I had a problem with a bank questioning me. The bank is Frontwave credit union. It was formerly pacific marine credit union and I really loved the bank when it was pacific. All the sudden out of nowhere they change from this colorful nice bank drastically to a bold black and white logo that sounds kinda concentration camp. Of corse they sent a letter stating their change and specifically stated that it would be the same old as it always was and “Nothing was going to change” The next week , everyone at the bank was fired and I saw one of the main bankers the next town over at one of my other banks. I had money that I wanted to exchange for smaller bills and the 20 year old daddy’s little girl that was now running the bank asked me where I got my money from !! I quit banking there faster than the other bankers that got fired were dumped without any knowledge or anything.
I went to the bank a couple of months ago to withdraw $2k. The woman teller thought she would be cute and question me indirectly by asking if I was using the money for home remodeling. The idiot could see that I live in an apartment so why would I take out money to remodel someone else's place? I pushed back and asked her if she always questions people over such small withdrawals and she said it's a "best practice" to ask. Well guess what? My best practice was to close out my checking, savings, and money market with them. Oops! Guess you can say her best practice backfired.
@@ohthatguyog this is truly the case, I needed some cash from Wells Fargo, they told me it would take a few days “to put my order together” what the hell
I always like to flip the script on some desk jockeys. Like when the teller counts out my money, I count it back in front of them, might hold the 50 up to the light to confirm its real. Or the doctors receptionist asks if I am still on Blue Cross insurance I say yes, and she wants to see my card, and then ask if the doctor is still covered by malpractice insurance and can I see a copy. "Sorry its just standard practice and I am required to do it. Have a nice day !"
My issue with banks is when they start asking questions.. Why do you need the money? Where did you get the check? What are you going to do with the money?
How about don’t answer the questions. Why is everyone such a damned coward anymore? My father’s generation would tell them to take a hike asking questions like that.
Banks are scum. I have a teller who asked me if I was going on vacation while making a withdrawal. I made her repeat the question ... what did you just say? Going on vacation? I then promptly told her that it was none of her business what I was doing. She tried to play it off as if she was just making small talk ... but it's not. They're taking names and making calls. Now she knows to keep her mouth shut when I go in there.
Its true the banks ARE insolvent...in October I went to my bank of many years to withdraw a few thousand from my account and the manager questioned me if I had called ahead to make an appointment essentially and she explained its because they dont always have enpugh money on hand and in certain denominations. My suggestion to everyone is diversify your money and holdings into Gold and Silver. Always have $500 cash or more at home along with accounts at more than one bank. They also asked me for what I needed it for.
Actually it's illegal in a lot of the country ro not accept cash. Check your local laws and you can threaten bad businesses lol, we had a hipster poke bowl restaurant try that crap here... needless to say they don't exist anymore.

I had a similar situation this week. I had a handful of fives tens and twenties equalling $500. I went to my bank and asked for five $100 bills. It took ten minutes of him clicking on a computer. Why? what the hell was he doing? In the end I got my cash, but why treat me like I’m a criminal?
About a week ago I went to my bank to take out $3,000 cash it took about an hour and a half that will not give me my money they kept asking security questions that I kept answering then the bank manager came out and asked me what I was spending my money on and I thought to myself I don't have to tell you nothing but I ended up telling them I am going to go buy some silver and gold they ended up giving me my money

I only worked for on company in my life that gave a bonus and that was 40 years ago and the bonus was a $25 gift certificate for a local grocery store and my pay at the time was $240 a day.
Anything but a payroll check may be subject to a three day hold. Banks and stores that wire money are training their people to look for victims of fraud. The only way they can look for fraud victims is to ask questions. However... it is true when withdrawing large sums of cash your bank may require you call ahead to order it. I had to do that when I needed $15K in cash to pay a toll bill after an accident so that I could collect my personal property from the tow yard while the insurance company and tow yard negotiated the final payout.
last time i did something like that i asked how long before its available if i deposit it, they said 1-2 days. i said i wanted to cash it then, and they did. then i handed the cash back and asked to deposit it. I was told that that was intentionally circumventing their procedures, and if it happens in the future i could be asked to close my account
I had a similar issue cashing a small check, around a hundred bucks, at a BOA, on the day before Xmas eve, and the teller was claiming computer issues, as their machine that they run the check thru refused to process it. We tried 4 times, and I had to be switched to another teller who already rebooted her terminal, where now I was asked if I was an account holder, and again system refused the check. Then, after the 6th try, I was asked for my ID, and now the teller claimed the issue was I was an out of state customer, and she then typed something in system, and like magic, the small check was cashed...
