Baarle: Living in Two Countries in the Same Town 2151pm 20.5.23 good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. when you are being chased by the cops. just run into the kitchen!!!!!! and if you dont wanna do dat you can do dis....
In the Brazilian and uruguayan border, there is Santana do Livramento in br and Rivera in Uruguay, and is just like one city, but the line just crosses it from side to side, but nothing this crazy
I was born and grew up in a not dissimilar situation in the Greater Kansas City area: a single sprawling metroplex spread out over 5 counties in 2 states. That's not similar at all. I know it is hard to explain these things to Americans but what you're describing is utterly different and so much more insignificant that a national border
Belgium and the Netherlands are members of the European Union. Within the European Union, you do not need a visa or passport. All citizens are allowed to move freely within the European Union.
Baarle: Living in Two Countries in the Same Town 2149pm 20.5.23 MR & MRS Baarle...... is this a similar issues Kansas City has it seemingly being on the border of two states?
Imagined a muder happen in a house sharing two countries together and in the court the lawyer said he was attacked in Belgium but dead body found in Netherland 😅😅😅
You didn't show the best part: they have a post office on the border, with half a Bpost (🇧🇪) office, and half a PostNL (🇳🇱) office, so you can post with the right agency. If you accidentally post a letter to the Netherlands from the Belgian service, for example, you need a more expensive stamp, and also it'll pass Brussels first, completely unnecessary!

Great to hear :)
Absolutely fascinating!
Very interesting
This is so cute! I would live here if I could 😊😂
*100/100!!!*
I'm so worried, I think baarle residents are both double taxated by both countries

It’s not the only town in two countries. Lichtenbusch, for example is partly Germany and partly Belgium.
do they still need visas or passport to cross? I'm really wondering or are the people allowed to cross anywhere or at least just in that town

That's quite tricky
