    I managed a store in Madison Square for three years, 1987-1989. I enjoined my time in Huntsville and made many friends while there. It was a beautiful mall for it’s time.

    I miss this mall for sure. My mom worked at Castner Knott in 88-89 before I was born.

    It honestly makes me so sick that this mall is now demolished! I had so many great memories hanging out with my friends going with my parents when I was really young… Love this mall! Damn to the depths of hell whoever demolished this mall!

    I have some rather… odd memories of MS. *During its final years of operation,* I remember bungee-jumping on a trampoline and playing in the kids’ play area at the food court. I even got to play pinball at the arcade!

      @@entertainme7523 how is “Black Friday” a racist term?

    • @chillydawgg4354
      @chillydawgg4354 2 года назад +1

      They started calling it black Friday because that's when the stores could expect to be "in the black" (profiting) for the year as opposed to "in the red" (not profitable yet) for the year

    I’m still hunting for old advertisements of the mall I used to frequent from 1978-1985 in Cutler Ridge, Florida called the Cutler Ridge mall. Searching RUclips and Google has been fruitless. The mall was destroyed in 1992. Another mall was built on the same site afterwards called the Southland mall but it is absolutely not the same as the old Cutler Ridge mall.

    I bet people got sick of that jingle. I wish they had shown more of the mall so we could read more store names clearly and see how the stores were arranged in relation to each other.

    I can tell by the high socks the boy is wearing at the beginning of the video that it’s definitely circa 1970s. Possibly even as far back as 1974.

    I've not seen a Pearle Vision in years, had forgotten about this company & Wicks 'N' Sticks we used to have one at our mall in Lubbock but had closed up but never knew was a chain. We still have a Chick fil- a in our mall as on street in Lubbock, Texas. Interesting video.

    I spent a lot of time in Orient Way...they had nunchucks, swords, martial arts uniforms and magazines (and later, a display window full of rock band t-shirts). Didn't Boardwalk Fries have a red-tiled hot dog restaurant next to it, or am I thinking of something else?

    Those are the worst commercials... They didn't help keep that dying mall alive. I operated a store in the eighties. Business magazine's I subscribed to predicted the death of malls back then. People don't have time to waste walking around a mall draging bags around a mall.
