Yes. I’ve been waiting for another upload from her for so long. Does anyone know what happened to her and why she deleted the reading it in one day video?
@@EoinWalsh she deleted it because their was a lot of controversy about the author and she didn’t want to support him, so she took down the video. I think she said it in one of her last videos she posted. I think she said that he was homophobic or transphobic.
I think she may have cut it out on purpose? I remember her saying in one vlog that people were very concerned about her caffeine intake so she made a point of being all "LOOK, I'M DRINKING WATER!" hahaha but yes I miss it too!
Watching you and your dad be silly and goofy together makes me so happy. I lost my Dad Christmas Eve in 2018 and as it is getting nearer and nearer this year to his anniversary, I am a bit down, but watching you and your dad joke and play around has made me feel better. Thank you for your content! It has helped me more than I could really express.

Zoe!! Do you have any idea how much I’ve missed you!!??😭😭 please upload more and more.. you’re the only booktuber I enjoy watching. More love and success to you.❤️❤️
Shame you didn't get to finish Hardcastle because I think you should give it a full chance. I read it back in September and although it was a mind bending, strange, creepy, slower burn book, I really enjoyed it. I love how clever it was with time and how you can't trust anyone. The pace does pick up a lot. I feel like it has unlikeable characters and I didn't really think of it as fat-shaming. I understand how you got that, but I feel each character has its struggles and strengths, some intelligent but immobile, some dumb but active. Nasty people, indifferent people and he has to work with each one. Like I said the main character is not a nice person but I love how this experience really changes him by the end. If it's not for you that's fine but I personally think getting to the end is worth doing xx
7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was probably my favourite book of 2019. I absolutely love it despite its flaws, but then again, I was hooked and couldn't put the book down since the first chapter! For me it never dragged on or felt slow, so maybe it just isn't for you :(
It was my favourite book of 2018 and I still think about it a year later. It came out in the UK a lot earlier so it's been interesting seeing it being picked up a bit more this year.
I keep coming back to your vlogs but I think this one is my favourite. So cozy, so cute with your dad, the cabin and the walks... I hope you're doing well
I understand your point about fat phobia within the Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle but my personal view is that it's not written in a way that makes it seem acceptable. It's written so that you don't like the main character and that he has flaws because of the poor ways he chooses to think. The character later in the book realises that his perceptions lead him to only look at the negative rather than what was beneath the surface and he was punished for not focusing on the things that really mattered or that were important. I understand that it caused you not to be interested in the story and although I loved this book it doesn't make sense for another person to continue on if you don't enjoy it. However, I also think that not including things like fat phobia and racism etc. in books can be really detrimental because it's just sweeping an issue under the carpet that still exists. I think the bad things need to be in fiction as well in order for people to be confronted with it and raise those discussions in order to educate and break down those barriers and those stereotypes. I don't think it should be spoon fed to the reader that it's wrong especially in adult fiction. It can be done in more subtle ways with different perspectives that challenge that behaviour. If we only have fiction that represents the good things about society then we are just lying to ourselves and placating ourselves in a false sense of security by pretending that bad things and opinions that are different to our own don't exist. I think it's a much wider issue than purely that book raises but I think it's something that should be discussed more.
I totally agree. personally, I feel Zoe has trouble understanding why such language is used. I read her IT review and she'd rated it a 2 because of the slurs etc used. I understand these things aren't pleasant to read but you have to understand their purpose.
Everyone has a degree to which they can tolerate racism, fat phobia etc in books. I also think that being overweight to a certain degree makes it harder to go through the activities of daily living because I have worked with people like this. A lot of them have an alarming amount of self hate which is so sad. I think that was the saddest part of the character for me. His mind was the best in the book. The occupied character I had the most trouble with in 7 1/2 was the next character. Yuck. The very last ending was not my favorite either. Not believable. What I liked was the bouncing from character to character. That was neat.
I keep re-watching your vlogs, especially with your dad. They are so wholesome and never fail to cheer up ❤️ The one during Halloween or Christmas were epic.
i just have to thank you! i was in such a bad mental state for a few days now and watching this video made me so calm and happy and peaceful i feel great now :) thank u soooo much! u deserve the world :D
I love these types of videos by you, the reading vlogs in which you are somewhere distant. Or any reading vlog with a certain theme (that IT-reading vlog, for example). That cabin is just adorable!
I’m so glad your back, missed your vlogs! Your relationship with your dad reminds me of mine, we watch shows and read books and have the same sense of humor.
I was wondering what happened to the halloween edition where you read It in 1 day. I really enjoyed that one. I was watching it on youtube one day and then the next it was taken off.
Zoe, I just want to say that I absolutely love you. You’re such an amazing person. I love how bubbly and happy you always are. Your videos give me life and always make me smile. You’re so passionate about what you do. Thank you!!
I’m late, but the reason that the main character in Evelyn Hardcastle kept speaking about how uncomfortable and fat he felt is because the longer he spent inside of other people’s minds, the more he began to feel what they felt. Ravencourt was ashamed of who he was because of his weight, but he knew that his mind was his strong suit, and so the protagonist felt the same. The more the book goes on, the more he begins to think and act like his hosts. There were times where he couldn’t control his actions because his hosts were fighting against what HE wanted/thought. I don’t really think it was being fat-phobic honestly.
I completely agree with you! In reality, it was just him being overcome by the person he was inhabiting, and I don't see anything wrong with that. As an overweight person myself, I honestly don't understand why anyone would be triggered by that. That's exactly what being overweight can be like. You aren't as mobile, you aren't as quick, and sometimes you don't love yourself. It's something I struggled with all throughout my teenage years. But it's not "triggering" at all to me because it's just showing us the hard, ugly truth of what it can be like for someone in that predicament. Even so, I never once read that and felt like it was a fatphobia thing. Honestly, it's just a book. As someone else had said, books represent some of what society is like, and not all of it is going to be nice, and it shouldn't be because the real world isn't perfect.
As a fellow FL gal, the autumn shookethness is a whole vibe. I did notice an insane amount of changing leaves on the way to Disney the other day and I was amazed.
1. Can your dad adopt me because he is the most adorable person ever. 2. Evelyn Hardcastle is overrated I think. The ending makes you 10x more confused 3. Come to Saskatchewan, Canada we have tons of pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and horse back riding 4. Frankenstein is one of my favorite books, I read it for a fiction class in university, really recommend it but take your time with it to allow yourself to absorb what’s being said
When I and my parents were in a cabin up at the top of Scotland, there were deer that would come onto the wooden porch by their glass doors ar night and there was something that got on the roof, I think it was a polecat or something i cant remember.
She was a lover of books and on a quest to read the spookiest of them all Zoe locked herself away in a cabin apart from the world. Little did she know the further she'd read, the more pages she flipped the cabin would show its true colors eating away at Zoes mind one book at a time. Never to be seen again. - my own little spook
Your vlogs are literally my fave! You put so much effort into them and I just love your energy. I definitely needed to watch this today as I am sick, so you have definitely lifted my mood
Loved your comments on fatphobia! I've never heard anyone else mentioning that about Evelyn Hardcastle; it's definitely leaving my wish list now. Also, the whole vlog was just soo cozy and wonderful!
Zoe, one of my favorite things about your channel is that you include your dad. I about teared up when I saw the two of you hiking. My dad took us kids hiking, too. He passed away in 2009 to lung cancer. Cherish these moments. They are so precious.
I’ve read 7 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and I found it quite confusing but very interesting. I read it so fast despite the confusing plot and I really enjoyed the twists and turns in it. I think I have to re-read it again to understand it all.
Gosh I love your videos. I was recently trying to find vlogs in Asheville/ Great Smoky Mountains since I am going there in February and then you posted this which just gave me LIFE.
27:47 We love a BuzzFeed Unsolved reference. 🙌🏼 Also, your thoughts on Evelyn Hardcastle pretty much exactly mirror mine when I read it. I just couldn’t bring myself to care at a certain point and had a difficult time getting invested in the story. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who felt this way!
Whenever Zoë release a reading vlog, I'm here. Must be really sick to get spooked in a cabin. You and the gloomy, eerie silence, waiting for the jumpscare that never comes. mwahahaha
I actually recently read a lot of the books mentioned in the video. Evelyn Hardcastle is slow, but it does pick up at the end and it does have a twist coming. I also didn't really enjoy it until the end then I liked it quite a bit so take that how you will. I loved the Graveyard book, the Diviners and Frankenstein.
Seriously, you and your dad are the best, you are parent-daughter relationship goals :) and a 45min vlog with you goes by so fast, you have such a perky personality ! :)
I love how you got so excited about a single changing leaf while the rest of the trees were still entirely green lol ='D I am from the north east and I love the change of seasons! I could do with like, just a month of winter tho. Post Christmas it needs to be spring!
anyone worrying about zoe. she's doing well. I learned and checked that she's a librarian now, and is happy with her life. It'd be wonderful to see her back but as long as she's healthy and happy, I can simply re-watch her videos to get inspired to read 😊❤
I love dracula! That is one of the best books ever to read especially around halloween time. I have my own challenge each year to read that every october and hocus pocus. And sorry for the late reply.
Yea the summer in between my freshman and sophomore year of high school we had to pick a classic and I chose Frankenstein. I didn’t really like it but it kind of grew on me. Now, in the end of my second semester, instead of doing an exam we have to write a research paper on the book we chose over the summer. I’m supposed to be doing it now but instead I’m watching your video because I love your videos more.
if someone stayed in my house they would have a video montage of mermaids instead of ducks 😂 i’m so glad you mentioned the fatphobia in the seven and a half deaths of evelyn hardcastle. it really bothered me and is part of the reason i dnf’d that’s book! the other reason was that i found it quite dull tbh! 😬 i love this vlog bc you’re soo funny!! 😊
As someone who is obese myself I urge you to consider a different perspective. You don't have to agree or call it right, but reading stories about other people, to understand others and gain empathy for others because you might understand them more now that you've read a different perspective is the point of it all right? I wasn't offended because I know, internally that's how I talk to myself when I consider my fattness. No it's not self loving, and it's not the right way to have good mental health. But people don't get better over night and changing is a process. Be reading that section in this book you might find yourself learning "oh? People think about themselves this way don't they? That's so sad! Know I have a better understanding of what it might feel like to be that way and it doesn't seem fun or good. I can use what I learned here to have more empathy for folks with issues like those." Shutting down a conversation just because it's not a pretty one doesn't change reality. It just makes so those with issues are tiptoed around and don't really feel included in any conversation. That's how I look at it anyway.
@@solod2087 I've never read the book but I feel what you are saying. It's totoally fine to feel triggered by that sort of thing and dislike it. But having problematic characters in books doesn't make the book itself problematic. It depends on how the author represents it I think☺
@@lilypond5158 I haven't read it yet either, but wouldn't that perspective be based on an unhealthy obese person? Somebody who is not as mobile and able due to their condition rather than a larger person who is healthy? I don't see how its offensive if it's based off a character who is dealing with health issues due to his size.
@@macattack1874Yeah, that's kinda why I didn't say it was wrong, only that it's natural to feel triggered. But I can't be sure completely because the writing can make a big difference.
Zoe lives by the beat of her own drum. A spooky vlog in Dec. Loving it so far...laughing through the duck count. Never change girl! And don't let no one kill your joy. You are such a blessing for lifting our spirits. I going to drag out this video with the hopes you will soon upload again. Hint: a holiday vlog please

I just couldn’t bring myself to care at a certain point and had a difficult time getting invested in the story. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who felt this way!
Whenever Zoë release a reading vlog, I'm here. Must be really sick to get spooked in a cabin. You and the gloomy, eerie silence, waiting for the jumpscare that never comes. mwahahaha
Is it finals week?Yes
Will I drop my homework to watch this?Yes
Zoe counting the eagle as a duck 😜🤣
Anyway rewatching Zoe’s videos cuz they miss her?😩🤍
I actually recently read a lot of the books mentioned in the video.
Have you read Bram stokers Dracula, that is a book I recommend. I also love pride and prejudice, it's one of the greatest books I've ever read.
I love dracula! That is one of the best books ever to read especially around halloween time. I have my own challenge each year to read that every october and hocus pocus. And sorry for the late reply.
Your reading vlogs are literally the best videos on booktube nowadays. Thank you for the amazing content ❤
I missed the reading vlogs!! Now I want to go to a cabin and read!!!
Yea the summer in between my freshman and sophomore year of high school we had to pick a classic and I chose Frankenstein. I didn’t really like it but it kind of grew on me. Now, in the end of my second semester, instead of doing an exam we have to write a research paper on the book we chose over the summer. I’m supposed to be doing it now but instead I’m watching your video because I love your videos more.
if someone stayed in my house they would have a video montage of mermaids instead of ducks 😂
i’m so glad you mentioned the fatphobia in the seven and a half deaths of evelyn hardcastle. it really bothered me and is part of the reason i dnf’d that’s book! the other reason was that i found it quite dull tbh! 😬
i love this vlog bc you’re soo funny!!
Amanda McLaughlin i’m overweight as well. it was still sickening for me to read.
Yorkshire Tea! I’m the only person in my family who loves that tea. With your raving about The Diviners, I’m looking forward to picking up that series.
OH MY GOD CHRISTMAS IS EARLY??
45 mins of Zoe... YESSS!!
