    I'm a 3rd generation carpenter. People who are not in the business have no idea what they are witnessing. I challenge anyone here to build just one of those wall panels by hand and have it fit those openings. This may be my most favorite video on RUclips, and I hope the film maker wins some awards for their work and lovely editing. Thank you for posting this.
    I only saw one flaw in a staircase and as expected, it had been corrected in a later shot. Decades ago, somebody took a picture of me looking out a framed window opening on my own house out in the woods just like shown here @ 28:00, and that REALLY got me, as I knew his exact feeling.

      As someone who does know a bit about this I'll admit the only thing I questioned was placing wooden roof supports into thin paneling but my guess is that if it's strong enough to take the weight then that might be a bit unfounded. I will note however, that wood has some serious phonetic reverb and is perhaps the inspiration for some of the more modern sound effects we have today in music. The only other thing I could potentially add is that this building definitely speaks volumes about traditional methods being met with modern equipment. Quite amazing.

    • @kingofcastlechaos
      @kingofcastlechaos Месяц назад +12

      @@babiliar9110 you would fit right in with most 1st year apprentices, they speak before they think, I know I did. I never said any of this was simple, and I myself at my peak could not fit that solid wood panel so precisely. The weather changes/ wood movement they have to allow for is really incredible, but they know the wood and the process.

    • @kingofcastlechaos
      @kingofcastlechaos Месяц назад +8

      @@KhanIlkara I was curious about that too. I imagine these buildings really pop and creak in their first hundred years. I once had to add ribs to the back of a large panel because any noise in another part of the house resonated and seemed amplified. Really cool to experience but apparently not cool to live with per the owner.

    It's not just the design and attention to detail of the house that makes this impressive; it's the sheer scale of it as well. This house is easily over a few thousand square feet. And not an inch of it was carelessly overlooked or lazily put together. Full respect!

      2. Place the logs in dried, windy, not sunny place at least one year.
      3. Construct the house following the videos method
      As a result, the house would last at least 300+ years with regular maintenance such as repareing the roof covers..

    There are four things I don’t understand. (1) This is a delicate building. Although it is two stories high, it is necessary to prevent uneven settlement. I don’t know if the concrete of the foundation is equipped with steel bars. (2) The wooden frame of the roof has been covered with tiles before spraying preservatives. I wonder if this step was missed. (3) How the tiles are fixed on the wooden frame, because God can unforeseen events. In the event of strong winds, the tiles cannot be fixed on the wooden frame, which will pose a danger to people and animals. (4) For each wall, the construction craftsmen put it in place without reinforcing it with cross-bolts. Wouldn't it be possible in the future? It can be taken down at will. Or it may fall down at any time due to sudden external force. Is this purely an omission during the video recording?
    I hope the blogger can enlighten me.
    本人有四件事情, 並不理解. (1) 這是一座精緻的建築物, 雖然是兩層樓的高度, 但是防止不均勻沉陷, 也是有必要的. 不知地基的混凝土, 有否配置鋼筋. (2) 屋頂的木架, 在未有噴灑防腐劑之前, 就已經鋪上瓦片, 不知是否做漏了這個步驟. (3) 瓦片是如何固定在木架之上, 因為天有不測之風雲, 遇上大風, 瓦片不能固定在木架之上, 對人畜都會構成危險. (4)每一道牆身, 建築工匠都是在放置到位之後, 再沒有用橫閂加固, 豈不是日後亦可以隨意拿下來. 或者遇上突然的外力, 隨時倒下. 這是否純粹是錄影時的遺漏.
    希望博主能夠賜教.

      非专业性回复,请见谅。1.地面基础部分,传统的建筑,在山区是需要打桩的,山区常用木桩,使用一根很长的树干,整体打到地面6-8米,也有一些地方使用整根竹子,现在更多使用混凝土桩,加上地面编织钢筋,这样整个地基和混凝土桩是一体的。2.房顶支撑瓦的木架一般不涂防水剂,传统的防水材料就是桐油,虽然防水但是也是易燃物,涂刷桐油之后干燥的时间长达6-10个月,这里和问题3一并回复,固定瓦片在中国男方都是直接摆放,瓦是使用黏土烧制的陶瓦,有一定的重量,按照一定的顺序进行码放,依靠自身的重力进行固定,有损坏的地方也可以很方便的修复,在中国可以吹起房瓦的大风的飓风并不多见。我四十岁了,只见过一次。4。整个房子建好之后,主要框架都是连接在一起,形成了一个非常稳定的框架,这种结构经历了数千年的检验,是很好的防震的结构,这一座房子,可以正常居住200-300年,故宫的宫殿很多都是500-600年之前建造的,在这期间,如果哪一根木头坏掉了,是可以正常替换维修。视频中的只是民间建筑,宫廷建筑的话,建造要求会更高,使用更好的材料和更高的工艺标准。

    • @cliffmo6707
      @cliffmo6707 Месяц назад +4

      @@jkjoiqweiczl 感謝回復. 第一點的做法看來足夠. 因為樓宇不高, 荷重亦不大. 只是建築物過於精緻, 製作全程沒有用上鋼材, 才有此一問. 第二點的提問, 本人最初誤以為是防虫, 防火及防腐材料. 既然是防水, 本人對這方面認識不多, 沒有太多意見. 第三點是由於本人正正身處南方的香港, 經常受颱風侵襲, 所以對風力的影響, 特別關心. 颱風威力足以吹毀塔式起重機, 吹起瓦片, 並不困難. 但是對內陸的建築物, 要求考慮颱風風力, 又變成無事生非. 第四點反而最值得追問. 因為本人經常觀看越南民間自己動手建造一層式的木屋. 他們在安放木造牆身之後, 會在四周加上小木條加固, 防止牆身與框架脫離. 閣下是行內人, 應該明白本人意思. 因為既然容易安放在現場的物體, 自然容易被取下. 所以見到工匠們, 沒有繼續施工, 加上橫閂, 才有此一問. 當然本人不在現場, 可能是有些細節工匠們已經做了, 用來固定牆身, 這就不得而知了..

      There are wooden architecture in Hong Kong too. I highly recommend Chi Lin Nunnery, it is a modern architecture based on Tang dynasty Buddhist architecture style, which is very similar to Japanese style. It has a room with models showing how it is constructed.

    • @cliffmo6707
      @cliffmo6707 24 дня назад +1

      @@einsam_aber_frei I've been there. I remember the room had some typical beam and column details on display, but there was no video showing the entire construction process (please correct me if I'm wrong). So the videos provided by "Magic Process" are a good example of how we understand our cultural heritage. But as I mentioned, the method of attaching the wooden wall to the posts is not shown, which prevents this video from being a complete demonstration. In addition, as we all know, Hong Kong is in a typhoon zone, so how to fix the roof tiles is something we must pay attention to. But so far, even on RUclips, information is limited. Finally, I would like to emphasize that not only were the wooden frames of the roof tiled before they were sprayed with preservatives, but the gap between the underside of the substratum and the raft foundation was also not treated with preservatives. I may be a little harsh on such a fine building. But in the southern region, especially Hong Kong, insect and moisture prevention needs to be considered.

      Its really quite debilitating when you want to build a house. Like here. Ive been doing stone masonry for years, I could totally build a stone house. But its simply not easy to do at all. There are so many rules in place that would doubke the cost of it compared to just building with wood. and cheap stuff like drywall and plastic siding.
      That's even with getting the stone for free. I have enough on my land that it's just the labour to move it. And even with 80% of the building material free. It's still going to cost roughly the same as just building with wood.
