Carrie and David Grant are BAFTA award-winning broadcasters, vocal coaches, leadership coaches and campaigners. Their TV and music career has spanned over 40 years and they have been awarded a MOBOaward and a BASCA for their lifetime services to the music industry.David has had 14 hit records and been nominated for 2 Brit Awards. David was awarded an MBE in 2019 for his lifetime services to music. David has acted at The National Theatre (Oh What a Lovely War), Bristol Old Vic (Amen Corner) and starred in the National Tour of Five Guys Named Mo.
Carrie started her career as a dancer (on Top of the Pops) and singer and represented the UK in the Eurovision 1983. She went on to host a number of TV shows and provided backing vocals for many artists. For ten years Carrie was a reporter for BBC 1’s The One Show and together with David currently hosts the Saturday Breakfast Show on BBC Radio London. Carrie also presents three podcast series. In 2018 Carrie was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Bedfordshire for contribution to autism and charity and in 2022 another Honorary Doctorate from Middlesex University for her work in Health and Education. In 2020 she was also awarded an MBE for her services to Music, Media and Charity.
Together Carrie and David became vocal coaches on Pop Idol and then went on to become a coaches and judges on Fame Academy. They created and presented the ground-breaking CBeebies show Carrie and David’s Popshop. Together they had a No1 DVD and they have both the largest selling vocal coaching book and the biggest on-line vocal coaching course in the world. They are regular judges on Chorister/Young choir/Gospel Choir of the Year. The have coached at Goldsmiths School of Music and The Academy of Contemporary Music. This May ‘23 they release their book “A Very Modern Family” on Little, Brown Publishing.
