I say that the largest I've seen is only 0.46kwh...is it clear now?
Never said solar panels are the cure for anything.
You don't consider solar as an option, that's ok. Wind might be better for you, and that's ok too. Your point is?
With back up batteries you can go with out on those cloudy days too. You can also get a generator too.
I would be interested to buy one to charge power banks that I have in my van
DON'T FALL FOR IT! MADE IN CHINA. It's amazing what a little ink can do.
Too bad US can’t build it.
This sound amazing, I would like one. No storage batteries are mentioned, perhaps they are not needed?
Batteries are absolutely needed for any wind turbine. They ensure voltage remains stable so your lights and TV don't shut off dozens of times per hour.
There are two options. With batteries to have a buffer or directly feeding the public grid when it is allowed ( or a combination of both)
Basically a 9 minute advertisement saying all the things all the other manufacturers say.
the website shows them as DC power (12,24,48v) suppose that needs to be paired with dc->ac conversion the same way as solar panels. They look to be primarily focused on marine applications, not home.
It comes with a inverter
I went to their website, and nowhere did I find 1.5 kw output. Everyone of those things put out 500 or less. They have a 12v, a 24v and a 48v.. nothing even close to 1.5kw
Sure looks like a HAWT Maybe a cutaway would have dispelled my confusion.......
Nope this is NOT a VAWT.
@@terrybeckelheimer3633It certainly is not!
I stopped taking this seriously on hearing 1.5 "kW per hour", at around 1:20 minutes in.
I noticed this too - this entire video is nonsense!
Yes I love this silent WinProbe not too happy with the price
Solid commercial full of buzzwords for a $600 BASIC HAWT, selling for $2,000.
Nice try
good for about 60w only.
can buy same thing online for $250
Yes I like to have 3 of them
They its available in the USA. So where is the link to purchase??🤔
nice very nice/thanks much
Very interested!!! One question: We are sometimes hit with ice storms. Clear ice being an issue that can cover everything with a half inch or better. The blades of the turbine would no doubt be affected. Are the blades heated, or can they be cleared of ice somewhat easily?
It looks like a scam buddy! They don’t even know the difference between HAWT and VAWT!
Very Interesting
Can I install a wind turbine on my RV?
What is the cost for a DYI ?
what types of appliances can thing thing run?
toasters or a small light bulb?
You did not tell the name of the official web site to order one in the USA?
Excellent when the Wind Blows, otherwise a dud.
Hmmm a big cycle dynamo …. Where can you purchase one as there is nothing in the link
Cheers
I stop watching when the voice over is confused between power and energy. KW and KWh. A clear sign of a scam.
THIS IS NOT A VAWT (vertical) IT IS A HAWT (horizontal)
It doesn't look like a horizontal turbine the blades are not horizontal to the ground for a start
@@michaelfitzpatrick6264 Horizontal refers to the generator, not the blades, and at 2:06 where he compares it to the standard wind farm, they are identical, if a bit smaller

Does it have a guard to keep the birds out and keep from breaking the blades?
No, it chops the birds into little pieces. They make good fertilizer.
But I wanted to put them on the bbq pit.
The blades are unbreakable because of carbon fibre. I tested it with a big bird on the way from New Caledonia to Australia...
Newer blades are painted in two colours for better visibility.
Where is it available in india. ?
Give the contact number of people who have bought it and is using .
Describing their product as VAWT is simply wrong It's a HAWT just like all the others.
Is there reason why you can't put one on car?. e,g engine burnout??
What did you do for the birds ?
How about instead of the bird mutilating fans you try the fans that use the wind going into the holes on a round object - kinda like a water wheel. Try that so birds are safe please - or maybe its a noise issue?.
God bless you.
Would like to see how long this lasts with the 60-120km/h winds we get here.
No problem, approved up to 122 km/h
Liking it
ah yes, the "vertical axis wind turbine" that is suspiciously horizontal...
Looking at the construction its so similar to a 300W Chinese wind turbine
Those diodes are only a few amps 😅 not 1.5kW
2k for 420watt at 12v? I can generate at least twice that for half the price.
But these are old tech, Why not use Archimedes style turbine. It can operate at much lower air speeds than any blade type generator.
What is the Decibel level of it?.
We need it in South Africa 😅
GREAT
The output of a solar panel is Watts (power) or Watt-hours (energy). KW per hour is meaningless! Also you compare one turbine with one solar panel. This is nonsense. A typical home may have from 4 to 50 solar panels - would you install that number of turbines on your home? Everything you are showing is an horizontal axis (HAWT), so please fix this video!
How does it plug into a house?
Will it run 220😊
Cost?
Can we use it's generation voltage to solar inverter (48 voltage system )and how ?
We have 6kw solar system connected with 4 tubular batteries 230Ah already
It's possible but you need to find a MPPT controller that handles wind turbines, mine can be used just wind or wind and solar together, the higher it can handle in amps the more watts it can handle
Way too expensive
Way overexaggerated performance
And wow, sure looks like and constructed like a HAWT. Nothing vertical about it except the pole it would be mounted on and the "rudder" to change direction
How much price
If it takes 3 years to pay for this wind turbine how can it be affordable there's no such thing as low wind speed without some sort of modification to the charge controller
Sir.Its A.C. or D.C.Carent
What about Sydney, Australia…?
this looks like some rebranded chines wind generator, all is nice and well said in this vid, just what everyone wants to hear, be careful

It's just so wrong and misleading, on top of all the other problems other than what others are pointing out
A great green electric supplement for a mobile home installation. Mobile home roofs cannot support solar panels.
Why not? Please don't tell me that the roofs aren't strong enough.
