A weapon to surpass Metal Gear
Lol. ❤
Metal...Gear? Colonel!
Budget metal gear be like 😂
yeah it's the little chicken metal gear mark ii robot from snatcher and metal gear solid 4 😉
The Carbon fibre frame really makes it stands out from all the other robots.
As long as it's not in sitting mode 6:20 🤭🤭🤭
I didn't expect to laugh so hard reading this😅
Holy crap, it's adorable. I recall seeing a Hacksmith short where they had this running around and they tripped it over a forklift prong or something and caused it to faceplant. I thought it was something _they_ made at the time, didn't know it was an actual product people could buy. some "consumer robots" they only sell to tech companies (so that they aren't make to look bad by "regular people.") The case looks monstrously huge but that remote looks so simple. I can imagine 3D printing custom attachments.
I really wish companies would make useful robots in this price range
Indeed, I thought it would be something in the hundreds area, I was not expecting that much.
With built-in ai
What you need to understand is a robotic platform and the functions robot can perform are developed separately. People say they want useful robots, this thing can clearly navigate human environments quickly. So what do you want it to do?
Buy it as a development platform, add your own tools on top and this robot can be exactly what you want. A competitive useful robotic platform in the lowest price backet you can buy robots in period. This company killed it, absolutely killed it. 3k is a steal, for its specs they could have easily asked double that.
Its weird that people don't get the pricing of such tech, but think about tech like Siri, voice recognition software has been in the works for over 60 years. It's not that we couldn't make it it work, it's that there is basically no money to be made. Amazon tried to use it to decrease the threshold to purchase and engage with their webstore and still failed, Apple used it as a tech-gimic during the peak of "innovation" as a buzzword to make their device seem cutting edge.
We now use it to set timers and ask about the weather to save us a few thumb swipes. Sometimes the biggest challenge of new technology is matching it with a application so it actually has a real function. Same thing with Spot, upon release it is a development platform, robotics engineers often focus on the the giving it function part, so R&D in companies that make LIDAR units or security related sensors can now integrate their product into the development platform.
And now we have automated full time remote access to the insides of fission reactors, or 24/7 patrol of building sites which doubles as a scanning/assesment tool for progress and defect identification etc.
Same with drones, thermal cameras and search and rescue units. It takes time, so when you say stuff like "i wish companies would make useful robots" you come across as a complete asshat to the people who are working in and on robotics right now. And adding "in this price range" means you have no clue what you would even want out of a robot let alone in this price range.
Cool factor is off the charts! 👍
I love the PID mathematics behind these things (Proportional Integral Derivative controller).
Thx ETA.
Perfect for carrying my shopping around the store and home.
This is the first robot I would actually consider buying.
It's amazing to think that it can run off a raspberrypi :)
I'm actually looking at building something like this. It's such a cool robot
I'm seeing it differently.. $3k+ robot, $35 computer; they made a device that is entirely reliant on computer logic but spent 1 percent of the budget on computer logic. A $200 increase on $3000 would not dissuade potential customers and would increase its useful applications so many times over.
I would totally buy one with a pi if it were about a quarter of the size and a quarter of the price.
@@c4pt1n54no Can't disagree with that.
I was mainly looking at what they have the Pi doing with the self balancing + voice recognition etc.
I love seeing how much devs can squeeze out of limited hardware :)
Thr RPi is probably something like a highlevel driver. All the motion and balancing calculations needs to be done in realtime and probably have dedicated microcontrollers taking care of it.
He is Awesome! Still Love your Galaxys Edge Droids!
Insanely cool. I'll buy the A.i model
$3000 for this one, and over 12k for the other? Did they give it to you for a review because holy shit! That's a lot of money not all of us can go spend
Wow, thats a nice piece of tech
I think a good stress test for the balancing would be to strap a small, medium, and large plastic tub on its head and have it carry at least close to the capacity and have it try and make short-distance deliveries on different terrain. It would also be interesting to see it try and carry the plastic tub with more or less in the tub so maybe it's packed, maybe it's rolling around a bit which could prove to be quite a challenge to keep balance.
I could see a use being helping the elderly or otherwise incapacitated maintain their autonomy. I could also see it similarly used as an assistant for carrying around tools for different kinds of trades that require a diverse set of tools. They could pretty easily make a mounting lock accessory for people looking to utilize this by just using the handles already on there, and then it can be attached to a container to put on top by the user. They could also make compatible reinforced containers themselves, or maybe just make the mounting lock accessory be directly compatible with Pelican cases.
Existential moment though... Imagine this, but double or triple the size. 👀💦 The implications of how it could be used in different (not so savory) fields are endless. Now imagine an army of them, armed to the teeth and armored, with added built in stabilizer mounts that pop out and plant in the ground to fire.
Sweet! #1. When I first saw the title of the video, I thought it was an accessibility device for people that couldn’t walk.
$2,800 - $9,000 😮
Lots of potential for attachments.
- Screen for teleconferencing
- Security cameras and flash lights.
- Arm opening drawers, fridges and carrying small items
- delivery tray
- power tool attachments - screw driver, welder, drill etc..
Wow, I want one.. Great video bty..
a arm and manipulator on it would be epic, trogdor style one beefy arm on the back
I'm interested in seeing some really practical use cases for around the house things you can do with this. This looks like a tank.
yay robots on ETA PRIME
Never knew I needed something I don't so bad
BD-1 cam eyes would look cool too.
It's all fun and games until you wake up one night and it's sitting on your chest ominously glowing red and uttering: "Destroy".
@6:25. When the robot apocolypse happens... U were one of the good ones. Life spared.
Wife needs to give it more love tho. 😅
That's a cool high value loaned device for you to play with
I was interested in buying one of these until I saw the price, I will have to wait for the prices of bots to come down
Would you consider taking it off-road to see how well it might do? I have done wilderness search and rescue, and could imagine use case scenarios for a system like this in that area, being used as a kind of scout system supporting a SAR worker, and helping transport gear. It would also be interesting to see if a stretcher could be rigged up between two of them and have it transport people.
I think it could be sick if you got one of those dot matrix masks and used that as it’s eyes/face
I think it would be cool to use two of these systems back to back like a robo-catdog. I think giving it the ability to climb stairs could be game changing!
with inline skates as a horse... cool want one
Thats great
Stick an insta360 on there and use follow mode for a ground drone. Really cool project though, glad you did a video on this, it’s a cool topic.
Once the initial appeal runs out, I think that this would become a very expensive paperweight.
or a very handy beverage delivery bot that one can't live with out.
I want to add an arm to this thing so so bad. I love it!
ok, ETA Prime this is something new 😅
so cool
Next generation war Machine💣
I really wanna see the ayaneo slide
That's cool, but $10k, wow.
Closer to $3k according to the website. Still pretty steep but way less than I'd expect.
@@TheRealAlpha2 yeah true, I was looking at the AI one which is sold out for $10k.
i want one
Does it fall over when the battery dies?
Very very cool! Would love to see more robot content from you I love the style!
Price & specs included in the video would be nice. Not sure why some videos it's shown & other times it isn't.
Or you could post the prices....
$2,899.00 marked down $1,000 from $3,899.00
I do several hours of research most every day, & sometimes it's difficult for me to come back around to every individual thing I learned about. I like to research robots & AI but when people don't mention a price it's kinda easy to assume it's likely not very affordable to the average person.
@@fl1ntlock1 Its reviewer job not random commenters
You should check out EMO, a desktop AI pet.
Add an axe on top and enter it for Robot Wars
If it can pass the 'Open fridge and bring beverage' test this will sell like hotcakes.
This would be awesome to weaponize. 😂😂😂
Need to FPV the little guy 😁
big boys toys, would be great to use but idk what they cost.
Im pretty sure daddy is the one playing more then his children 😅
Very cool, but a bit rich for my blood. Glad to see it, though!
Wow thats amazing...time for me to lose so weight so this thing can carry me around for a few hours 😂😂
looks like some gadget batman would use :P
Oooooh! How about an FPV camera like those used on an RC drone...and a Nerf gun lol
It can dance?😮
it carries four times its weight? damn
If you like robots, I’d like to see if you play AC6 or Titanfall. 😊
Dont kick it, man.
Can you run emulators on him?
would be nice if you mentioned what this thing is intended to do. i get that you're interested in the tech being used in this product, but yeah what the heck is this even for / what does it do?
Adult rc car
Lol I guess there were no Ryzen APU mini pcs releasing this week huh
Has anyone tested the Vac U Lock attachment yet? 😇
Cyberdyne model 001 😅
Three thousand dollars if you were wondering
it could hold a camera
Make on to hunt spiders in my room
Looks like a xenomorph
How close are we to Claptrap
Lil bro moves better than me
Broi want one😭
Pleease please please ~ if you have a DJI Osmo Pocket can you put that on it and film some footage :)
Osmo pocket #1 are selling for cheap and in my opinion better than Osmo #2. Need to connect your phone and update its firmware and then youll have pro features button, top right.
Let's try some emulation on this device 😂
Can it be converted into a wheelchair?
But how much money?
$3.3k!? 💀
Sir, some of us are trying to afford groceries for the week. 😅
Googly eyes
anyone else thinking bank heist , u could mount an assault rifle
Yeah, but how many FPS can this thing get on Genshin Impact?!
Bro can you give me your mini pc that you build please
next time they gonna call them medabots and have robatlles
We are witnessing the dawn of SKYNET☠️
It's cool as as an engineering exercise but I can't see the benefit of having 2 rather than 4+ wheels.
Reminds Me of something from Half-life 😂
Yeah yeah but does it does Crysis?
Seem like it comes from watchdog game
what should i do with that thing? 😂
Fuuuuuuu!!! The armagedom is coming...
So… it’s a Tyco RC car… no consumer use case.
Metal Gear Mk. II
It's $3,000.
No emulators... no FPS counter, benchmarks? Dissatisfied..disappointed... lol.
I'm kinda jelous. That is pretty cool.
But can it play Doom ???
"Only" $2900 base price
🤣
No gun. 😢
Why call it Diablo?
doesnt look rainproof so the shoppingcage is kinda pointless.
Nice device but not exactly made for us hobbyists unless you are rich.
Why call it "Diablo"?
How does that name relate to the product?
Even a little?
Kinda creepy.
Reminds me of a guy I met in prison with Diablo on his back, he was in there, for murder and home invasion. He fit the name.
How does this product earn its name?
$2900. Heh
That's too pricey for my wallet. 😂
Nearly 3k for me not worth it
Look to be honest 🤣 I am into games but not this! I would like to think I am narrow minded because I understand it is appealing to eta prime subscribers
