Thank you for the clear and concise explanation as to what we can expect from this system and also for informing us where the term "cyclone bomb" comes from.
Please pin this: Bombogenesis is a technical term. It's not made up, it's literally in all weather books. The actual term defines rapid intensification of a mid-latitude cyclone, where the central pressure drops by at least 24 millibars in 24 hours. People acting like this is a made up thing.
No ones arguing that, they're arguing it's a ridiculous term ment to drive fear and attention, created by small weather men who need to be noticed for their incredibly difficult work..
@@PhiTonicsEXACTLY. Pretty sure this isn’t the first time we’ve ever experienced this. This is an example of why I hate media at times. Instilling fear and panic when it’s not necessary. Just make people aware, put the precautions out there. Leave the freaking dramatics out of it.
This storm is much stronger than the Columbus Day storm, it has the lowest pressure of any low pressure system in the northwest. The difference is, it’s not going over land, it’s going out to sea. If it did come over the peninsula, there would be widespread catastrophic damage equivalent to a borderline cat 3 hurricane.
Would you guys please stop saying "bomb" cyclone. You're just trying to sensationalize for clicks and views. This started a few years ago and is really annoying. I guess for you weatherman nerds you think it sounds cool. It actually sounds lame and needy. Similar to the terms "buzzkill" and "caveot" that flooded main stream media and broadcasting about 20 years ago. Just plain annoying.

yea but hes enthusiastic about more then informing us if this is a real hazardous situation
Thanks for updates! 🙏
Oh No! Wind and rain in Washington during late fall... Who would have guessed.
And flooding, always around Thanksgiving.
Don’t forget about the hurricane force winds along the coast
We don't get wind this bad. Thousands of people are out of power and there have been people Killed. This isn't a joke.
This was an exceptional windstorm. Over a million people are in the dark around Western Washington tonight.
Thank You Weatherman!
I love getting alerted by first alerts, but what about second and third alerts?
My powers out, essentially it seems hurricanes and cyclones have more similarities than differences.
It's a hurricane. What's this new term all the sudden

Mine’s been flickering, thinking my own fault from backyard tree limbs near wires here on Fremont hill . . . where are you?
A cyclone is a hurricane the difference is the ocean it was formed in
@@berict- bomb cyclone (the scientific term is bombogenesis) has been around for years.

this sounds like a winter version of a hurricane.
It ain't. Not even close. Hype.
Kyle Kuzma is on the local news now 😂
It’s 6:43pm in Lakewood, WA. So far nothing but an occasional hint of a breeze.
Two minutes later here in Bonney Lake we lost power and 30 seconds later it came back on. Still pretty windy. I've seen worse but we will see.
@@DanlowMusic Our lights keep flickering here in Spanaway - but there is no wind at all.

Typical PNW weather. Happens every year around this time. A big nothing burger.

So the high winds will be coming from the east? Literally being sucked into the unprecedented low pressure system off the coast?
Yep. Looks like again big time on Friday . . .
Look at the cold air mass comong out of Alaska picking up all that moisture off the Gulf of Alaska, Pacific being entrained into system
7pm. Some heavy winds tonight up in Eatonville. Thank you for a great heads up!

this is what we get for making fun of hurricane Milton :(
Its fine here in Rochester.
In Texas it was hurricanes now its bomb cyclone
It's fun how you show the wind blowing from east to west, but somehow the storm system is moving from west to east. How does that make sense?
Watch the graphics at 0:26 - 1:08, you can see how the wind is moving counterclockwise. I imagine the entire system is moving inland at the same time.
almost 8pm still very a quite night
Quick survey: Anyone experiencing joint pain or anything else with the rapid change in barometric pressure? Asking for a friend.
4 stong winds that blow lonely seven seas that run high😂😂😂
I don’t see anything (yet) different from a normal November storm.
